GENERAL RULES Updated 11/2021
Use constructive criticism - do not put others down. Please try to follow reddiquette when possible.
All posts have to be related to hair. (SFW only)
Spam will not be tolerated.
For style advice and product recommendations, please be sure to include the type of hair you have and condition it's in, as well as the whole overall look you are trying to accomplish. For color advice: include things like whether or not the hair has been dyed before, and if so with what and how many times, and a picture! If you're not comfortable using your own picture, we would advise for you to use a celebrity hair color or style picture when describing a desired style, at least, for better advice! We highly suggest using imgur.com to upload images.
If you don't know how to describe a haircut to the stylist then take the picture to him/her. It's always much better than explaining.
tldr; have respect for yourself and others, and don't spam.

**PLEASE don't hold it against the mods if your post is not posted -- it's probably just stuck in the spam filter and we missed it. If you bring it to our attention we will hunt for it.

I've searched far and wide online and can't find an answer.
So my grandfather was born blonde but as a teenager his hair changed to dark brown and stayed that way.
My father was born blonde, then as a teen he turned bright ginger, as a young adult it turned dark brown and stayed that ever since.
I was born blonde then as a toddler I turned dark brown and have been ever since.
What on earth is happening?
For those of you with voluminous and 'bouncy' hair (similar to the attached image), how did you achieve that look, and what do you do to maintain it?
And if anyone has like a link to someone getting their hair cut/ done like this please send it lol. I cut my own bangs and Im not sure how to get them to look like this
I’m back in the mood to just shave my head for a while and I’m looking for something budget but robust. Are these any good and is Wahl even a top brand? I see them around a lot but see other brands with much higher “premium” pricing.
i have naturally wavy hair. when i got a wolfcut they said i had to straighten it to get rid of my frizz. but now i look rlly stupid. my hair is so flat and disgusting. maybe ill warm up to it in a few days but i miss my volume. i hope tomorrow when i wake up my hair would maybe regain some of my waves and i wont have such a flat looking hair.
my parents say it looks good but i really dont believe them i think i look ugly now. im ashamed to show my friends, knowing them they will say it looks nice even if they believe otherwise and that is so embarassing.
my friend said to give it two days, ill warm up to it. before the cut, all of my friends and sibling recommended me to get a wolfcut, but i didnt expect them to straighten my hair.
sorry for the rant.
After 5 years I cut of my hair. Have been struggling with dry scalp and itching for a while now, so it had to go. I am currently 6mm 😅 Will save up again 😊
Jus some questions
Heads been itchy pst 2 days, today was the worst, I’m legit up at 3am losing hope of sleep with work tomorrow at 6:30. I was making sure I wasn’t tripping so tonight I went ham on tryna find a lice and make it fall out. Bunch of small white dots looking like eggs came out, thought igh im just tripping. still couldn’t sleep then I felt some shit moving. Doose doose. quickest my hands ever moved, ripped that shit out and I felt it fall out my hair. Look down at bed sheet (and btw I’ve had lice before) this doesn’t look like no lice I know. This thing was bigger than an adult lice should be and it had wings. It started spazzing on my bed, I got scared and smashed it otherwise I would have photo. It’s def not just the one my head still feels like things moving in it and very itchy, also i am almost certain the white dots are some sort of eggs
First question: anyone know wtf this could be? At first I thought its biggest lice I’ve seen but when I saw the wings thought otherwise. It looked exactly like brown lice except with shiny wings and bigger. I also checked the lil bit of scalp I could be fucked to check (it’s 3am) and I saw lots of red marks, my chest also definitely has more red spots then half a week to a week ago.
Second question: what should I do about work tomorrow? I work in trade so very likely I will be working close with one of my coworkers. Because if I can still come I could probably body it with enough caffeine.
Well, Preciate it if any replies x
Hey guys! I need some advice. I got a professional opinion but I wanted to get peer advice as well. I want to change my hair. The first photo is me. 2nd photo is the professionally edited one from a stylist. And the last is the hair cut and color I thought of getting/got advice from redit the last time i posted about my hair. Do you guys think either of these look better on me, or should I try something else? I guess I was just hoping for something more dramatic from the stylist but didn't get that.
I would love your opinion and input on this. I'm debating on the hair color as well as the cut. Should I cut it short or keep it long?
so i have had straight hair my entire life but today i jus added some oil and conditioner and it turned out i have wavy hair should i grow my hair atleast 2-3 inches to check it out?
Hello! I'd like to try a new colour on my hair. My natural colour should be around a 7.1 (SEE PIC), from what I've understood, and I've only dyed it once (SEE PIC), around two years ago. That time the colours used were from Manic Panic, a mix between Vampire Red and Infra Red, and I LOVED the result. It also faded nicely. I'm looking for something fun that can make my hair look less boring and maybe brings out my features' colors. I have hazel eyes, I'm quite pale but tend to have redness on my face.
Is there any way I can make my hair get wetter easier? I can spend 25 minutes in the shower and my hair will be basically fully dry and whenever it does get a bit wet it feels extremely rough and coarse, I have to use dry shampoo whenever it gets greasy because taking a shower like everyone else doesn’t work for me, is there any tips or tricks to help me?
Hi, I hate how my hair glows this orangey/yellow colour in the light, I just want it to look brown. Iv tried blue shampoo but it hasn’t made any difference
