I’ve been using minoxidil for a while and recently started microneedling with a dermastamp once a week, focusing on my scalp and beard.
I came across advice about avoiding sun exposure after microneedling and was wondering, would wearing a cap be enough protection, or should I consider other precautions? How do you all handle sun protection in your routine?
is it possible for the hairs that have shed not to come back and be lost permanently?
I've been using the Hims finasterde spray for a year and I haven't had any hair growth, but the hair loss has stopped. I'm thinking of switching to the pill they offer. Has anyone else done this and what were your results like?

Not sure if this is allowed, but figured I’d try. I’m looking to buy a Derminator 2. Before I go ahead and buy through their website, is anyone wanting to sell theirs that they don’t use anymore? I’m in the U.S. so I’m happy to pay shipping if you’re selling it at a discount.
TYIA!
so i want to add minoxidil to my regime but there no oral min in my country it's forbidden seems be so i was wondering if i melt dut and mix it with min it's while still taking oral fin is it a good idea or a waste of money
Hi everyone,
Like many in this group, I don't have the best hair genetics (everyone is bald on both my father’s and mother’s side). I’m 26 and have noticed a slight recession in recent years, though nothing too severe. However, in recent months, I’ve observed increased thinning/shedding, particularly on the right side where some areas are more exposed.
Given that many of you have experience/knowledge on this topic, would starting with Finasteride alone be a good approach?
Thanks in advance.

Taking Fina and Topical Minox
Do you think I should upgrade to Dutasteride ?
Saw a tweet of this girl saying her edges grew because of minoxidil. I think this can give people hope about growing their hair. Of course fin and dut can be crucial to stop balding, but people are getting into min
Does anyone who owns one know what the best speed and depth is? I just bought one and I can't find any good guidance on the speed and length to use.
Thanks!
Been researching and planning to start a topical serum routine for diffused thinning issue.
I am looking at topical solutions with 0.025% fin and 6% min. I have the option to remove both Retunoic acid and Hydrocortisone ingredients.
I prefer not having steroids due to long term affects.
Anyone tried removing these and still got good results?
Stumbled upon these photos I took of my early hair loss 4 years ago. Wish I had filmed how bad it was, as I don't think the photos fully convey the situation, but I wasn’t too keen to be on camera during that time. When the hair loss hit me, it quickly got to a point where it consumed a lot of my mental bandwidth.
Thanks to MPMD and this Reddit page, I jumped on Finasteride and Minoxidil. I suffered an initial shedding phase but had pretty decent results after 3–5 months. Comparing this to my current hair, I’m very satisfied with the results.
I gained 10kg of weight because bulking for the gym - that made me overweight and also gave me heartburn (GERD) after 5 months of oral minoxidil with no sides. Minoxidil can relax the esophagus which is a bad combination with fat pushing onto your belly… Lost 5 kgs again and the sides went away!
Title is basically it. Been on the verge of starting some sort of treatment since I've noticed the hairline going back for roughly a year. Derm suggested a topical stack from medrock, with Bimatoprast 0.03%, Dutasteride 0.1%, Minoxidil 7%, and Tretinoin 0.015%. It's 1ml a day applied at night time, they didn't suggest microneedling or mentioned but I think I'll try out microneedling for the first 2 months not sure yet what do you guys think? Would this be enough to initiate new growth and prevent further loss? Or do I NEED to take oral finasteride with this? He gave me the prescription for it if I want to use it but I am not confident with taking it as the potential side effects combined with the dutasteride could cause a higher risk. What do you guys think? Just need some opinions on this and what not, I'm not a expert on all this but I've done enough research to be confident with the topical solution to try it.
First post was auto deleted idk why the reason seemed stupid as I literally can't find a post with this stack.
Started taking fin+min on 8-23-24 and pic was taken on 11-28-24. I haven’t missed a day taking fin. Anyone else have any advice?
Was taking minoxidil for 2 and a half years with no results. Started at .5, then moved up to 1 mg then 1.5 daily and the corners of my hair were still looking rough so dermatologist took me off of it. Been on 1 mil of finasteride daily for 6 months now, no other treatment since my original derm stated minoxidil was probably not working with my continued hair loss.
First two pictures were the month i started, last two are now. I'm sure I need to give it more time but I'm getting increasingly worried. The shedding has been nonstop since starting finasteride, I'm constantly sweeping my floors and finding dozens and dozens of hairs. Additionally, i feel like my scalp is way more exposed now, I'm not seeing any follicles pushing new hairs, just less and less the frayed strands I already have. Wondering if anyone has or is going through something similar.
This procedure cost me $1000usd and was pretty painful but definitely bearable
I was using topical minoxidil everyday for 6 months as well as dermal stamping prior and saw no results so I stopped
My hairline looks to be still receding so PRP didn’t help in anyway but I wanted to share my experience because it did improve my crown
I’m trying all these hairless preventions individually so I can see what actually works. Minox and prp didn’t work so I’ve just started finastride
Suddenly straight hair changes into abnormally curly hair, and its texture also becomes weird! What could be the reason?
Started taking fin about 1 year and 3 months ago. For the first year it stopped the hair from falling out almost instantly, didn’t have much if any re growth but that didn’t bother me, also had no side effects whatsoever.
Until about 3 months ago started shedding like crazy, never had a shed when I first started taking it and have been shedding non stop since. Thought this would maybe last a month or two but it’s been well over 3 months of intense shedding.
Curious to see if anyone else has had similar experiences. Is not quite weird to have it working for a year and then just suddenly stopping working? Is it time to give something else a go?
