I’m looking to open a savings account with a new bank. So far I’ve been looking into Tangerine, PC financial and Simpli financial as they have no monthly fees. What’s people’s experiences with these banks, or any other suggestions?
Do wild edible mushrooms grow on PEI? If so, have people every picked any? Things such as chanterelles or other types of mushrooms.
I live in the Charlottetown area so something with 30 minutes would be be nice.
Have you ever picked any yourself?
My partner has been brutally sick for about a week, negative for Covid (he had it less than 2 months ago, but he still tested a bunch anyway). He’s been having intense vomiting, diarrhea, aches, chills, cough, etc. He felt better for a day or two, but it’s back with a vengeance.
Health Canada reports genuine influenza levels are still very low. So, I’m just wondering if he’s just super unlucky or if something else is going around.
Thanks!
Met exchanged number. The mushroom has been asking about the unicorns. If you see this dm me?
Emoloyers; if you tell an interviewee that you're going to tell them either way whether they have been selected for a job, especially if you've set the expectation of "the end of the week", take the 2 seconds to fire off an email. It's not like you're giving any kind of feedback anyway when you don't select someone. Plus, ghosting is stupid. Many of you have working HR departments. They were able to be in contact enough to set up an interview. What, suddenly roo busy?
Almost a decade ago I sold a 20 year old car that was no longer running to someone who intended to fix it up and get it going again. At that time, however, I lived in Ontario and there was a market for people buying cars to fix in shop classes, at home, etc. Just curious if there's any market like that in PEI today?
I've got a 2015 Jetta, but it's not running and most places are quoting 4k - 6k minimum for a fix. My wife and I just decided to buy a new car, but we're just trying to figure out what to do with the Jetta. Is there any kind of market for it here in PEI? I could junk it, but it just seems a shame when it's only 8 or 9 years old.
anyone know whats going on next to foodland on walker?
Is there any ice time available in Charlottetown, Summerside or anywhere in between for family skates on weekends and evenings in November/December?
Looking to teach my toddler to skate!
So I grew up on PEI and then in my adult years I moved away. Unfortunately my father never applied for Canadian Citizenship so I have to start the immigration process all the way from zero. Some of my family is still in PEI and I would like to be re-united with them.
So if anybody that has experience immigrating to PEI could answer these questions it would be much appreciated.
Looking at my options the Occupations in Demand stream appears to be the best one: https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/information/office-of-immigration/occupations-in-demand
I have experience in construction and this seems like the best path but I have questions I could use help with.
1.) It seems like I would have to find an employer that is willing to complete this form: https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/sites/default/files/forms/peiw-02_workforce_job_offer_form.pdf . If I am successful and my application goes through, would that mean I get a work permit that allows me to work for that employer only? Or would it be for construction work in general? What if I get to PEI and employer lays me off for lack of work?
2.) Can I do this whole immigration process without a consultant? It seems fairly easy to do, but I get that sometimes with bureaucracy you need the right connections to get things moving, have any of you immigrated through this stream without paying a consultant?
3.) How long did the whole process take from start to finish?
Hi everyone, I’ll just make this quick, I am a half arab, half latino who lives in Quebec, and the vast majority of people here in Quebec are very rude and I just wanted to know how are the people here in PEI. Are they nicer than the quebecers ? And how is life generally for an immigrant in PEI ?
Thank you
I’m looking for some info about going on Ei while having 2 kids. I have a job that is full time but need to have a few months off in the winter and I was wondering if you get more money on Ei if you have kids or if there is a way to get more money if you have kids
If there’s no info on that. I would also like to know if any one would know of any place that hires just for the winter that way I’m not burning any bridges just abruptly leaving at the start of April
Edit: I’m being laid off because of the winter. I’m a landscaper with a full time job spring, summer, and fall
Does anyone know what the purpose of the Norwood carpool lot is? I assumed it was a carpool lot, but it looks like a junk yard. All kinds of inoperable vehicles. Cars on blocks, no plates, no windows, flat tires, it’s an unreal eyesore. Anyone know why the junk is not towed? Scared of hurting someone’s feelings?
Hi! I recently inherited a ring and need to get it sized up. I have a second ring that is unused, both rings are gold, that I thought I could use to add to the band. I’d like to add gold to the band and keep it wider as I’ve had a ring resized before and it ended up too thin and breaking. Any ideas? Willing to travel anywhere on the island for good work :)
Just cannot get a valid answer online. Is there a place to become a RMT here on the island? Thank you.
Why does the Hillsborough bridge suck so bad? 45 min to and from work , when will this madness ever end..
Yeah, or maybe you're asking someone with TESOL certificate to work for barely above minimum wage. 🙄🤣
I’m not looking for tires but I got a new set of tires from Central Auto in Warren Grove. I highly recommend going there if you need service or new tires by the way.
I have 2 sets available. If anyone is in dire need and can’t squeeze new tires in the budget this year you can have a set for nothing. They have about 10/32” on the treads.

CBMF just released their final teaser video for the Friday headliner...Who do you think it could be??
Friends of mine just moved to the island, and they're just outside of Summerside but the area that they are in I guess has pretty much nobody that hands out candy.
What's a good area in Summerside that they and their young kid can walk door to door for trick-or-treating? They're not looking for giant chocolate bars or anything, but a nice easy walking neighborhood with lots of houses and decorations would be great.
Any ideas would be fantastic.
Thanks.
It’s tough to keep up with Hal Perry. Once a Conservative, now a Liberal, but this latest half-brain idea almost sounds like he’s channeling his Conservative roots again—or maybe he’s just completely out of touch with Islanders.
Hal is now pitching a 2% reduction in the provincial portion of the HST. He claims it would help Islanders who are feeling the pinch during these high-cost times. But would it actually help those who are struggling? Not so much.
If you’ve got $20,000 in disposable income, which many of us don’t have, that’s a savings of about $400. Meanwhile, Islanders who can afford bigger purchases—like a new truck or a fancy boat—stand to save a lot more. A $100,000 truck? That’s a whopping $2,000 off in tax savings. It’s hard to see how that supports those who really need it.
If Hal genuinely wanted to support all Islanders, he should pitch ideas that impact everyone—like reducing income tax or raising the provincial income tax exemption.
HST cuts sound nice, but they only benefit those with the deepest pockets.
Looking for a place to buy a relatively thick/loose sweater to wear with a sleeveless jacket for the winter. Knit sweaters could work too
I'm looking for gift ideas for my sister and her girlfriend. Ideally some sort of date night type thing. They aren't drinkers but do smoke weed.
Ideally somewhere on the east half of the island, not too much farther west than Charlottetowne.
Thanks!
The dentist office I've been using for years suddenly has crazy wait times. Had to cancel an appointment this week, they're saying the earliest opening they have to re-book me is next August. Is this a common thing around here now, and just another part of our crumbling health system? Or should I be looking for a better dentist?
