Rent Prices in Tampa

I currently live in Massachusetts right now, and I pay $560 in rent for a single room in a 4 bedroom apartment. I wanted to know the price for a single room in a shared apartment as I will be moving to Tampa soon for work. Thank you!

Need a little assistance for housing

Hey folks,

I'm an international student coming at USF for my bachelors and need a little help. I'm actually looking for apartments around USF to live with my friends. We're looking to rent a 2 BHK and we have a few options to choose from. But the thing is, as I will be arriving in the US in August, I can not get a tour of my apartment and look at the ground reality before we actually sign the lease. So I was wondering if someone could help us by just visiting the apartment on our behalf and let us know how does it look?
I don't want to make a bad deal, waste our money and be forced to live in a crap house for 1 year.
I'd be very grateful if someone can just help us out. Thankkss!!

Alligator crossing traffic

Did anyone happen to see or take a picture of the big gator crossing traffic off I-75 going towards Brandon area? It was right off the exit at the first light!

This might be a longshot, but are there any folks out there with a pellet grill looking to move over to charcoal? I have a large Big Green Egg with table and valuable attachments but wanting to trade for a pellet grill. Anyone interested?

Get $45 to help with heart disease research study in Sun City Center

Get your blood drawn to test your Lp(a) levels and they'll give you a $45 visa gift card. Appointment takes 15 minutes. The study is being done by a company called Care Access located in Sun City Center.

Contribute to scientific research and learn whether your Lp(a) levels are putting you at risk of a heart attack.

Lp(a) tests are normally around $100 so this is a great deal.

Just got evacuated out of the Target on Bruce B/County Line — what happened?

None of the staff knew what was happening (or wouldn’t tell us at the least). It was really sudden and all of the staff were also outside.

Minerva indian food under new management?

Minerva used to be my go-to place but it seems like they're under new management now - the main couple who were always there have been gone for months now at least, and the food quality has dropped tremendously too. The reviews on google have also fallen an insane amount, and there are a lot of 5-star copy and paste reviews. I really don't think multiple people are calling the place a "culinary gem".

I'm really bummed because I've been going there for years but it really seems to have fallen off, and fallen hard.

Tampa Guitar Players?

What’s the guitar playing scene like in Tampa these days? I know it used to be a sort of Mecca for death metal bands.

Anyone know of anywhere that’s interested in used equipment? Amps, electric guitars, etc?

Perfect Weather

this year has been absolutely amazing weather wise. i don't remember the low humidity extending this far into april... ever. it's usually pleasant at night time until mid to late may, but the day time hasn't been super hot yet surprisingly either.

Sinkholes around Tampa

Has anyone swum in sinkholes around the Tampa area in the past? I know there's a few around here that used to be clean and swimmable, so if anyone has any experiences with them, please give your input.

Hi! I'm looking for a job that is ok with someone on probation? Help!

Hi! So yes as the title says, as of the next 18 months I have to complete felony probation (adjucation withheld meaning I'm not a felon) and some special conditions as far as counseling and classes. (I did something extremely stupid that I could have avoided). If want to know the details feel free to PM me. I live in the Wesley Chapel area!

This is my first time having to deal with a criminal record/probation and finding a job in today's market. I pretty much am at ground zero. Having to had move back in with parents, no job, no car, and a 11 year old (I'm 28). I never thought I'd be here but honestly I have accepted full accountability that I pretty much need to get my shit together. The upside is I have full familial support, and I don't partake in any substances. I don't hang out with people who might get me into trouble, nor do I party or stay out late nights in places that might get me into any tricky situations.

I was ashamed to type this but what honestly do I have to lose? Humbly put I am just grateful that I was given a second chance, and am appreciative of any kind of helpful information. I plan on furthering my education and getting a job in the next month (hopefully! Both of these also reduce months of probation significantly). My experience is pretty diverse but mostly customer support/service based, and a little tech savvy. I love to write, and I am also pretty gifted with hairstyling (locs/braids/natural hair) which I plan on making that a side hustle of mine. I have so many goals, but right now I just want gainful employment so that I'm able to take care of my responsibilities financially and work on funding my dreams. I'm open to hearing about trades and programs, too!

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks 💕

(EDIT: Thank you for all the information!! 🙂 Will leave this up for others to refer to also in need. I plan on referring back to this post when I find employment. Again thanks everyone!)

Shrimp Dock customers, who is better?

Greetings, fellow Tampenos!

Versaggi or Superior for your shrimp?

Is there another monger at the docks that I'm unaware of?

East hillsborough walmart

Good afternoon all

Just a heads up for any and all snap benefit recipients, please be advised someone has been entering the store with an RDIF scanner and cloning ebt cards and stealing pin numbers.

Last month mine was hit and unfortunately yesterday my card was drained immediately after the initial deposit and the charges came out of Pennsylvania.

If anyone See's this, and you are an active shopper / employee, please pass along .

Does the biking event still happen? Usually the last Friday of the month starting from Curtis Hixon.

Unfortunately, there's no social media presence for it

Sunset at Courtney Campbell Causeway 4/25/24

Despite what Tampa may or may not be it’s hard to ignore we have some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world right here in our own backyard. Some people travel thousands of miles to see what we get to see at a moments notice. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

crafters/craft stores?

hi, Reddit! we just moved back to Florida after a long time away, and I would really love some recommendations for thrift stores that have a lot of craft stuff - I enjoy crocheting, junk journaling, scrapbooking. while the big corporate stores are great, I really enjoy getting some used items as well. any local meetups or anything for crafters?

Pediatric PT in Tampa

Hello! I’m fairly new to the area and my babies were referred to see a pediatric physical therapist. I was able to get an opening with St. Joseph’s and Tampa General Hospital and was wondering if anyone had any experience with either? Not sure which facility would be best to take them too. It was really hard to get an appointment, and they both called me at the same time with an opening. I’m just hesitant as to which to cancel when taking appointment availability and overall service into consideration. Thank you in advance!
