Pregnant with my first child and I’m planning to go back to work after maternity leaves runs out. Original plan was to pay grandparents to watch the kid however that is no longer an option. Im a young female medical professional and will be working at 2 offices in Herndon and clovis ( they gave me the option to chose 3 days in one and 2 days in another office ). I'm looking for a nice /safe neighborhood to rent a condo or an apartment. Im by myself and prefer an apartment community. I really don't have a specific budget. Any comments/advice on neighborhoods and areas to stay away from would be appreciated.

(CA) Questions on new owner raising rent

SO and I rent a studio in CA. It is a 3 home plot. Both other homes are at least 2 bed and bath mine 1 and 1 also no front yard we all share a driveway. Rent was 575 before January, new lease under a new property management company was 620. Informed us about a month ago they plan to sell. Sold for 310,000. Og owner bought for 170,000. New landlord came by with the new lease, rent is now $950 with water/trash +pge. Sidenote: Only one 8000 btu window ac in living room. Purchased 12,000 btu unit from home depot and had maintenance team install before house was sold. Have receipts and correspondence with office. My question: Is this legal? Is the lease we just signed moot? Our rent has been increased this year already. If legal can I negotiate for a lower monthly rate? Landlord said no security deposit as if he was doing me a favor. Also I understand even with the increase my rent may seem very low and priviledged but please believe me when i say it is a STUDIO lol very tiny

Who needs help? Camp El-O-Win is a campground located on Dinkey Creek that has hosted programs for girls 5-17 for over 60 years! It’s owned and operated by a local nonprofit whose sole purpose is to maintain the grounds to ensure young girls of the Central Valley have a safe place to learn, grow, and experience nature in its purest form.

What do they need help with? Over the years, there’s been a laundry list of upgrades, repairs, and renovations that has built up, many of them required in order to keep the camp in working order. The board that oversees the operations is made up of passionate volunteers, but much of the work is outside their scope of knowledge.

How can you help? In short: in order to keep operating safely, they need resources. Updated amenities are needed to maintain camper registration, but amenities cost money. Money comes from camper registrations and donations, but those are dwindling due to lack of name exposure to the community.

If you or someone you know runs a business dealing in construction (contractors, plumbers, electricians, concrete, etc) and are willing to donate time, knowledge, resources, projects, etc we could use help renovating our amenities.

If you love nature, we have a ton of options for you to come visit and volunteer your time!

If you are a parent of a school-age girl, we’d love to host her for one of our summer sessions! Archery, Horseback Riding, Canoeing, and more! Sign her up for a program!

How safe is it? Also any advice on where to live? I have looked at some apartments that seem nice but reviews say otherwise.
