Ive seen countless posts about how not having V8s will kill Dodge and that this is all the governments fault because they're forcing electrification on everyone. But my question is, who was the genius who slimmed down the Dodge line up to just 3 vehicles?
Im not sure if alot of yall are old enough to remember, but back in the day the fastest Dodge was the Viper and the 2nd was the Neon. Neither had a V8. On top of that, why doesnt Dodge have an actual line up anymore? No minivan, no compact, no midsized sedan, no crossover, no trucks. Just the Charger, the Challenger and the Durango. What on earth kind of line up is that??
Do I want the Hemi V8 back? Yes, of course I do. But let's not pretend that killing that off was the worst thing to happen to Dodge.
Anyways, thanks for coming to my Ted talk, be sure to stay off my lawn!
Asking for my dad: 2005 model 2500 cummins diesel with an automatic transmission. The car is currently having problems with the gears not switching right, won’t automatically switch to either 3rd or 4th gear when driving normally. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be the problem? We have already been to several mechanics who can’t figure out what the problem is, and google doesn’t seem to be any help either. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated:)
I want a great combination of power & driveability.
Hey guys,
I need some advice please! I bought a brand new 2023 Dodge Challenger SXT back in May. I live in Alberta, Canada. In July, I started noticing a creaking noise coming from the rear right side of the car. The noise is extremely evident inside the cabin during start and stop. Since the car is under warranty, I took it the dealership right away.
They went through two rounds of repairs, replacing the lower controller arm, and then the entire rear subframe. Neither fixed the noise problem.
Next, the dealership's body shop and mechanic shop got together to brainstorm, and no matter how many things they tried, they could not diagnose the source of the noise. Next, we went into the process of escalating the issue from the dealership to the manufacturer themselves and getting Dodge involved.
The Dodge engineers then began corresponding with the local dealership's body shop and mechanic shop and they STILL haven't been able to resolve the issue. It has been 6 months of my car sitting on their lot, with no resolution in sight. To make matters worse, the dealership ignores my calls now and they never have any updates when I do rarely get ahold of anyone. It seems like Dodge is giving the dealership the runaround and they are in turn doing the same to me.
I managed to discern from some people involved that there is a proposed repair that has been quoted to Dodge, but Dodge is not approving it because they want to see if my car's welding is up to spec. The problem is, the only way to do that is to bring in another 2023 Challenger SXT into the shop and compare the two. Given this car is not in production anymore, there are none sitting on any lots in my city.
So I come here to ask, should I just go and take my car back and live with the creak? Should I keep holding out? Does anyone have a similar experience or any thoughts at all on how I should proceed?
Also, to get ahead of things, we don't have Lemon Laws in Alberta. We also don't have any provincial or federal policy/law body the obligates Dodge to resolve this matter in any sort of way.
Thanks a lot!
Vibrations
I just bought this 2022 wide body scatpack charger about 3 months ago and noticed a slight vibration when i get over 65 mph. i've talked to a few mechanics, gotten an alignment twice, thorough inspection, changed all four tires, and even changed wheels but nothing has fixed it. I'll mention that after each alignment, the vibration seemed to have gone away but then i've taken the wheels off to change my brakes and the vibration is back. It isn't violent vibration but definitely noticeable. i've torque wrenched the wheels at 130 ft lbs and 120 ft lbs but no fix. Any thoughts?
Back in the day I remember friends driving cars with fat mags on the back of their cars. We used to call them 60's for some reason (I'm auto challenged).
I just bought a Charger and was wondering if I can make this muscle car more muscley.
I know since it's an AWD that the tires need to be identical.
I get it in 2 days - CAN'T WAIT!
My boyfriend needs to replace the driver seat on his 2020 dodge charger due to the motor of the electric seat breaking. He has the new part but cannot get the original seat out because the bolt is covered by the seat which is immovable. Can anyone help?
Hello! I am an owner of a Dodge journey 2012. I bought it in America and then moved to Canada. To register it in Canada I need the daylights to be automatic whenever the car is on, unfortunately Dodge America has disabled this. Even though it's in my dashboard to turn them on it does not work. How do I disable it and make the running lights always on like in Canadian another offseason sales? When I talked to anyone up here it's at 5 to 8 hour process costing over a grand which I can't afford right now especially since getting it registered up here it's so much. I have a basic knowledge of cars but I really really need help!
