I have curly hair and I want to try a hair gloss and some type of scalp detoxifying product any suggestions??
I’m new in this “curly” community and I’m about to start CG method. I think that my hair type is 3A but l am not sure about that and I have low porosity. The only problem I have is that I can’t decide between co-wash and low-poo. I’ve already did some tests for it but I’m still not sure. So, if I don’t know which one is better for me, which one should I buy ? ( I don’t want to damage my hair😭)
I’ve got pretty fair curly hair, and I take such good care of it with argan, castor and marula oil so it’s so lovely and I’m honestly really proud of it.However, I’m a swim teacher and next week I have to do a two week placement at an indoor chlorinated swim centre. I never swim in pools usually as they gross me out a bit and I live so close to the ocean. What can I do to protect my hair? I don’t want to wear a swim cap as i’ll be there all day and it will get so gross and sweaty.
Thanks in advance!
All the hair on my head is different - I have a range from 2b to 3a. My hair is also very short, the longest pieces barely touch the top of my shoulders. I was wondering, how do I even take care of my curly hair? It really only is curly when wet, and I don’t style it much outside of it’s a 10 spray and sometimes a little bit of gel to set my bangs in place. I recently got a trim and I asked the hairdresser, who told me that it’s all weighed down since I have incredibly thick hair. She thinned it out quite a bit but it’s still really thick. I want my natural curl to show through, but I truly don’t know how to manage it. Shampoo/conditioner, leave in conditioner, etc recommendations would be much appreciated! Along with anything else I should be using in my hair. Thanks (:
This is my first ever post so I hope people see it. I have fairly curly hair, 2b-2c I think and I shower every morning. This can cause be to be late to school so I want to shower at night but when I shower at night I wake up to my hair being like a mushroom instead of more like a box. Also I have around 2-4 inch hair. Will getting a bonnet help my hair not become a mushroom in the morning?
Any tips on taking care of black baby’s hair. She’s still at the point where it’s wavy and super coily when went, but dried fluffy. I will do coconut oil on her hair before baths, but pretty much that’s it. She’s only 3 months old, so there’s plenty of time :) just curious what other mama’s did ?
So, I would say my daughter has somewhere between 3B or 3C type curly hair. I’ve had to educate myself a LOT on how to care for curly hair as I only have wavy hair. I’ve felt like I have done a good job up to this point. A lot of trial and error, however, as it’s getting longer, it is becoming more difficult.
She’s had it trimmed once. About 10 months ago. She had a lot of dry, dead baby hair at the ends that they trimmed off. I took her to a curly hair specialist so I knew she’d be in the right hands, and she did a great job. I honestly think it’s time for another trim though.
Some issues I am noticing recently is that her hair is not staying hydrated. I have researched different brands of leave in conditioners, hair masks, deep conditioners, oils, etc, but it’s like after her hair dries and a couple hours pass, it just feels extremely dry and brittle. (especially the ends of it) It also tangles SO BAD. She’s a toddler so she plays hard and that’s to be expected but it takes me about 30-45 minutes in the morning and evening to detangle her hair. She has a LOT OF THICK HAIR.
I shampoo her hair once a week with Carol’s Daughter moisture shampoo, then I do a deep conditioning hair mask (leave for in 10 mins) then condition it with the Carol’s daughter moisture conditioner (leave in for 5 mins.)
I wash and rinse her hair thoroughly with a co wash every single day. Like I said, she’s a toddler, so she gets dirty and gets mulch and dirt in her hair from playing on the playground at school.
I oil her hair 2-3 times a week when I think it’s needed with argan oil.
She will not wear a satin bonnet to sleep (she takes it off, so I braid her hair into 2 braids and use a satin hair tie. I’m lucky if she leaves it be overnight though.
So my questions are: What are other good products to use? Is her hair routine good or do I need to add or eliminate anything? How can I keep it from tangling so bad and feeling so dry and brittle?
Any other tips, recommendations, or constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. ❤️ I LOVE her hair and I want to take the best care of it as possible so I am open to literally any advice.
Best bundles??
Anyone know where I can get affordable bundles that last a while, can be dyed and curled?? I’m looking for either kinky straight or body wave bundles and a closure(hd lace.) Ty.
hi okay so ive always had like 2b hair up until a few years ago (around 5 ish) when i started regularly dyeing my hair. I’ve done box dye and gotten it done professionally and my hair is pretty resilient but my curl pattern has obviously suffered. I’ve never actually styled my hair with curly hair products until this year and it’s on and off because i’m in school and have zero time for anything usually.
also for context on why i’ve never learned about how to properly style and protect my natural hair, i get my hair from my mom who has curlier hair than i do and my dad has pin straight hair and my mom has been straightening hers since she got out of college and never taught me how to help my hair (never put products in it besides occasionally leave in conditioner before i could do my hair myself and never taught me anything).
she still has a mousse laying around from whenever (l’oreal curve it mousse) and a gel (it’s a 10 defrizzing gel) and when i told her about me wanting to get my curls back she bought me a tiny curl cream (it’s a 10 curl cream) which i’m almost out of along with the gel so honestly i’m just looking for suggestions. i haven’t dyed my hair in months so it’s gotten a bit of a break and i don’t think it’s permanently damaged.
okay sorry for the long context but anyways my hair has low porosity and i wash my hair about twice a week (double shampooing) and am trying to make time to actually style my hair but that means waking up about an hour and a half earlier than i usually would (would be about 5am) during the one weekday i wash my hair which isn’t the worst thing but i’m definitely not a morning person lol so i was also wondering what i can do to help my hair not go insane when i sleep on it at night because i woke up this morning and it was not looking too hot 😭
any advice would be appreciated!
Hi! I'm transmasc and while I don't believe in gendered products or scents, while I'm early in my transition I get a lot of gender euphoria from using traditionally men's hygiene products. I know it might be a small thing but even just seeing my shower shelf with red and black bottles instead of other (objectively prettier) colours still makes me giddy. I love smelling like burbon and cedar wood and all those things.
I've also been working on my hair routine for years now with "feminine" products and would like to make my overall scent more "masculine" for a while but for some reason there isn't a lot of curly hair products marketed for men. There isn't even a lot of gender neutral marketing, it seems to be all "feminine." By all means it doesn't matter what 'gender my soap is' and if all else fails I can continue with my rose and lavender conditioners but for the sake of being excited about my journey, does anyone have any 'masculine' or neutral curly hair product recommendations? Or brands that look cool or have more earthy scents. The cheaper the better but curly hair hasn't been cheap so my price expectations are low lol
Thank you!!!
So taking care of my curls (3c -4a) I got addicted to hair products. I have tried every product it exist out there. Lately I ended up liking "Innersense" the best. This products are a little pricy and right now I am low on funds so I have been trying every DYI homemade ideas. My hair has been looking the best. One good thing that I can recommend for best hydration is Aloe just raw plain natural aloe, get the gel out and just apply on dry dirty hair, detangle and let it sit. But the holy grail the solution to all my problems is "FLAX SEED GEL" there are plenty videos online in how to make it. My curls are my dream curls, zero frizz, I am done trying new things, I will never use any other gel or finishing product on my hair, my third day hair is amaizing I am in love of my hair. I used it after shampoo, conditioner and livein as a finishing product. I added a little bit of castor oil to it. It defines beautifully and the zero frizz is like never before. I know every hair is different and it may work different for others but I am so happy that I want to share with my curly community. Try it and let me know how it went :)
I have 3c/4a hair, and my scalp is in serious need of a good cleanse! I’m thinking of using a clarifying shampoo for my next wash day. Any recommendations?
