Hello, I am looking to buy a Dodge Charger R / T with Plus group option.
2023 new ones are listed at around $42k (after applying qualifying discounts) at local dealerships.
There's a 2022 Charger R / T used one with similar option with 25k miles listed for around $33k.
I will be using this car only for 2 years from now, since I will be moving to a different country post that.
Considering that, which one do you all think will incur me least depreciation when I sell?
This is in California. Above prices are before tax and title.
Appreciate the inputs.
Thanks.
Been getting less gas mileage then usually. Also to add it changes quick like if I’m driving and it’s at 19.9 it will go down to 19.8 just by pressing on the gas slightly, and when I leave my car in the garage over night if I’m at 19.9 when I start my car first thing when I wake up it will be at like 19.8 I don’t see how it could go down sitting in my garage. Took it to the dealership for a check up and oil change they said everything is in good conditions. I don’t think I mentioned the mpg changes , but they said they drove it and I guess put a reader in the slot to see if the computer picked up anything but they said everything is fine. I just don’t remember my car doing this. Like when I first got my car it would take my car awhile to get Lower mpg unless I was stepping on the gas. But just driving normal I averaged more mpg then I do now, it actually improved. But now even driving normal unless I’m on the interstate I always get less.
I just bought a 2023 challenger yesterday and they said dodge doesn’t service for free all maintainence issues but my friend has a 2023 mustang. He doesn’t pay for any service issues like engine oil or alignment. I was wondering if they got me fooled or is it like this at every dodge dealership
I figured an open discussion on this topic might be interesting, I understand if money is tight or if it’s your first car. But if you had the money for say a v6 charger or the charger R/T, would you still choose the v6? As a back story I used to own a v6 charger so I get it, but I purchased that as my very first vehicle. Now I own a 5.7 but if I had the money and means back then I definitely would have never gotten the v6. And no I’m not hating on the v6 it’s a decent engine for what it is. I’m just curious as to others motivation to go for that over the v8 given the choice.
On going issue with turning over when vehicle hasn't been started for an extended period of time or warmer weather. Dodge had it for over a month and couldn't figure it out, diagnostics on fuel pump and starter came back fine. I originally replaced the battery first time this started. Hoping someone has seen this before!
Surprised this hasn't been posted yet.
i have a 2018 chrysler 300s 5.7 rwd i’m wondering if theres any way i could possibly swap my engine block from a 345 hemi to a 411 hemi while making it work with the included 300s cluster & features, would a unlocked pcm & tune do the trick or is their more to it?
My challenger hellcat is having issues starting up, it will try to start but won’t actually crank up but I’m not sure what it could be ? Could it be a bad battery or do I have to replace the alternator ?
I am trying to figure out if what I am hearing is normal. When I am backing up in my Durango I am getting a whine. It sounds like a very quiet siren, you can definitely hear it more clearly with the window down. I have owned it since new but I am not sure if this is normal or not.
37k miles 3.6 - AWD
Diffs and PTU or whatever they call it in AWD - serviced at 30k.
Thanks!
I went car shopping today and the salesman showed me the numbers. I asked what was the $2k on the add on section and he stated it was for the clear coat protection, LoJack and the etching on the parts under the hood that can be seen by a blacklight and they all standard with the car. I've never heard of the etching before or that you must get the LoJack with the car. Anybody heard of this etching?
So earlier last summer, I bought a Dodge charger with a blown V8 I put a new V6 in it ( because it was in my price range at the time ), but the engine blew in the V6 at this point in time I’m wanting to go back to a V-8 does anyone know where I can get a 2009 dodge charger V8 crate engine and what will I be able to reuse from the V6?
I bought this car a month ago and just got home from work and thought i heard something weird. Is this normal? Its a V6 Challenger
I know dodge hornet gets a bad rep for reliability, but is it really that bad? I want to here from people who own the car and their experience.
From my knowledge, the higher tech trims like the rt plus is what causes the most issue. I really like the car and i want a real insider perspective.
Please let me know!
Hello I bought a 2006 charge rt earlier last year and wanted to buy a newer crate engine but mopar doesn’t have a 2006 srt8 crate engine but they have the 2016 srt crate engine so I was wondering if it would fit in my car or will there be issues trying to get it in??
One is obviously newer, but it seems like the 2008 cars sell for about the same price as I could use to buy a 6 years newer model. Even the mileage and the condition of the car is something I’m taking into account.
Is there a catch to this or is this just how vehicles work and I’m too new of a driver to understand? Lol
I recently just picked up my dodge Durango tow n go but I wanna convert it to a SRT does anyone know what I would need aside from the motor?
Didn’t know it left 4/30 so my hope of saving up for a new charger was just flushed down the drain 🙃 see y’all in another year I hope.
I have a different variation of this classic problem of the trunk light not working in the Dodge trunk mechanism and circuitry that the Avenger, Challenger, and other cars share.
Except the problem doesn't seem at the latch this time.
I checked and currently the circuit at the latch and switch are fine- when the trunk is open I am getting the DECK indicator on dash display, for the trunk being open. And it disappears when the trunk is closed, as it should.
So this would seem to imply it's not bad contact of the leaf spring style mechanical contact within the latch, that typically is the issue that takes out both the trunk open indicator and light function.
However- there is no change in voltage at the trunk light connector when trunk is open. Bulb is tested good, and continuity at the connector and the bulb is good.
The problem is that 12 Volts of voltage is not being sent to the trunk light circuit. I have removed the plastic light fixture, and tested at the connector pins and wire junctions themselves. Pins and wires are clean and non-corroded.
The wires don't seem to be severed, as there is some small level of ambient voltage at all times. It just never jumps up to the necessary 12 when the trunk is open. Any ideas where the issue might lie? Fuse? Circuit? Thanks

Is there is a difference in the 2.4L Air Conditioning quality ???
Had a 3.6L Journey and A/C worked well enough.
For some reason I feel like the base model Journey might not have as good of an A/C system as the top of the line model had???
Any hot climate folks out there? Las Vegas, Pheonix etc etc ??
Curious how it performs in the thick of it...
Just installed a Skar amp and sub, radio says set to ignition to run. Using an loc that is tapped into the front left door speakers, radio says set ignition to run. Tried doing the 30mph and letting it set on run but nothing works
I know this is for dodge cars and trucks but just wondering whats the best place to get a custom hood for a chrysler 300s 2015-2023 awd v6.
Will this “Buff out” or no