Thanks for even reading I'm lost and I need help.
Does anyone know exactly when or at what RPM the 5.7 deactivates 4 cylinders? I drive a 06 R/T, noticed I didn’t burn nearly as much gas as I normally do on a regular day going to work and back home. It’s also been rainy these past few days so I haven’t been getting up on it as much obviously but I’ve always been curious when I’m running on 4 cylinders.
Just dropped the new engine in. The bottom 2 codes pop up together and no clue how to fix this. Anybody know anything?
I have 2 static wires connected but the firewall ground goes where?
I have the 2 static wires connected but the 3 isnt not and idk where it goes. Code NO BUS on dash
The ground wire attached to the firewall, along with the 2 static lines are connected but the 3 isnt and idk where it goes. NO BUS on dash.
Maybe someone has measured cargo dimensions of Durango with all seats folded? (2014 onwards)
Would love to know what’s the maximum length of it as well as if you can get it perfectly flat
Thanks
I know this may be sacrilege to suggest a creation like this but I’m a huge dodge fan and I got a 4 cylinder 2024 mustang what do you think I could do to make it into a hellcat mustang like obviously get the badges but like affordable engines or interior ideas? Or ways to make it sound louder
Hey yall! I’ve had my journey for 2 years and have had constant problems, I wanted to know if anyone here could help some. When I first got the car it drove fine, then one day broke down. I couldn’t get it to start, and if it did it would turn right off. I replaced the crank shaft position sensor, after that it would drive fine. I also had two misfires and bad fuel injectors so I just replaced all spark plugs and injectors. A bit down the line, maybe a week, it started jerking when driving. The rpm’s would drop as if the car cut off for a split second. Then it started turning off if you accelerated too fast or too much. I had to watch the rpm’s and make sure they didn’t shoot up too fast so it didn’t cut off. I got my gas tank cleaned and replaced my fuel pump. After that, the car cut off much less and the jerks were still there but subtle. Then I found out if I drive over 80 the car would shut off, I tested this multiple times to see if it was a coincidence or not. I took it to get a diagnostic on it. I was told I need a fuel tank pressure sensor, I looked it up and couldn’t find it. I’ve taken my car to 5 different places and gotten up with two dodge dealerships and they all say my car doesn’t have that part. I’m still trying to figure out what that’s about. recently my car does this combo where the voltage light flashes, traction control turns off, and intense jerking. It’s like when you’re driving a manual and you have a rough shift and lag a little. It started doing it only when I filled up my car, then it was when I have less than a quarter tank. Now it just does it at random. I’ve gotten my battery checked twice because of the voltage and was told there’s nothing wrong with it. My car has had a plethora of other issues, but these are the main ones I’m dealing with. Any help would be great cause I’m at my wits end almost.
The car has been located in CT. It is a white dodge durango srt. Newer body style. Red calipers. OEM Dodge rims. All windows are tinted but it looks like the front windows are a tiny bit brighter.
The car is in good condition. No broken windows, interior looks good. The front wheels look cambered in.
It was reported stolen in New York / NYC on 12/5. If you are the owner, please message me and I will get you in contact with the company that has it now.
looking into a marketplace listing for a 1990 2.5L daytona, and it seems like it's missing a part? i looked up the engine bay of other 1990 daytonas and it seems like something was supposed to be there
I need to move a piece of art that is 5’ by 5’ and want to see if it’ll fit diagonally in the rear with the seats folded down….
I inherited my mom's 24 Hornet and drove it twice during a winter storm (in Michigan) and while coasting up to a red light in my town (going less than 25 and no gas or breaking involved) and the back end fishtailed 3 different times. I had my hubby drive the same stretch and it did the same thing to him. It has happened as well when hitting the gas or breaking on different roads. It is not a normal response to icy roads. We added extra weight in the back and did not help. The Hornet as all weather tires on and it's a new car (less than 6,000 miles) so the tires are still good. We are at a loss as to why it is doing this. The dealership checked it out and cannot find anything wrong with it and asked for me to stop by during another storm to recreate the fishtailing. I am wondering if we bough winter tires if that would help. Anyone else dealt with something similar?
