In town next week…

Trying to book a place for five nights (visiting a parent in a local facility) but concerned about what is posted on the various sites, e.g. storm damage. Any suggestions on where to stay? TIA

Dunedin Golf Club

Thinking about joining - any idea how the Reno has been and if it is worth the initiation + monthly fees?

Condition of Dunedin Causeway post Helene?

I'm hearing a lot about what's happening around Clearwater beach but nothing about Dunedin Causeway and Honeymoon Island.

How is the High & Dry Grill doing? Is it okay to bring my catamaran and launch now?

I created a new Discord server for the area: Tampa Bay Inclusive

Hey there. I saw there are a few Tampa-related servers, but they're all very niche. I wanted to create something more general that could serve everyone in the area. Anyone is welcome to join. If you remember the old MSN ChatTampaBay, something like that.

Magic: The Gathering players?

Any MTG players in the area interested in getting some games in sometime during the week or weekends in the late afternoon / evenings? Maybe hitting up a brewery downtown and getting some games in?

I used to play with a group at TAG on Fridays, but the store closed down about a year ago. I know there is a store up in Palm Harbor that plays sometimes, but it's a little out of my range.

I mainly have Commander decks, but have a few (outdated) Modern and Pauper ones too, as well as a Cube if there are enough people.

I want to go to honeymoon island this weekend and float around on a tube. Are there any places nearby where I can rent an inner tube?

Be aware - fraudulent charges occurring at Shell on Main St. In Dunedin.

We bought gas and air via our card at the Shell station, 1625 Main on 9/3/24. Had several additional charges occur as well that weren't ours. We were able to get the charges reversed but had to cancel our cards. Went back to tell the staff but they said "nah, we're pretty much hack proof".

Just letting people know. We think it was pump #13.

Ponyboy Jeep

Who else has seen the yellow/gold Jeep Wrangler named Ponyboy?

I've seen it twice now when in the Dunedin/Oldsmar area. It reminds me of the book, Stay Gold, by Tobly McSmith. There's a quote in the book to, "Stay gold, ponyboy".

Anyone know the owner and if his Jeep (I'm assuming his gender based on the book character) is a reference to said book?

If so, it's brilliant and I love it 😄

How do you all in Dunedin feel about putting pickle ball courts up in Honeymoon Island State Park? Is this a good idea or bad and why?

Local Elections

I’m starting to see the yard signs pop up for our local elections. Is there somewhere I can go to find out more about the candidates? Anyone have any recommendations?

Hey Dunedin!

I'm Lev, a Russian-born chef and vodka connoisseur with 35 years of experience in Moscow's vibrant culinary scene. I'm planning to bring a unique cultural experience to our corner of Florida, and I'd love your input!

I'm curious:

  • What's your biggest challenge in creating a themed dinner or cultural experience?

I'm offering:

  • Authentic Russian cuisine with local ingredients
  • Vodka tasting lessons (BYOB)
  • Moscow nightlife stories

Dunedin, tell me:

  • Interested in this experience?
  • What intrigues you about Russian food and drink?
  • How could this fit Dunedin's vibe?

Let's chat below!

Na zdorovye!

What's up with that mutant squirrel at Wall Springs park?

It's 3x the size of a regular squirrel. It's chunky with a striped tail. It's always on the ground.

What the fuck is this thing? Don't try to tell me it's a raccoon because I know it isn't.

Someone walking past it told me it was an escaped science experiment or pet or something.

Help for daughter possibly moving to Dunedin

Hello my daughter is 26 and currently a traveling physical therapist trying to get back to Florida. There is an opening in Dunedin and also Crystal River. How is Dunedin for young people? I realize it’s not Tampa or St Pete but any thoughts would help.

Best places (not too expensive) to eat good seafood around? Looking into Clearwater, Dunedin, tarpon springs? Not fancy either, more of a relaxed atmosphere.

We did the famous Frenchy’s. I was hoping for a larger seafood menu but they did not have it.
