So it appears that I do have narrow roots after all 💀
Freya Fancies: gore tacking, breast tissue feels supported, love the shape it gives, bra sitting in IMF. Doesn’t come up ridiculously high under the arms, the wires don’t wrap around my back they stop just short of my breast roots which seems to be just before my armpits. There is very minor starburst wrinkling so the cup is maybe .5-1 size small but nothing dramatic. Only annoying thing is the band because it’s definitely either runs big or it’s basically impossible for me to get an accurate band measurement. The cups run at least one size bigger than my viva lace side support in 36JJ when held side by side. Seems to be the same volume as the Elomi Cate. I do like the cleavage it gives and the forward/rounded shape. Usually have issues with bras pushing my boobs out wide and to the sides.
Band definitely either runs big or is too loose but it’s still supportive. Didnt fully realize yall really meant that the band should be able to support the cups on its own I was just like “Woooow” lol. Straps really far apart though I’ll probably just order the bra clips.
Elomi Cate: gore not tacking at the top causing underwires to tip into sternum. Quadding, cups not deep enough, band definitely too big. Ordered 38JJ and 36JJ because I know the band on cate runs small while the cups on fancies run large. Like the shape it provides but I hate the coverage. Bra seems to be holding my breast tissue up front and rounding it without pushing it off to the sides. It appears that I might have lost weight from everywhere besides my boobs :(
I guess at this point I’m looking for styles similar to fancies. I decided to give it a go again now that I’m at a larger size and this is definitely the best fit ive had so far so I’m getting really close finally.
According to the calculator, I was a 32 E/F in UK and 32DDD/G in US. I'm wondering what would be the best brands to find these sizes? I'm looking for something simple that I can wear everyday, probably in a nudes color. My boobs are definitely a lot more floppy now, if that helps lol!
Also if it helps, my measurements were 32, 31, 30, 37, 40, and 38, all in inches.
Hello! I think I finally found a couple bras that fit. Natori Heavenly balconette and Boux Avenue Gracey sheer balconette in 32B. I would like some lightly lined, or at least non-sheer options. Is there anything else anyone can recommend? I'm very wide set, short roots, shallow, and maybe full on top. I can't get the gore completely flat not matter what size, style, or brand I try.
Of these two bras, the Natori was really comfortable as soon as I put it on. The Boux Avenue is a bit snug in the band, but doesn't seem to dig in and would perhaps loosen up with time.
My measurements are: 29.5, 29, 28.5, 32, 33.5, 32.5. The calculator recommended a 30D, but every D cup has been too big for me.
Based on my loose underbust, a 30 band should be loose on me. So I'm confused as to why they're always uncomfortably tight and dig into my rib cage.
I’ll post my measurements below.
Loose : 89 cm Snug : 86 cm Tight : 85 cm Standing: 101 cm Leaning: 106 cm Lying: 99 cm
This is the US/CAN sizing that I went off of. I got 34G but I find it’s a bit too big? The cups are almost the right size but they’re slightly too big. I’ll link below the bras I bought. I don’t have a huge budget, I’ve been looking for bras around the $30-40 mark.
I should also mentioned that when I first did the calculator years ago, I got 32D. I have since gained weight and found the band too tight and noticed my boobs did get a bit bigger. I also did the calculator 3 different times and got 34G each time. Tried inches and cm to see if there was a difference
I used the calculator to check my size and it's says I am a 32 G/GG or 34FF/G in uk sizes. And that I have narrow roots and I have a full bottom (top shape-2, bottom shape- 5-6). Which bras which you recommend I try out? Also, I'm in the U.S. so I'm not sure which size bra l would need in U.S. terms.
Edit: the bra I’m currently wearing is 36DDD and it’s not comfortable at all
I just bought new bras from VS and none of them fit. I bought 36 and 38C. Cups all seemed too big, especially the non-padded bras. I've only liked wearing one non-padded from Lounge and it fit well, 36C, but during my "thinnest" time of the month, there would be gapping too.
I am desperate for comfortable but supportive bras. I need one for everyday and one for the gym, and no underwires. I was measured to be a 38DDD and I bought several recently but everything either pinches or creates rolls or sags. I have exhausted Nordstrom, Target, Jockey, Victoria's Secret... and I don't live in an area with specialty lingerie stores. I can only buy online if there are free returns. I know, that's a lot to ask, I am so grateful for any suggestions!
