Does this outfit hit old money vibes?

Maybe for summer or warmer days with a blue vest instead of the long sleeve and jacket? I have 3 of these items and I’m considering buying the 4th - I would have never thought to pair them but I’ve had an epiphany tonight. Would stockings be okay with this outfit? What could I replace the blazer with for a more casual look?

Tia :)

Khaki trench coats

Hiya! I have my heart set on a khaki-coloured trench coat this year and wondering if anyone has any recommendations. My price point has me looking at uniqlo, country road, sportscraft, etc - so under $1k. Looking for something that’s decent quality for sure.

I’m travelling to japan in December (🥶) so I’m after something medium heavy (my plan is to layer up) rather than light.

What can I style with this dress..

Sorry I don’t have a photo, scored a kookai thick long sleeve winter dress today, it’s body con style. What can I layer over the top? I’m not comfortable with my stomach showing, should I try a vest? And what shoes are best with brown? Is it okay to wear black boots?

PSA Commonry is having a sale

Looks like they have 25% off at the moment. They’re usually a bit $$$ for me but with that discount I might invest in a piece or two…

Sizing of maternity wear

First time mum here, currently 10 weeks pregnant and my pants have started not fitting very well. I usually wear clothes that are rather fitted, so it’s time to get some new essentials in the wardrobe.

I am usually a size 10 and I’m a bit lost with the sizing I should be selecting for maternity wear. Do you choose the size you usually wear pre-baby with the expectation that the maternity clothing will be more roomy everywhere, or do you usually go a size or two up?

Any recommendations for fashionable maternity brands that won’t break the bank also greatly appreciated.

For now while I’m still not showing I plan to just look for size 12/M to L clothing at op shops to avoid going straight to maternity wear.

Why is it so hard to find a white t-shirt that isn’t see through?!

I’ve tried at least a dozen white tees lately and every last one of them has been see through, or not actually white (looking at you Assembly Label with your off-white bullshit).

Please give me your recommendations for a solid white tee!

Where to find GOOD quality fitted collared shirts?

Bought this from Zara as I’ve been looking for a top exactly like it for while but the quality was just awful and the sizing was worse - I’m an XXS and I couldn’t even properly do any of the buttons on the S. Princess Polly has a similar style but the reviews say the quality is also really poor. Anyone have something similar that’s of a good quality? Thanks!

Why has AliExpress changed it’s fashion?

So in peak 2020, I loves AliExpress clothing. They were actually really good quality than what I was expecting. Kinda Zara quality for most things. I was looking for a keyhole dress but the fashion was completely different. In 2020, it was mainly Korean/Chinese fashion, or what the west knows as ‘egirl’ or ‘academia’ or something. There was dainty things too. Whole range of aesthetics. Now when I try to find clothing, it’s mainly clubbing dresses or immodest clothing. Idk the quality now either. I really loved the Asian fashion it had as it was really creative compared to the west fashion

Where to buy formal dresses for a Year 12?

Hii,

I have my mid-year dinner coming up and am stressing about where to source a dress. Ideally, I'd like to try on a dress in person because I have a lot of issues finding clothes that fit correctly. Budget is 100-150ish so quite cheap (I think??). I'd like to be able to keep the dress for future formal events too.

Or I could rent a dress??? I don't know much about renting though and the process seems slightly confusing.

Does anyone have any brand/shop ideas or tips for finding a cute dress??

TIA!!

Anything similar to Lululemon flare leggings?

Thought I’d try asking here if anyone has good experience with another brand where they sell high waisted flare leggings in Asian length like Lululemon? The one from Lululemon looks great but my gosh it is $139. I’m only starting to get back into gym and would like to spend on good quality gym clothes, but this price still hurts the bank…

Also, anyone knows if Lululemon do sales often enough?

First time trying Zimmermann, looking for sizing advice.

I have fallen in love with a specific Zimmermann dress; I believe it’s called “Kaleidoscope Frill Midi Dress”, from their 2022 collection. I want to rent it for a wedding in June.

I usually wear a size 12, but am on the larger end of a 12 and have a pear-shaped body, so I can often get away with a size 14 as well.

I have found a dress rental service from interstate who are offering this dress in a Zimmermann size 3. The rental company’s website says this is equivalent to a size AU 10-12, although Zimmermann’s official size guide says a 3 is equal to an AU 14.

I reached out to the rental servicing stating all the above and asking if the dress runs small. They said the dress has no stretch and wouldn’t suit a size 14. I also cannot find the actual measurements for this dress anywhere.

Due to the company being interstate, I’m unable to try it on.

Does anyone have any insight or experience with Zimmermann sizing who can help me determine if a size 3 would fit?

