3-Gun shooting events are practical shooting events where the stages are shot with a combination of a rifle, handgun, and shotgun. Matches generally involve courses where the shooter must move through different stages, and engage targets in a variety of different positions. Each stage will generally require the use of different weapons and require the shooter to transition between different firearms.

I have a Benelli M2 field. It’s the 28” barrel. I was thinking of selling it and getting a JM 940 pro or M3K. I see people say the m2 is better but I feel like I’d have to spend money to upgrade it to make it do what the others do stock. Maybe I’m missing something.
I have only done one 3gun with it. It did fine I felt the 28” barrel was quite long.
I’m new to 3gun and shotguns in general. I mainly shot pistol.
At my local event everyone had the 940 pro or M3K.
I spectated my local match and they seem to run 2 very long stages.
I definitely want a chair and some shade while being able to move everything around easily.
I've noticed a lot of people convert jogging strollers to range carts but I don't own any jogging strollers.
Found this used golf cart for sale on FBMP with the spring loaded chair and umbrella holder.
I replaced the upper bag holder with a 3D printed double AR mag extrusions and a cradle for my shotgun.
Ammo can is just sitting on the lower bag holder but I need to figure out a mounting solution for 2 ammo cans and a range bag there. I want to keep the folding functionality of the cart in case I have to pack it in my car (I usually take the truck to the range but unforeseen circumstances have and will happen).
Let me know what you guys think and if you have any ideas/suggestions on the lower platform.
I would really like to get this done before Saturday (will be my first 3 gun match).
Hello friends! I have been shooting 3 gun for a few years now and it is my goal to participate in the competition at forest lake in Minnesota next year. I am wondering if anybody who has been previously has any advice for me. I understand that in order to register I must be a USPSA member, which I plan to become. I have not shot any official USPSA matches yet, as there are no official 3 gun matches up here where I live. I am wondering if there are any requirements to register for the forest lake match, such as having some scores from sanctioned matches under your belt already, or if anyone is allowed to just sign up. Really any advice from people who have more experience than me would be appreciated! Cheers
Here is my video from this years Memorial 3gun match. This was my first year shooting it, but it won’t be my last…. Absolutely amazing experience.
I finished mid pack which is pretty good considering I don’t shoot 3gun hardly at all… like ever anymore lol. Using a borrowed shotgun and a rifle set up with one match on it… I’m pretty happy with the results
Honestly though I could have finished dead last and still had a great time, such is the experience that is Memorial 3gun.
Warning there is at least one curse word that I recall and it’s a long video and I recorded the bios for each of the honorees.
I think this will work better than a little wagon. My wife thinks that I will get some weird looks from the neighbors...
What’s a good starter kit for a new shooter? I’ve only shot USPSA and Steel Challenge so all I have is my set up for that. I’ll probably start with 2 gun (pistol and AR) since I don’t a competition shotgun yet. I won’t be trying to challenge for championships or anything like that. Just wanting to get out there and have fun and help my kids get started in it too. I love shooting with my kids 😊
I’m a 34 F living near Atlanta, GA. I have always been fascinated by 3-gun and wanted to take classes. If my income increases this coming year, I want to make my dreams a reality! I’m literally wanting to train because I think it is bad ass and because I want to be able to fend for myself if the world ends LOL! I have my own handgun that my husband got me. I’ve been to the range several times. I’m a lot more comfortable handling a gun and having it on me, but don’t do it often anymore because I don’t go to the range enough to feel 100% comfortable carrying it and potentially having to using it. I don’t even know where to begin with 3-gun. I think my first step will be to re-familiarize myself with the gun I own and get comfortable with it. What would your recommended first steps be for a complete newbie?
I designed this caddy so the cups which hold the shells will pivot out of the way when they are empty. The shell is the cup will keep the cups sticking out from the caddy It still needs a little refinement. I think i will move the holder a little higher, and give a little tighter hold on the shells.
