Motorcycle Riders of Tampa Bay

Hey there. I saw there are a few Tampa-related servers, but they're all very niche. I wanted to create something more general that could serve everyone in the area. Anyone is welcome to join. If you remember the old MSN ChatTampaBay, something like that.
Hello! We are a group of students from the Technical University of Delft based in the Netherlands doing research into motorcycle helmets that fog up. Can you spare 5 minutes of your time to fill in our questionnaire? If not could you help us by shooting us quick upvote.
Unlike most dealerships, they actually have stock!
Picked up a XSR700... there is one left in for 70 miles.
I need to get a key cut for my 04 honda shadow. I have the key code, I just need to find someoen who stocks the blanks so they can make one. Anyone know of any shops or locksmiths that keep honda blanks on hand for motorcycles?
Hey all, just wondering what dealerships you'd recommend I do business with, and which to avoid? I'm looking for a Yamaha FZ-07 new/used.
I'm going to be coming to Tampa in January for a week or 2 to visit family... and that's WAY too long to be stuck with family. Also, I'm from Oregon and our weather is basically shit that time of year anyway. Those facts combined I was thinking it would be great to rent a bike to get around while I'm down there. I've heard that some Harley dealerships do it, but I wanted to know if there are any other options or if anyone has any recommendations. Thanks.
First things first. I couldn't find any more correct place to list this bike for sale. It's already on craigslist but I wanted to get it to the tampa riders too... So if there is a better spot, let me know gently and I'll gladly move it!

condition: good
This listing is for my 2005 Yamaha R1. The bike has 6800 miles on it, and is in fantastic condition. In addition to the motorcycle I am selling a set of bike stands and a couple sets of gear. (Be safe out there!)
Pitbull Forward and Rear bike stands Scorpion exo and Johnny rocket Yamaha track jacket 2 medium sized helmets
Bike has a few pieces swapped out. HotBodies black double bubble wind screen Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator 15/45 Front sprocket (two teeth down from the factory 17/45) Speedohealer
Bike comes with a brand new battery as of 7/14/2014
Original owner replaced the front sprocket to make it a bit more street-able, and after 4k miles I put on the speedohealer. Technically the Odometer reading is a little bit high due to this.
There is some scuff's on the right side of the bike. Original owner told me she was dropped while being loaded on a trailer. Damage is purely cosmetic.

I've actually had it for a few weeks now, but between traveling and having a new front tire on it I've really just started riding.
Went down to Peggy's south of the skyway this past weekend and had a blast. I've got other friends who ride but they aren't always available on the weekend. Are there some groups who go out regularly? I'd be game for long trips or short jumps, we were out from 10AM till 9PM on Sunday so anything works. I'm in a C50 Boulevard if it matters!
2001 Honda Shadow 750 for $2,900
2002 Yamaha V-Star 650 for $2,300
2003 Suzuki Intruder 800 for $3,000
About me
First-time rider, taken the course and have my endorsement, currently looking for deals on gear as I look for a bike. I've got friends with Harley's who I'd like to ride with, although I've wanted a bike for a few years myself, not just getting one because friends have them, that's just a bonus.
Looking for
I want a cruiser, my budget is about $3,500 max. My buddies all have 1500cc+ and I'd like to keep up with them. 80% city riding though, not a lot of highway driving. I'm 5'11", I like a lower bike, obviously something easy to handle for a first timer. I really, really like the Suzuki Boulevards, the C50 and up, I like the flow of the bike -- but they seem to be a little out of my price range.
Anyways, any help with different makes and models would be great. Kind of what's the best bang for my buck, are they all about the same quality? Is one manufacturer known for certain things, good or bad? I really have no clue and would love any help.
ALSO.. I'm in FL and there's a ton of motorcycle/gear shops locally, but are there any good online resources for gear anyone would recommend? I'm probably going to get some boots from revzilla, looking for some good gloves and a textile jacket (hot weather here for leather). Thanks in advanced!
Anyone here also work a shitty schedule, but still want to get out and ride with some [new] buddies? I get off work on the Hillsborough side of the Howard Franklin between 11-11:30 and off 1 or 2 day per week usually Tuesdays. I'm kind of a night owl and would love an excuse to go out for a ride after work or a reason to get up early before work sometime. Let me know if you'd be interested and if you'd have others come too that aren't on this sub and we can plan a meet up.
Whose looking to go on some rides soon?
Shooting for around 9 or 10am, probably looking to meet somewhere south of Gandy and 4th. Post if interested as the plan comes to light i will respond!
I know this sub reddit is kind of dead, but still looking for some people in the area to ride off road with.
Come on guys, let's do a ride on Sunday, whatever time works!
Spent all day in the garage and washing the bikes and all yesterday. While I can get the jobs done, there's just those few that would be easier with a second set of hands. So just wondering for the future if anyone is down to lend a hand? I'll offer free oil change labor or any other labor I can perform to your bike while we're at it.
Being in the garage is like a spa day for me. Anyone else?
Well there seems to be a lot of interest in a ride, but no definitive plans.
I haven't been riding in Tampa long, so I'm not sure where would be a great route, but I know I'd love to get out there and meet up.
I'm thinking Saturday morning, 8am. I have work at 1 so I figure we could ride for a few hours.
I'm in the New Tampa area, off Bruce B downs
I ride a 1988 sportster its old and crusty but tons of fun
And I have almost zero riding experience, outside a few trips on a dirtbike 10+ years ago. I know I want a cruiser and I can't spend more than $3,000, preferably less. So what I'm really looking for is advice on:
•Where is a good riding school? Discount/coupons?
•What do I need to look for when I look for a bike? Oil around the engine, etc.
•What's a good "starter" bike that I can find around my budget?
•Do you know anyone selling a bike?
Own a motorcycle? Thinking of buying? Looking for local motorcycling events? I created this sub to help those of us who've been bitten buy the "bug" and are interested in meeting like-minded people.
I'm open to all suggestions on how to improve this sub and hope that you all will find it useful.
EDIT - If you're willing, please post your location.
