Garage Sales?

In town visiting family from Germany and want to show my kid the traditional garage sale.

Where are these posted now? Craigslist? Been a few years since I’ve been home, so any help would be appreciated.

How was your Halloween?

I took my son (9) and his friend around our neighborhood. They were focused on efficiency. They sprinted between houses and zig zagged across streets so as to not double back and they filled up 2 Target Bags to almost overflowing each. When there were bowls, they only took one unless otherwise stated. Smartest thing I’ve ever done is bring a wagon with extra waters. This was probably one of my favorite Halloweens with my son… and I’m exhausted.

Looking for an amazing accountant/tax preparer. Any recommendations?

Hi all! I need someone to help me do my taxes. I really, really want someone who knows their stuff and is highly professional. I’ve had some not great experiences in the past, and I need to start over. Does anyone love their tax preparer? Do you have one who has helped you get the best return they can? Please share them with me! Thank you immensely.

Denio's farmer market bathroom Water is so hot!

Yes definitely use both the cold and hot water sink in the bathroom of both men and women's side. If you only use the hot water it's like too hot it can burn your hands. It is perfect for early morning or colder months such as October to December. Don't think you should drink the water from the faucet tho. I'm talking about Denio's flea market bathroom.

This year will be the first Halloween my wife and I are spending in Roseville. What are some of your favorite festive activities that you would recommend for us? Roseville/ Sacramento locale preferably. Thanks!

Rocky’s Barber Shop

Least professional establishment ever. It’s in a car wash, not a big deal. Huge Trump guy, not a big deal. Born again Christian, also not a big deal either. It was fine, I actually enjoyed parts of the conversation despite many differences.

The haircut I got after being subjected to the deranged tirade, is a big Fn problem. For listening to this clown I should have gotten the $40. I am not sure if he is talentless or gave me a shit haircut because of our seemingly healthy debate, either way I’d rather cut my own hair than give him another $

Moving to Roseville

Hello! I’m moving to Roseville from Orangevale soon, and I realize I will be moving from Sacramento County to Placer County. I’ve lived in Sac county my whole life, so I’m just curious if anyone can tell me some differences between the two that I should be aware of. What are some things that are a little different in Roseville? For example, in Orangevale/Sacramento County, we have to sort our trash. Plastics and cans in recycling, food scraps go in the green (yard) waste, etc. My office is in Roseville and I’ve been told nothing needs to be sorted here, they do it at the plant. Is that correct? Any other things like this I should be aware of? Thanks in advance!

Used cars at Roseville Toyota

Don’t do it. Just heard from an inside source that since Lithia took over ownership of Roseville Toyota from Sullivan, they aren’t selling the junk cars they take in as trade-ins off to wholesale places. They are “fixing” them up good enough to roll off the lot - with third-rate parts, cheap knock-offs from Amazon, and the worst tires they can get - then letting the new buyer either pay out of pocket when things break, or pressuring the buyer into a maintenance contract to cover the repairs. You’re basically going to a (supposed) higher end dealer, paying top used-car prices, and getting junk like you would at the worst of the scammy used-car lots anywhere.

Suspect arrested in gunpoint robbery of postal worker

I didn't see any updates on this in this forum, so here it is:

Roseville police said on Friday that 32-year-old Xavier Roberts was arrested in connection with the robbery and has been booked into Placer County Jail.

In search of small batch chair rental for Halloween party

I'm throwing a Halloween party this weekend and would like to rent about a dozen chairs to provide some extra seating for guests, plus maybe an extra 6 ft table. I've Googled several rental businesses and most require a minimum of $200 to rent. Does anyone have a lead on a business where I could rent a smaller batch of chairs?

All I’m seeing is events for this past Friday, Saturday, and for Halloween night on Thursday. Does anyone know what we can do tonight? We don’t want to drive to Sac and have limited walking abilities as well…

Fun things to do…

In town for the night. Single F looking for a good spot to get a drink, listen to music and a decent place to check out.

Like to stick with Roseville/Rocklin area. I would hit downtown Sac but rather not alone.

Thanks!

Sunrise Mall Macy's Scheduled to Close in March

I was talking to one of the staff at the Sunrise Mall Macy's today, and she said they are scheduled to close...she thought by March. I don't think there's a Citrus Heights thread, so posted here.

Plasma Donation

i’m considering signing up to donate my plasma with BioLife since it’s down the street from me and I need extra cash. What is your experience donating? I’ve been trying to research how much compensation you get per donation but on the BioLife website it just says “up to $800!” which is confusing. Basically i’m trying to make sure it’s not a scam or they make it seem like you’re getting more than advertised.

Hi everyone! My local car club has partnered with Bridgeway Church to share their space for a trunk or treat this evening in the Roseville community. Please feel free to come out if you have kids (costume or not) or want to see some cars and decor (or both!).