Looking to get into 3 gun competitions
What’s the better option of the two?
Mainly concerned about reliability, ease of quad loading, and after market support.
I am looking for some match savers for different applications, 930 JM pro, 1301 Mod 2, M4... etc...
Looking for MLOK versions and regular screw in kinds, just trying to see what is out there and what is preferred by users. Looking for actual feedback.
Google search is flooded with 3d printed stuff that I can make at home...
Almost done with this abomination. Spring-assisted 8-shell reloader...
Hey guys, does anyone know if the CZ 1012 is a good platform for 3 gun? Also how difficult it might be to modify? I'm new to 3 gun and am borrowing my cousins tricked out Stoeger M3K for now, but need to get my own shotgun eventually. But I've only got a budget of around 1000 bones for a base. Thanks in advance!
A buddy of mine just accidentally put a 5.56 round through his boot… he’s all well and will make a full recovery in time.
But we need some nicknames to make sure he never forgets it.
7.2.4.5 No electronic or optical sights are allowed on shotguns in this division.
Does this literally mean only bead sights allowed?
What about a shotgun with a fiber optic front sight like the A300 Ultima Patrol or Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical?
Cheers
Thought I'd share a highlight reel from my 3 gun team match. Such a blast my team got 13th out 36 overall had some hiccups but learned a ton and will definitely be back!
I am just getting into 3 gun shooting and currently just have a basic red dot on my rifle. Looking to get something new that can be used across a wider range of distances and is fairly durable without blowing my budget.
I was thinking of getting an Sig Tango but curious if there are other recommendations out there worth looking at?
Story time: I want to hear yours.
What was the best match or moment in a match you've had thus far?
I just got into three gun (first event last sunday) and I was interested in ways to practice between events. My friend and I have five gongs and five poppers and are looking at grabbing some silouettes and a small spinner.
The idea is being able to throw this stuff in a pickup and set up a tiny course in public land that we already shoot at. I was wondering if:
anyone here has already done this?
budget alternatives to expensive/large targets like texas stars?
how do you set up shooter boxes and places to drop/pick up guns?
cheapest place to get cardboard targets (or do you just cut them out yourself?)
I am very curious about getting a long rifle and shotgun to participate in 3 gun matches. What would you recommend for rifle and shotgun? Already have a pistol in each main caliber except 10mm, 357 sig.
This is an open, brainstorming session as I'm entering the tail end of my deployment.
I've seen various posts about how 3-gun isn't exciting as a spectator, which I can understand.
But how can it be more exciting then?
What can I, as an aspiring content creator, do to help the sport?
Is there such a thing as "heavy open"? Rifle 308 Pistol whatever, not open, With a mag fed shotgun ?
Alright gent's looking for suggestions on what shotgun to get. I'm and advid long range shooter, AR guy, started getting into pistols a few years back, now I'm looking at what shotty to rock. I have a stock glock 19 gen 3 I'm running as my side arm, main is a ruger 556 moded with flip up sights. I'm not sure what an affordable option for a shot gun would be to complete my set up. Any suggestions?
Hello, I'm sure that its been a question asked a million times so forgive me but I'm looking to get some gear to get into 3 gun. I am looking to shoot 3 gun in my local club that has a "carry optics" division. I'm sorry for such a long post, if not allowed, I will delete.

Detachable magazines are not allowed in the class."
I've ran a couple USPSA pistol matches already, so I'm semi familiar with the competition scene. I am currently running a Canik Rival SFX with a holosun 507comp and T1C Optio holster on the way, a CMMG MK4 AR-15 with a red dot/magnifier, and a Mossberg Maverick 88. As well as a battle belt with 3 pistol and 1 rifle mag pouch.
I am currently looking at a beretta a300 ultima patrol for a new shotgun as well as a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 LPVO for my AR. I don't have a huge budget but I am willing to hear your recommendations.
TL;DR Looking for a entry level 3 gun set up lol.
