RCSD School Board

It looks like due to a couple board members unwillingness to compromise, we are most likely going to have a $1 million dollar special school board seat. Zachreson is unwilling to appoint any one except for Keri Kochlhar. And, Lesch idea of compromise weeks to be pick his & Zachreson's number one candidate. Kafka was a no go for Zachreson because he holds a grudge against her for not gerrymandering school trustee areas.

There will be another meeting that the other 2 members pushed for since they are open to another candidate. Personally, Keri's Facebook post show she just is not a safe person for our students and will be getting marching orders from Destiny pastor

Vet recommendations for cat

I’m looking for recommendations for a good vet (ethical, fair, considerate and caring, professional) for my cat. She absolutely hates going to the vet, she gets very stressed out. My current vet is a 20min drive and I’m seeing if there’s some place closer (less stress) that we can go to. Specifically, I am looking for a vet if you have experience taking your CAT there and you’d recommend it. Not interested in hearing recs for vets for dogs, it’s a whole different experience for a skiddish cat / cat owner.

Thank you!!!

FurnishedFinder/Renting to Nurses+Med Professionals

Hi all, I'm a homeowner in Roseville and I'm looking to rent to medical professionals who want to work at Kaiser or Sutter.

I'm curious if anyone has any experience with this. I have half 3/2 home just sitting right now and I'd really like to rent it out to someone. I've noticed a lot of complaints about price-gouging since covid and I have no desire to frisk hardworking nurses/otherwise.

If you're a med professional taking advantage of these types of things, how can I bet the best landlord possible?

Thanks!

Rocklin Unified School Board violated laws in passing "LGBT Outing Policy"

In September 2023, the Rocklin Unified School District (RUSD) implemented a policy by a vote of 4 to 1 mandating staff to notice parents if a child requests to be identified as a gender other than the child’s biological sex or gender, requests to use a name that differs from Their legal name, to use pronouns that do not align with the child’s biological sex or gender; requests access to sex-segregated school programs, activities or bathrooms that do not align with the child’s biological sex or gender.

Following the policy's adoption, the California Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) issued a cease-and-desist order against RUSD, stating that the district had violated the Educational Employment Relations Act by not providing the Rocklin Teachers Professional Association (RTPA) with advance notice and an opportunity to negotiate the policy.

In January 2025, PERB delivered a final ruling against RUSD's policy, concluding that the district had committed an unfair labor practice by implementing the gender notification policy without proper negotiation with the RTPA. PERB also noted that the policy violated state law, referencing the recently enacted SAFETY Act.

As a result of these legal challenges and the new state legislation, RUSD's forced outing policy has been invalidated, and the district is currently reviewing the ruling to determine its next steps.

Denio Family Park

Haven’t heard anything for months regarding this project. There used to be a Facebook page for the Disc Golf course it’ll have on it but they seemed to have paused it so no one can post/comment on it.

Anyone have any sweet insights as to their progress?

I drive by it every day for work and it doesn’t look like much have changed since last month.

List of organizations to help those in need.

Hi folks,

What local organizations are here to help people in need?

Context: It would appear the Republican administration is making good on the Project 2025 promise to "Dismantle the administrative state" (I e. Federal Government) and "Concentrate Executive Power".

This means our communities relationship with the federal government has now been fundamentally changed.

As our community experiences changes rapidly over the coming weeks and months -

Pet Care

Does anyone know of a veterinarian office that does house calls? My mom (89yo) is home bound and needs someone to come by and trim her cats claws. There used to be someone who did it but she has forgotten who it was. And info would be appreciated, thank you.

What positive impacts will our community see, if any?

We have a new federal administration making bold moves and challenging the status quo.

How do you see the impact of the administrations actions and behavior benefiting you and our community, over the next couple of years?

Old La Provence building

Does anyone know what’s going on with the old La Provence building? My neighbor keeps telling me an Italian restaurant is going in there but I can’t find anything about that.

Daycare recommendations

I’m looking for daycare recommendations for my 2 year old. She’s currently at a home daycare which we like but the provider follows the school calendar which is hard for us since we don’t have family and backup care isn’t always easy to find. I’m open to both center or home daycares, preferably one with no screen time.

Haircut fix. - anyplace around willing to fix a men’s long haircut. I got it done yesterday but the barber was “inexperienced” (not very good)

Are there any local barbers that are willing to fix a haircut I got yesterday. I asked the person to trip my long hair and do my beard. They took way too long and took it way too short. Also some of the other things I asked we completely messed up. When it came time to the beard I made an excuse and left. But I still need my beard trimmed and shaped and my hair fixed. 🤷🏻‍♂️ any ideas or recommendations? Thank you in advance

Can I afford to live here?

My boyfriend and I recently got jobs in Sacramento, and want to move to Roseville.

He will be making $83,300/yr gross, and I will be making $33,000/yr gross.

Taking taxes out, we are looking at having about $7.2k/month.

We were looking at trying to rent a place in the $2.5k/month range, but we have never moved out before so I am not sure if that is realistic, and I am also not sure if Roseville is expensive to live in or not

What would be a comfortable household income (gross) for Roseville?

Hi Rosevillians, basically the title. Thinking of moving here and owning a house. 2 kids, no child care cost but only one income. I know it can depend on a lot more things but give me your best ballpark :)

Romantic Restaurant Recommendation

I’m looking for recommendations for a romantic restaurant (like dim, quite, candles on tables atmosphere) in Roseville/Folsom/Auburn or nearby areas for Valentines dinner. I’m open to any type of cuisine but a good romantic sushi restaurant would be great.

Looking for a doggy “helper” for training

Hi all,

This is probably a long shot but - figured it’s still worth the ask. :) My partner and I are currently training our pup and are working on desensitizing her to other dogs (she gets very excited - not aggressive at all). In order to properly train her we’d ideally start with structured sessions with 1 other dog. Unfortunately, we don’t have doggy friends near us to practice with.

The ideal helper is a dog who is neutral(ish) with other dogs and can remain seated/on place board for some time. If this sounds like your pup and you’re interested in having some fun outside (and helping another pup learn ☺️) feel free to message! 😄