Hi there,
I haven't fit my bras in years. I actually just wear an XL bralette from daneskin that I got from winners. My old bras were a 36B/34B, since those days I put on weight and can't fit them due to the tight band.
I did my measurements and they were as followed. Loose UB: 40" Comfy: 39.5 Tight: 38.5 Standing bust: 42 Hanging bust: 44 Laying bust: 43.5
The calculator is giving me 38DD and I understand the underbust size but not the cup. My breasts only come out like 2-3 inches.
I'm concerned the bras will be too big on me, and I do only plan on ordering bralettes from blush lingerie which puts me at an XL. I just want them to fit. I have slightly uneven breasts, so my right ones protruded/hangs farther then my left one.
Any help would be appreciated!
I’m a bit overwhelmed by the amount of options, where to start with that list!? If any knowledgeable people have the time to help recommend a starting point for ordering some to try… I did the measuring calculator and got 36f/ff (I have been wearing 38d) I think I have average to slightly more projected. Definitely FOT and center fullness.
Thank you!!!
Here are some pics (new link). I tried on these two bras, one was strapless (the white one). What do you think of the fit? I feel like i cannot tell if it's very good because the brown one has those super long straps that cover my boobs. But it felt like it was my size. I really want to try a balconette style next.
And to give you an idea, i've always worn the bras from Primark which only go down to 32A. I think i mostly wear 34A.
White bra= 80A, brown one 75B (sister sizes, FR/ES)
Also btw can we stop using imgur?? Its such a pain in the ass overall, and impossibme to rearrange photos on the phone
Hello all. I'm looking for a couple of bra recommendations for my fiance, she is a 44J (US). One that is a comfortable fit for everyday wear and maybe a skimpy bikini top with a cup that is a little too small so it's busy and spills a little (for Valentines day).
I see that there are some apps for fitting as well. Please let me know if you need more information from me.
i got my bra!!!
holy shit!! i ordered a bra from boux avenue (28C) not having any expectations but im BLOWN AWAY it fits so so well im in shock. I ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE I HAVE BOOBS FOR THE FIRST TIME😭😭😭😭 well, theres a little bit of gapping on the right cup but i expected that cos my right boob is smaller than my left. but the left one fits SOOO well im amazed and SO sad that i have uneven boobs. otherwise it would be 10000% perfect on me😭😭😭 im so happy guys
Hi,
As a petite adult, I'm having trouble finding a bra that fits properly. After using the calculator on abrathatfits.org, it suggests a 26B/C.
I couldn’t find a 28A at Boux Avenue, and I’ve recently ordered that size from the Little Bra Company to test out.
Do you have any recommendations for other brands? I'm looking for every day lingerie as well as something a bit sexier.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Here are my measurements:
Loose underbust: 25 inches Snug underbust: 24.5 inches Tight underbust: 24 inches
Loose fullest part: Standing: 26.5 inches Leaning: 28 inches Lying: 27.25 inches
Hello! I'm trying to find some help with recommendations for a bra similar to the one I wear now that fits relatively well, in my opinion.
I've lost a good deal of weight over the last year and went down two band sizes. I usually shop at Torrid, but I'm now at the bottom of their sizing and just realized my favorite bra only comes in one or two colors in my band size; it's the smallest one they offer.
▪︎ Sizing after using the guide here: I did the measurement check and it seems somewhat accurate. 36F in the UK and 36G in the US.
I can't decide how to figure out my shape since my normal bra is a push-up style; I don't really have other comfortable or well-fitting bras anymore. I tried using my hand, but I couldn't decide where exactly to start looking at the shape height-wise.
▪︎ Current bra: My regular bra is a 36DDD from Torrid, their dream wireless push-up bra. I only have one that fits since losing weight.
▪︎ Bra Preferences: For a daily bra, I prefer wireless, push-up, and light to moderate lining/padding. I prefer low-cut types that push the breasts together for more cleavage but do not add-a-size level amount of cleavage. I'd also love to find a comfortable unlined bra for special occasions, wire may work for short periods of wear like an event.