Attractive thermal tops

Hi Team,

I have a thermal wool blend v neck top from Simone Perele and it’s warm but so pretty too and the v neck means it isn’t sticking out from my shirts/cardigans etc. they don’t make them anymore and I seriously wear mine a lot and it’s starting to fall apart after around 5 years I’d say.

Anyone know of any good wool blend thermal tops with a lower or plunging neckline? I have googled around a bit but struggling..

Does anyone make reasonably priced cotton PJs anymore?

Sussan used to have nice cotton PJs but I find most of their stock is made from slimy "recycled" fabrics such as viscose. Even Myer had no cotton ones at all for the summer just passed. In desperation I checked out Peter Alexander. What a load of rubbish. Very thin KMart quality pyjama pants for $80 and silly, childish designs. I guess I'm not in their demographic but I can't imagine who would pay those silly prices for such crappy quality.

A Uniqlo tragedy

I was wearing my favourite high waist ultra skinny leg jeans today from Uniqlo when I noticed that they are getting a little threadbare in places and won't be long until they have holes.

Unfortunately it looks like Uniqlo have discontinued this product! Whatever shall I do?! I don't like straight or flared, wide legs as I prefer the skinny jean look (yes I'm a millennial). Feeling very sad

How often do you wash your jumpers?

Do you wash after each wear? I don’t want to because 1. Too much work 2. Pilling 3. Risks of stretching in a weird way from hung wet etc. but I wash it because smells a bit bad around the upper back area (just below necklace) after one day of wearing, even if I don’t sweat. It’s like an old man smell. I don’t know how to describe it lol what can I do to prevent this horrible smell itself or prevent it transferring to my jumpers (a good undergarment that covers the area perhaps?)

Is Sportscraft worth the money?

I'm a first year Kindergarten teacher at a private school and I'm needing to make my wardrobe a bit more presentable/conservative. I've seen a few knits and some nice pants at Sportscraft but it seems a bit expensive. Is it worth the money? Are there any brands that are similar but perhaps less costly?

Knitwear

I just need to vent and see if anyone else is in the same boat! I usually buy very consciously and made the decision a long time ago to only buy natural fibres where possible. I’ve spent several years building up a curated collection of expensive 100% wool or cashmere knits. But what annoys me more than anything is the fkn pilling! It doesn’t matter whether it’s cheap wool or expensive wool, it all pills like crazy and makes it look cheap! I don’t have time to be getting out the wool comb every time I wear a jumper! Meanwhile I have extremely cheap acrylic knits from Dotti and target that are low maintenance and have lasted years! Anyone else experience the same or am I doing something wrong??!!

Non-ribbed tank tops?

This is proving surprisingly difficult! I just want a white tank that’s thick, not ribbed, and not one of those high-neck tanks that are trending everywhere these days. I also prefer cropped fits, but I’ll take anything

I hate seasonal & fast fashion (rant)

I dunno if it's just me but I find it so utterly frustrating that styles are only in stores for a few months it seems.

I have absolutely no interest in following micro trends and buying the latest cool item, but it that seems to be all stores really care about stocking of course. Any item I find at target or uniqlo and think about trying something on or ordering, in a week or two when I decide to actually go purchase it - out of stock or discontinued. Like what?? Some websites shouldn't even have a favourites function because it's literally pointless lol.

It's also just so annoying that it encourages me to impulse buy for fear of that item being out of stock next time I check. I'm a big wish-list user to help me decide and/or stop me from impulse buying, but I've missed out on a lot of items I would've really wanted because it's suddenly sold out Australia wide after two weeks!!

I'd love to support higher end brands that don't participate in the seasonal/fast fashion cycle as much, but I just straight up can't afford that. And don't get me started on OP shops! Literally full of fast fashion and/or damaged clothes that'll last you a few wears if you're lucky. I used to love OP shopping, but now it's just so hard to find anything decent.

Fashion for the everyday person just seems dismal right now.

Loose wide leg work pants for Size 14 +petite

Can anyone recommend where to get nice pants for work? I have a big butt and thighs, but legs are quite short. Too small to shop at plus size stores, but too big for many of the usual retail sizing! Any help would be appreciated.

Where to buy mardi mercredi clothes?

As the title suggests I want to buy mardi mercredi's clothes, but myer and david jones don't stock the brand. I want my last resort to be online shopping - I don't really want to buy something that won't fit. Any help would be great :)

Party Dress, Size 16, 30th - Help!

Hey everyone,

I’m turning 30 at the end of this month, and I’m struggling to find a dress to wear to my party. Vibes will be pretty casual, but I still want to look nice and have a bit of fun with it.

I’m a size 16, 5ft (so usually mini dresses look best on me). I’m also pretty girly, but love black. I don’t really want anything tight fitting as I’m self conscious about my tummy area.

Any ideas will be helpful, I haven’t bought a nice dress for myself in a long time, so any suggestions, or even places to shop will be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance
