Soft water treatment

Hello fellow redditors I am searching for a company that will put a system in for us and put us on a payment plan.

I can’t recall the one company I called, they wanted me to pay off like 9-11k BEFORE they put a system in.

I’m not against that idea, I’d just rather send a monthly payment in rather than dishing out 10k. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Anyone else notice this trend of apartments making you pay for utilities now?

Got hit with the rent bill this morning and it was about 50$ higher than usual. I asked what gives and they told me they changing us from a flat rate charge for utilities to a variable charge. I don’t get how they can do that based on what they say the utility fees are based off. I swear I was never charged like this prior to Covid. Are apartment landlords and companies really struggling or is this greed?

Is John’s Incredible worth it just for lunch?

I’m working down the street and currently unable to drive due to seizures so my walkable lunch options are limited. I’m sick of the fast food and have been going to Teriyaki Don, Eddie’s Bakery, RN for some pickup. I’m wondering if the pizza buffet is worth it? Also if anyone has other recommendations for lunch near Cedar and Herndon that can be walked to I would GREATLY appreciate it!

Edit: THANK YOU to everyone who contributed! I went to retro junction and had a pretty good burrito (it was a Hispanic couple running it and I didn’t burger options). I’ll be back to work on Monday and I’ll be trying Mike’s with some other people here. I’ll make sure to try other recommendations too!

Estate Sale Advice

I’ll be having an estate sale with basically the contents of an entire house in the near future. Does anyone have advice? Pricing, day of the week, advertising?

Query: Fresno Metropolitan Museum of Art - Snuff Bottle Collection

I fondly remember this collection and its tiny showcase room near the entrance. I moved away years ago but was sad to hear the museum closed and the collection was sold, and I'm now weirdly invested in recollecting those bottles. Maybe to donate to another museum.

I think I've found some on Craigslist and a few in the clovis antique shops, but wanted to find anyone that ACTUALLY KNOWS what was in that exhibit? Is there a book or any paperwork that has information?

Also any historians I'm happy to hear from you how to check for authentication. 😀

Walkable areas?

Visiting Fresno.

I know in general Fresno isn’t very walkable but are there any small areas that have pedestrian-friendly urbanism (coffee shops, parks, etc…) that I could check out?

PSA from a restaurant worker: Today is Halloween, AKA the busiest day of the year 🍕

Just a friendly reminder that Halloween is one of the craziest days for pizza places, 2nd to Valentine's day. If you’re ordering tonight, please be patient with us. Trust me, we’re doing our best to get everyone their food as quickly as possible.

Sincerely,

A restaurant worker bracing for a long night of orders and (hopefully patient) customers. Happy Halloween! 🎃👻

Safe place to lock my bike near the court house?

Anyone here ever ride your bike for jury duty? Is there a safe place to lock it? The website says there is a bike rack under some stairs?

Have you used it? Have you had any issues?

Thank you!

Drive-thru donuts?

Any places besides Krispy Kreme worth checking out in Fresno/Clovis? Every place Google recommends doesn’t actually seem like it has a drive-thru…thanks!

In Search a Good PCP That Takes Cal Viva

I'm in search of recommendations for a new primary care doctor. I don't like the one(s) I have now and it feels a bit weird about asking my current PCP for a referral to a new one. I have Cal Viva (Medi Cal, but I don't know if that part matters). I've been going to St Agnes, but the PCP that I was with for years moved a quite a while ago and I got stuck with a residency clinic. I am not a young guy with no health problems, which it almost seems like this is the goal of the program, and a residency program tends to be pretty timid in tackling my issues. I have no problem switching to Community or even an independent clinic/office if it's for a competent doctor that takes my insurance.