Unfortunately I haven't found a bra with wire that I can wear for more than an hour or two. I believe this is due to having fibromyalgia, relatively low amounts of pressure can cause a good deal of pain. Ideally I'd like something wireless but I'm open to trying other styles if I can try them on first. Money is tight so I can't afford to buy without knowing it'll fit or without an easy return or exchange process.
I'm not sure what else I can add that might offer more information, if more specific measurements or photos would be helpful I'm happy to post/take them.
I greatly appreciate any help here, I've got generalized anxiety and this has been really difficult. I keep ending up too overwhelmed to decide what to do and don't really have anyone to shop with in person. Thanks so much in advance. ♡
(Currently looking into options for selling or trading my other bras to help fund new ones, any suggestions on where to do so would be a huge help! I have tons of bralettes and bras that are gently used/almost new, and a few even have tags; they're just all too big, unfortunately.)
I did the calculator! Here are my stats
Loose underbust: 26 Snug underbust:25 Tight underbust: 24.5 Standing bust:29 Leaning:30 Lying:29
Result: 26D???
I usually wear a 30A/B and the fit is bad.... but I've never heard of a 26 band??? And being a D seems wild to me but I've read on the sub it isn't as big as we think.
Does anyone have any recommendations for something that isn't too pricy but might fit me well?
TIA!!
I’m looking for wireless bras or camis that have a full back, like a sleeveless shirt, in 30G. Background: I have chronic shoulder problems due to (according to multiple physical therapists and exercise physiologists) immobile shoulder blades and a default posture with shoulders rolled forward and together. This is partly because bras that support in my size put rather a lot of pressure on the band, which impedes protraction of the shoulder blades: the upward and forward rotation the shoulder blades should make below the armpits to raise the arms—again, per PT. Shifting that pressure to the shoulder straps by wearing a looser band isn’t great either, though. Living my life braless is not an option. The one thing that seems to help is wireless bras or camis that distribute the load across a fuller but less restrictive support structure: a full back and wider straps. Think, more like a stretchy sleeveless shirt with cups rather than a conventional bra. The best options I’ve found so far in my size are Understance’s Soft Sculpt Wireless Lift Cami, and Molke (as long as I don’t go too snug in the band). True & Co, Evelyn & Bobbie, and Cosabella styles did not work—they created a single, downward-pointing uniboob in the middle of my chest—actually worse than no bra at all. I would love to find more options if anyone has suggestions.
Note: I am 100% sure of my size, per the ABTF calculator, multiple fittings at retailers that specialize in my size range, and many years of trying innumerable conventional bras. And unfortunately, the strap position—wide-set, center-pull, racer-back, crossed, J-hook—isn’t enough to fix the problem with conventional bras, although some (center-pull) are better than others.
I did the measurement calculator and below are my results. I’m having such a hard time finding anything “cute”. I have always worn lacy, sexier style bras and it is really bothering me that most of what I can buy in my size are just plain or over $70. I know a good bra is an investment, but I’m so scared to spend that on something that doesn’t fit. I am 6 mo postpartum, breastfeeding. If anyone has any suggestions, I will be forever grateful! With V Day coming up I wanted to surprise my husband with a cute boudoir shoot and finding lingerie is a nightmare..
Loose Underbust - 30.5 in Snug Underbust - 30 in Tight Underbust - 29.5 in Standing Bust - 35.5 in Leaning Bust - 41 in Lying Bust - 35.5 in Size - 30G/H Sister size - 32 DDD/G
I’ve been wearing a 36A(US) pepper bra for the last year or two and I was very happy with it compared to when I’d been incorrectly sized and wearing a 38C for many years. my weight does fluctuate a bit, but I realized over time that I have problems with gapping at the top of the cups, constantly tightening my straps and the band slightly riding up. I used the calculator and get 32D and I cannot see that being possible. I’ve even considered buying a AA before so a D feels silly. Is it overestimation of the cups or something? Also, I’m a bit outward splaying and hoping to find a plunge bra with push-up for some side support. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Approximate measurements are loose underbust: 32 in snug underbust: 31 in tight underbust: 30 in standing bust: 35 in leaning bust: 36 in lying bust: 37 in
edit- I am astonished that no one in my life seems to know bras actually work this way and it’s sad to me that I and maybe others weren’t taught correctly. Women deserve to understand and be able to care for their fat sacs so I’m excited to share this calculator with people who need it like myself :) anyway, I am so excited to try a D and maybe have a great fit! Thank you sm for explanations and I will update when I return home from my trip and buy one.
