Tips for a healthy subreddit:

  • Please don't downvote other people's submissions or comments, and don't make mention of anticipated downvotes on your posts ("I'm going to get downvoted for this, but...").
  • Moderators may remove all comments beneath a rule-breaking comment in a tree, even if those other comments are not rule-breaking. They do this in order to disincentivise rule-breaking comments meant to derail conversations.
  • Self-posts to spur discussion or debate are allowed.

No accountability from Hamilton Police brutality

Hamilton Police said there was an exchange of fire. But the "suspect" was not armed...

He is a highly respected member of his community. This does not make sense. And Hamilton Police is not taking accountability.

Scammed and Cheated by Rallye Motors Hyundai in Moncton, New Brunswick

TL;DR: I had a deal for a Hyundai Elantra Preferred Tech model with Rallye Motors in Moncton, NB. After getting financial approval, they sold the car to someone else and pressured me to buy a more expensive luxury model. I have all the proof, including emails, call logs, and documentation. Their treatment was unprofessional, and I want Hyundai Motors Canada to know how this dealership is cheating customers.

It all began on the morning of November 9, 2024, at 9:51 AM, when I received a message from Rallye Motors' Sales Manager regarding a car inquiry I had made. Eager to move forward, I had a conversation over the phone and began discussing the details. At 11:00 AM, I initiated a request to get a quote for the monthly payments for the Elantra Hyundai Preferred Tech model, as I was seriously considering purchasing this vehicle.

By 2:00 PM, the Financial Specialist contacted me with an offer, and everything seemed to be progressing smoothly. I agreed to the deal, and she asked me to submit the necessary documents. Wasting no time, I uploaded all the required paperwork to the link provided at around 2:10 PM. Shortly after, at around 3:00 PM, I was thrilled to receive a call confirming that my financial approval had come through and that the car was ready for delivery pending cleaning and final checks.

However, my excitement was short-lived. The Sales Manager informed me that I would need to arrange insurance for the car before delivery, which was mandatory. So, I promptly began discussions with my bank to secure the insurance quote. But at 4:00 PM, just an hour later, everything unraveled. I received a shocking call: the car I had been sold had already been sold to another customer, and the only option available was a luxury trim model, which came at a significantly higher price.

Feeling Cornered and Betrayed What ensued was a whirlwind of frustration and disappointment. After negotiating and securing the initial deal, I was now left in a bind. The Sales Manager, the Sales Expert, and the Finance Associate seemed uninterested in finding a fair resolution. When I went to the store in person, I was met with rude and dismissive behavior. The Manager even bluntly told me to “take the deal or leave,” implying that if I walked away, I’d be offered an even worse price later.

They offered me the higher-priced luxury model, justifying the increased cost with unnecessary features that I had never wanted. Their attempts to upsell me were relentless, and I couldn’t understand why I was expected to pay extra money for their mistake. Despite the initial deal I had agreed upon, they showed no accountability or regard for the promises made by the Sales Manager.

During the meeting, I even conveyed that it was perfectly fine for me to wait if they didn’t have the Elantra Hyundai Preferred Tech model in their inventory. I explained that I was in no hurry and could wait, given that we had already secured financial approval for the car. Despite this, they flatly denied my suggestion and kept pressuring me to buy the higher-priced luxury model, claiming I should have no issue paying more, even though it was entirely unnecessary for my needs. The blatant lack of integrity and disregard for customer care was appalling.

Impact and the Question of Credibility The entire ordeal not only caused me immense stress but also had serious financial implications. The hard credit check they ran for my financial approval was now wasted, negatively impacting my credit history. I also had to spend $50 traveling from Dieppe to Rallye Motors, all for nothing. The Manager and the staff’s rude and unprofessional behavior left me feeling scammed and cheated.

Even after stretching my budget from $240 to $253 to secure the car, I was willing to compromise even further during their so-called “solution meeting.” I reluctantly offered to pay $255, but the Sales Manager and Finance Associate continued to negotiate among themselves over their commission, prioritizing their profits over customer satisfaction. The scene was humiliating: the Sales Manager and the Finance Associate exchanged glances, whispering about their commissions and refusing to budge.

A Message to Hyundai Motors Canada I want Hyundai Motors Canada to be aware of how Rallye Motors, a dealership located in Moncton, New Brunswick, is cheating and mistreating customers. The level of dishonesty and unprofessionalism displayed by this dealership undermines the trust customers place in the Hyundai brand. I urge Hyundai Motors Canada to investigate this dealership's practices to ensure that other customers do not suffer the same fate.

Conclusion This experience has shattered my faith in Rallye Motors. Their behavior was not only deceptive but bordered on predatory. My story stands as a warning to others: be careful, and don’t let a dealership take advantage of you the way they did to me.

Supporting Evidence To support my claims, I have all the necessary proof, including email conversations with the Financial Specialist and Sales Manager, phone call timelines, and documentation of my visit to the dealership. These records clearly outline the offers, agreements, and the series of events that unfolded, leaving no room for doubt about how Rallye Motors conducted this unethical and distressing transaction.
