Stocktonian here but we're in San Diego for 5 days now. Read a lot on fb about how people didn't have trick or treaters and how some had 100s (might be an exaggeration).

Wanted to know, did you guys have trick or treaters? What area do you live?

I got my summons for the week of the 5th. With the cyberattack happening and their phone lines, website, etc being down, how the hell am I (and everyone else!!!) supposed to check my status or know when to appear if the courts aren’t being transparent in what’s happening?

The SjSuperior twitter has an update from yesterday, and excused those told to report this week. There’s been no updates since.

I'm Oakland born & raised and have been visiting Stockton lately. Living here temporarily and while of course there are pleasant people here and I love the south Asian food & taco trucks. (Something that the east bay area has. REALLY good Asian food)

I just sense that people in Stockton are a bit more segregated by race & ethnicity and there isn't as much community as the entire east bay. In Oakland & the general east bay it's much easier for me to strike up a conversation with people & people approach me almost daily.

As a black person in Stockton I just sense way more stand offish vibes. I really love the martial groups I'm a part of though but it'd be nice to see more inclusion outside of that.

Hey everyone, does anyone know if there are any beginner belly dancing classes in Stockton? I thought it would be fun to have fun learning something new & hopefully get toned in the process!

Anybody in their 30s want to start a social club? I feel embarrassed that I am a grown adult with no friends. I can’t rely on school anymore for the socialization and I am not a bar/club girl but I do love cafes. However I end up sitting alone with my air pods people watching which makes me feel even more disconnected from the world. Idk just putting this out there. Would be nice to kick it with my fellow 30-somethings.

I'm planning out a future commute using ACE and am considering parking at or near the ACE station. I would be leaving the car parked for 2 consecutive nights each week, which appears to be allowed in some of the ACE lots. Does anyone have experience with overnight parking here?

ETA: I think a lot of people commenting “Stockton does have problems tho” are not getting the point of this post. I understand and know that Stockton has its issues, it’s far from perfect….but it’s basic decency to not say “oh what a shithole” to your coworker WHO LIVES THERE.

Man I don’t want to sound lame, but it’s really discouraging when I tell people at work where I’m from (we are all spread across the US) and 99% of the time they have to say something goddamn negative.

Today I was told “oh I heard Stockton is the Compton of Northern California”.

It honestly feels like I get discriminated against (among some other reasons). It’s every damn person, even management that make these annoying remarks.

I hate to lie but I feel like it’d be easier to say “I’m from (some small outlier town)”.

I’m tired of explaining that no not all of Stockton is like this, we have amazing history, and great food….

I have had some bad experiences with the last couple of haircuts I received. I am a male with long hair and I want to get my haircut at least 10 inches or more, and I am looking for someone skilled with scissors. What's going on the past few weeks or so I've been having to shut my house up cuz of a really bad smoke coming in? Idk if it's someone's fireplace or sonething cuz I'm on the second floor ?? I moved the trash cans outside at night and when I went outside in the morning, I see that one trash can is missing. I asked my neighbor and they don’t have any video of that. What can I do about this?