Not sure how many people this will apply to, but if like me you logged into Bratabase through Reddit, you will have to reset your password.
I had been wondering why I couldn't log in for the last week or so, then today I got a screen telling me Reddit has blocked access to Bratabase. Good news is you can just follow the "Reset password" button at the bottom, which took me about 30 seconds and I'm back in to my account.
Just wanted to post this in case anyone is still getting mysterious login errors!
So I (25 MTF) a trans woman who has been on hormones for 3 years (and a 38DD lol lucky me) on to wear the favorite tshirt bra by bare necessities? I have seen that bare necessities is trans friendly and I have more of a teardrop shape naturally and I’ve had problems with lightly lined tshirt bras that are full coverage. Will that bra fit the girls and should I not have gaping? (They are wide set too)
Hey! I'm Australian and shop online a lot from stores in the USA and the UK, and I entered my measurements into the calculator via inches:
Loose: 26 inches
Snug: 25
Tight: 23.5
Standing: 32
Leaning: 34
Lying: 32
The calculator gave me 4G in AU sizes, 26H in US sizes and 26FF in UK. Idk much about bra measurements and lettering. It's hard to find my band size in most affordable stores, so I tend to sister size to 30 band, 28 if possible.
Before I measured, I wore a 28DD or a 30D and it was hard to breathe in it and the underwire poked into my ribs (I have a prominent ribcage). I got fitted at 13 and got shoved into a 10A (32A) and it was hellish lmao.
I want to actually find my bra size, or at least a potential sister size so I can find some nicer bras, yet I'm confused about how to sister size when lettering systems in stores are all over the place. Any advice?
I've looked at online images of actual 26H's and it seems about accurate, although it shocked me hard because I look like a stereotypical "B/C cup"
I’ve been wearing US 32DD bras for a while, but they are way too small for me. I was sized at a US 32I using the calculator, however when I bought a Panache bra that size was way too big for me. I instead tried a US 32G and it fit much better. The gore lays flat and I can do the swoop and scoop without center spillage. However, I’m having problems with the underwire. It is much wider than the 32DD and comes too far underneath my armpits that it pokes me. Is there a way to get a 32DD underwire with a more projected cup?
I've been struggling to find a bra that fits me properly and checks all my preferences. I was recommended the calculator here when I asked for help and still no luck. It's super discouraging and took a chunk out of my self-confidence. Didn't help that last time I went to try I noticed that sizing isn't consistent so two bras labeled the same size won't fit the same. One was too small in the cup and band while the other fit well in the band but the cup was too big. My measurements are Loose underbust:37in, Snug underbust:36in, Tight underbust:35in, Standing bust:42in, Leaning bust:44in, Lying bust:42in. But from what I can tell I think I have shallow breasts which is making this a bit more challenging. I'm trying to look for bras with underwire and bras that aren't full coverage more like half, demi, or balconette. Is there any other tips besides the calculator that would make finding a bra less stressful? Maybe recommendations from others with a similar chest situation? I'm so close to giving up and continuing to just wear sports bras for the rest of my life.
I measured and originally got 30DDD, then remeasured to double check and got 32D/DD instead (which seems more accurate). I knew my bra size was off, but I wasn’t sure if it was a cup or band problem. My straps always fell down my shoulders, but my boobs didn’t feel supported enough. The band still felt too tight, though. I tried on one of my sister’s old 34D bras, which didn’t seem to fit me right. It was also Victoria’s Secret though (which is insanely off 24/7). Is it worth it to try either or both sizes?
I’ve never bought a push up bra before and I thought it’d be easy to find one but when I went to Victoria Secret today I had no luck. All the push up bras seem to be made for people whose boobs lie solely facing forward. My boobs seem to have more mass towards my armpit so I need something that pushes up and inward a lot. Any recommendations?
