Be kind with constructive criticism; don't comment anything that is needlessly rude or hurtful. Our community is built around supporting and appreciating nail art, no matter the artist's current skill level.
Critiques or comments including harassment, slurs, and -isms are not allowed. Engaging in the same type of behavior in retaliation is also not acceptable. Report inflammatory comments.
This subreddit is about nails: your nails, others' nails, nail art, nail care, nail issues, nail progress, nail product reviews, tutorials, etc. Not nail related posts are not allowed.
If a pic you post isn't your own, you must use the ~Inspo~ post tag AND either credit the original artist or specify you don't know who the original artist is. Please cite the source of your reference and credit the original artists, including a link to the original source if possible.
Cross-posting from other subreddits is allowed as long as the content follows these rules - rule #4 applies here and a list of polishes and products must be included in the cross post (please do not direct us to the main post).
Include a list of polishes and products used with your post. Posts without lists will be removed after 12 hours. Include the products in the post title, text body, or a separate comment after posting. Brand names and shade names/numbers are required.
Product list should detail each of the main items used; for example, if you used a collection of polishes, each polish should be named. Base and top coat is not necessary to list, but helpful. Number of coats is also helpful, as is spelling out the name of the brand rather than using an acronym.
In the title -> Polish Brand - Polish Name
In the description or as a comment below your post -> āThis is Polish Brand āPolish Nameā in two coats.ā
If you are a professional nail technician posting your own work, a product list is still required.
If your nails were done by someone else or at a salon, describe what you had done best to your ability and tag the post as āSalon Work.ā
Sponsored posts* and ADs must be clearly tagged using the appropriate subreddit POST FLAIR (listed below) and your relationship with the brand must be explained (USER FLAIR). This is required by the FTC (see: https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/disclosures-101-social-media-influencers).
Subreddits, including their mods and users, are required to abide by the rules of Reddit TOS, and Reddit communities fall under American Consumer Protection rules; as such, this is the law. Mods will intervene for posts that fail to make their relationship or sponsor with a brand clear to the community. Mods will add the AD tag to posts that appear to fall under these guidelines, and will remove posts that fail to update their posts for clarity.
Sponsored Posts are considered *advertisements** (ADs) - sponsored means paid or compensated to post. Any content featuring an item that was given in turn or with compensation is considered an AD. In the nail polish world, the āPRā tag is often used to denote sponsored content - āPRā stands for āpublic relationsā or āpress releaseā, thus the item or content becomes a āPR product.ā The FTC guidelines say to be specific and avoid jargon, so we are adding āADā to all sponsored flairs and any post that falls into the following categories for clarity.
POST FLAIR: We require flair on all user postsā and sponsored posts must be tagged appropriately using the flair options listed below. Posters should also clarify sponsorship details in text when posting, such as whether the product was given freely, a prototype gift, paid content, and so forth.
PAID PR (AD) - When a brand pays you to post ("paid PR product").
USE THE REDDIT BRAND AFFILIATE TOGGLE WHEN POSTING Need help? https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/23972085214484-What-s-a-brand-affiliate-tag
GIFTED PR (AD) - When a brand gives a person an item ("gifted PR product") and that item is used and reviewed and shared publicly.
SELF-PROMO (AD) - You are an influencer, such as a nail technician, sharing your work, but you do not gain direct monetary benefits from exposure.
USER FLAIR: Blogger, Swatcher, and Brand Owner user flair tags are available to make your brand relationship very clear. You can change your user flair on the subreddit sidebar, by your username.
Note: Affiliate links are not allowed. Posts for deals/discounts/and sales on behalf of a brand or as a brand must also be tagged as AD. By nature, these are advertisements and must be tagged as such.
Appreciate nails/nail art WITHOUT mentioning explicit, graphic, or sexual terms. Referring to things as hot, sexy, etc. is not allowed. Please report any explicit or harassing behavior that you see in this subreddit.

No injury posting. Bare and broken nails (both together) must be spoilered; nails with an injury in general should be spoilered if very mild or otherwise not posted. Just bare nails do not need to be spoilered, though some members of the community request/suggest that you do.
No seeking or giving medical advice. We recognize that nail care can be difficult at times and intimidating for new hobbyists; however, we are collectively strangers and not medical professionals, and cannot assess/diagnose/assist with hand or nail related injuries and concerns.
The following are examples of posts we cannot allow:
We cannot field these questions, we can only ever direct you to consult a medical professional or see a doctor.

Does anyone know of a good dupe for holo taco orange drink? The orange linear holo from superchic is also what I'm looking for but I'm not going to buy from them. I know Holo taco has a couple of orangey holos but they're not saturated or the right shade for me.
Thanks!
Sharing this since I canāt get it myself because the seller is located in Seattle and says they donāt ship š
I thought if someone was going to get these it should be from this community š āØ The collection is listed on Offer Up.
This was the polish combo that got me back into nail polish in 2022!
Products used: Mooncat - Hardcore base coat Cirque Colors - Linen Cirque Colors - Jade Jelly Cirque Colors - Sunkissed, ring finger 1 coat Mooncat - Speed Demon QDTC
I got my first ever order from them and I thought it was just the nail strengthener that was that strong...then I opened the polish bottles and the top coat and they're SO strong too! I've never had nail polish that was this fume-y. Is this normal for this brand or just a bad batch? Also....should I worry about breathing it? Lol
I held off on adding this polish to my cart because Iād seen a few reviews that the shift was not as advertised (most of those reviews did indicate that customer service said it was a bad batch and replaced the defective polish, resolving the issue).
I decided to give it a try after all and as you can see in the video, thereās definitely a strong shift from pink/purple to blue to green, even in my kitchen lighting! Itās very mesmerizing in person in all kinds of lighting (not like how some polishes are really only at their best in full sun). Also the formula was easy to work with, not too thin and not too thick, self levelled well, and dried well with the QDTC.
Products: 1 coat Mooncat Hardcore base 1 coat Mooncat Getting Even primer 3 coats Mooncat Mercuryās Tears (note that 2 coats probably would have been sufficient for opacity but I lightly bumped a couple of my nails after the second coat so did 3 coats on all of them to fix it) 1 coat Mooncat Speed Demon top coat
Products used: Holo Taco- Long Lasting Base Lights Lacquer- Frog Prince Holo Taco- Scattered Holo Taco Holo Taco- Glossy Taco
Please ignore the janky cuticles. I am so impressed by this polish, it arrived in the mail today and I had to put it on right away. It is so glowy and sparkly in person and looks way more like an indie creation than a mainstream polish. I love it!
Base: nailtiques formula 2
Polish: OPI IS when time stuns still
Top: KB shimmer clearly on top.
Itās brand new & havenāt used any of it yet. I wanted to see what it smelled like. After having to twist a crap ton of air out of it just to get to the product, I took the wrapper off & to my dismay, itās less than half full. Surely this isnāt a normal amountā¦
Product: PPU Glisten & Glow Cuticle Oilā¦
Mooncat's Lord Vader. A red/silver magnetic, i thought it would be so pretty but maybe it just needs to be a velvet instead? Dunno.
Thumb not pictured because thumb is cursed. :|

For instance, I decide what color to wear by what month Iām in.
For instance. I associate January with shimmery whites, blues, pearls.
February is reds, shimmery pinks, maybe purple for my birth stone.
Edit: adding more months by request:
March: greens
April: yellow, pastel colors
May: bright floral colors
June: bright neons
July: may do a red white and blue for the 4th but maybe not for the next 4 years. Lol otherwise sticking with bright neons again
August: shimmery colors again
September: neutrals, open to suggestions for September.
October: oranges (rarity) burgundy, open to more suggestions for fall colors.
November: see October
December: pearls. Greens/reds/blues anything that reminds me of Christmas or snow
Or is yours just āwhatever I feel like wearing, youāre overthinking this because youāre highā
They only have re-sellers my country. Iāve checked reviews of each of these on this subreddit and google and still canāt decide.
My friend said they want to gift me but only 2 for my birthday will fit their budget.
Both thumbnails broke at a wedding last weekend and it was time š©
Ft. Seche base, 3 coats of Leeshaās Lacquer Green Apple, and Vibrant Scents QDTC
So I love the toile print so much and was excited to do this design but I hateeee how vivid the pink is but Iām too lazy to redo my nails now.
I wish I did black, navy, or red for the toile stamp design or pink on a black background.
This is so out of my comfort zone that I canāt tell if it genuinely looks bad on my nails or if itās just my brain š
Colors: Base coat: Essie strong start
Color: 2x OPI funny bunny; Whatās Up Nails cherished blossoms for toile print stamp
Top coat: Essie speed setter over funny bunny; glisten and glow QDTC over cherished blossoms
