I've been thinking on and off somewhere in California I'd like to have as a home base for a while that's close to the Sierra, but without a lot of the rain and cold weather that occasionally comes through NorCal. The forecast for Sacramento this week looks terrible and I don't think I could deal with a week of rain and cloudiness like that even if it's just a couple times a year that it happens. What are some dry and safe areas that are a little more south of Sacramento? I already know Bakersfield is out of question. What about areas around fresno, merced, or maybe some foothill towns possibly.
My only preferences are within 30 minutes or so to a bigger town for work and access to the Sierra for all the hiking. I don't care about dating, nightlife, no kids, not buying a home.
Hello everyone, I had a possible Dmv Question. On my way back from my thanksgiving trip I was pulled over and the officer said there was a ‘DC’ Fine of $44. She didn’t know what it was and ended up letting me go but i would love to get this handled and not be so stressed to drive.

Hi I'm looking to buy a house and wanted to know who might be able to refer me to a good agent in Modesto?
I am a senior at my high school and a member of my school's engineering pathway. This year we were encouraged to venture on our own and explore topics that interest us. I found the medical side of engineering to be interesting, and as such, decided to look into medical devices and diagnostics. I finally decided to focus on Valley Fever, as the number of reported cases in California have only been increasing. I want to create a proof-of-concept for a Valley Fever self-diagnostic. I have developed a few initial design concepts, which are shown in the survey I have provided below. Please, if you have time, consider filling out the survey and providing any feedback you may have on these designs. Your responses will help me gather valuable data, which will go a long way in helping me complete this project.
Anybody looking to go solar in central California?
I already make horrible decisions by buying food from people without proper licensing. Today the person I usually buy tamales from, dropped off Mexican shrimp cocktail and ceviche. With it, she included individually packed saltine crackers and a sandwich size ziplock bag full of tortilla chips. When I take out the ziplock, I realize it was ripped. Upon further inspection, it looks like a gnawed hole including teeth size punctures. I reached out to let her know and she says it was most likely their 2 year old Grand-Daughter. Before I said it looked like it was bitten off, they themselves said they “don’t have animals at home. Have had pest control for years.” Didn’t offer a refund. Not even partially. Had the audacity to say she would drop off more chips but never showed up. So, 2 year old child or rat? 🐀