Hello!
I just measured myself properly for the first time, and it turns out I’m a 34DD, and not a 36B like I thought. Damn. Naturally, I want to buy some bras that properly fit, and eventually decided on Wacoal. However, I’ve been seeing quite a few statements on here saying that the bands run small. Should I size up to a 36DD, or do something else? I’m completely new to this, so any recommendations/questions are thoroughly appreciated :)
My exact sizing is:
Loose Underbust: 90 cm
Snug Underbust: 86 cm
Tight Underbust: 83 cm
Standing Bust: 100 cm
Leaning Bust: 103 cm
Lying Bust: 104
I iinitially calculated my size as 34DD but re measured in a mirror + completely exhaled. I now get 34E.
After calculating my size as 34DD I got an aerie unlined plunge smoothez bra in 34 DD and i really like it, especially the material and colour (dark red!!) but there are a couple fit problems. I also got a Freya fancies bra in 34E that is not working out for me.
I'm not sure about my band size. For the aerie bra, 34 feels great at the tightest hook, until I learned you're supposed to start at the loosest hook which is... less great. After a few wears it's starting to loosen a bit already. The Freya one in 34 was ok. My snug underbust is 32, but the calculator gave me 34, so I'm wondering if I should try a smaller band.
The underwire for the aerie bra connects on the inner and outer parts of the inframammary line, but the curve of the wire leaves an empty space between the bottom centre of each inframammary line and the wire. I try to line it up and then the sideboob and inner corner boob just push the whole thing down again lol. The same thing is happening with the Freya bra.
The gore on the aerie bra is fine but it does slightly float in some positions and I can tell I'm too center full for it, especially once I s&s. The gore on the Freya bra tacks but I hate it. If this is considered a plunge, I'm screwed... The gore is too wide and tall and irritating on the skin. the skin between my boobs is super sensitive and acne prone, so I don't think I can just get used to tall gores - the shorter gores the better
My other sensitivity is my armpits. I don't like the strap or edge of the cup to dig in to the tail of spence or in to the valley that separates the TOS from my boob. I have a very pronounced tail of spence that makes a distinct bump. The cups of the aerie bra hold my TOS in some positions and it feels so much better to me (although it creates a gap in the cup). This is partly a body image issue, mostly a sensory thing. The Freya bra digs in a lot in the pit area and the fabric makes it intolerable. I know that a cup isn't supposed to hold your tail of spence :( but if there's any bra with straps, panels, or side support that could sort of secure/flatten that area and make it feel compressed, i would LOVE that.
I'm still not sure how projected I am tbh. My best guess is that I'm projected on the bottom and shallow on top, if that's possible. It left a lot of gapping on top in the Freya bra.. my roots appear short, but it's unclear where the top is.
The Freya fancies bra is not for me. I couldn't wear it longer than an hour. The wire problem is not solved, exact same problem of it connecting on the inner and outer corners with a space at the very bottom. Does that mean the wire is too narrow? And then the gapping and wrinkling at the top of the cup is terrible, scooping and swooping helps moderately but there's still empty space. When I pull the top lace further up and in, it won't stay there but it captures more tissue, so E cup may still be correct and this is just an issue with the bra being too projected at the top? As my final whinge, the lace fabric is extremely irritating on my skin.
Sorry for the rambling. To summarize, any feedback on fit/sizing or bra recommendations for FOB, centre full, wide root? I think I can only do plunges/low+narrow gore. Bonus points for tail of spence compression/coverage and sensory friendly fabric, but I recognize that I probably can't get everyrhing I want. Thanks to anyone who is willing to read all that and give some advice lol!!

I am going to lose my shit if I see one more bra that's clearly not a 28B on Mercari or Poshmark because sellers are just choosing a random size that they don't think exists/that they have no idea is for small bands and small cups
I thought I was a 38dd. I got measured at Victora's Secret 3 months ago and was given a 40c bra for a comfort bra, so I figured I was a 38dd. But I did notice that it fit a bit snug. Recently when I used the calcuator, it's telling me that I'm 38ddd/g??? I'm so confused! Is this accurate? I made sure I was careful when measuring and following the directions.
