Thoughts on San Joaquin valley homes? We are about to purchase one but discovered bad reviews on yelp.
We are currently looking for technicians at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport with the Federal Aviation Administration. These are federal positions and our manager has on the spot hiring authority. I will ask for no PII through reddit and any info will be sent to an FAA.GOV email address.
We are looking to fill 3 permanant positions under RADAR (RADAR and network based), Communications/Navigation (radios, VORTAC and Instrument Landing Systems) and Environmental (Electrician, HVAC and Lighted NAVAIDS). There is no necessary specific experience with the systems but a general knowledge in these fields. The FAA has an extensive training program that requires OJT and Certification.
Feel free to ask questions and DM this account (I made a throw away account) with any specifics.

My partner and I are looking at some for $2365-$2445. Is anyone paying similar and how much is it after utilities and what not? How much is it taxed or if there is any? Sorry I’m noob lol first time renter. Also got a job offer for $104k starting but a lot of it will be taxed. My partner makes $85k. Why is it so expensive to live nowadays lol
Hi, new to the group. My wife and I are moving to Tulare County and considering different areas. Woodlake seems to be capturing our attention right now but I was hoping for a little feedback. Weve seen recent(ish) news about flooding there but we're not sure if that is a significant risk or not, and more generally we are just wondering if there are other issues or concerns we may not be seeing looking from the outside in.
Also, likely working in Visalia and would not prefer a super long commute (30mins or less =i deal). Should we consider other communities?
Thanks for any thoughts and advice. Cheers.
*Apologies if this is not the right place to ask this. I’ve tried asking around on a few subreddits and just looking for any info to help out. Thanks in advance!
I’ve been applying for a few different positions with the City of Fresno. I received an email today for a temporary opportunity that has the same title as one of the positions I originally applied for. Assignment is expected to last 6 months, but says 12 months if approved. The email says it is an invitation to be considered for a limited work assignment.
Background: I currently have a full-time job in the private sector in Operations Management and this would be my first step into the public sector which I’ve been wanting to transition into.
I’m worried about leaving the full-time job I have now for a temporary opportunity. With the City, what is the possibility that this can become permanent? Do temporary employees receive benefits? Is this a good foot in the door opportunity to get into the public sector?
The email did say if I decline, I will still be on the list for future permanent vacancies so not sure if I should do that instead and continue waiting.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
