Hi everyone!
I’m making this post because I’m thinking about transferring into USF (Tampa campus specifically) next fall. For context, I’m at FGCU currently (in my first year) and will be continuing majoring in environmental studies/sciences. I suppose I was just wondering if anyone had some recent insight or good experiences with the major. Also, as far as I’m aware, off-campus housing is generally the cheaper/better option but would love to hear some opinions.
Feel free to dm me as well!
hi, I was wondering how dangerous it is to go to Walmart or Target alone as a woman..? (idk if that even matters lol)
If you haven’t already heard about Daniel Cruz, let me tell you—he’s an amazing professor for Organic Chemistry! I highly recommend taking him over anyone else for orgo. While the class is a lot of work, it’s completely manageable if you put in the effort. His practice exams are gold. If you really focus on them and learn the material, you’ll set yourself up for an A. The homework, as far as I remember, was relatively easy and a good way to reinforce the basics.
Exams 1 and 2 were the easiest since they mostly covered the foundational material and introduced a few reactions. However, Exams 3 and 4 ramped up the difficulty because they were heavily reaction-based, so make sure to master all of them! Cruz provides tons of practice problems in class, walking you through them and even writing out explanations. He has a knack for creating funny and sometimes absurd ways to help you memorize things, which is both entertaining and effective.
That said, he can be on the sassier side and sometimes comes off as a little rude or condescending, but I genuinely don’t think he means it. He’s incredibly passionate about teaching and is there to help you learn. If you’re hesitant about asking questions in person because he might seem rushed or sassy, email is a good alternative—he’s usually responsive and helpful.
Overall, Cruz is a great professor who genuinely cares about his students’ success. The course will require effort, but his guidance, humor, and teaching style make Organic Chemistry way more approachable. Take him if you want to work hard, laugh a little, and learn a lot!
Pros:
-free passing grade if not A/B if you learn the practice exams!
-engaging class
-Funny and writes out mechanism!!
cons:
-sassy and come off a little condescending

The house is fully furnished and everyone gets their own room

Hello! If you could take the time and fill out the survey linked below for some research that I am completing that would be great. All responses are anonymous. Thank you for your time!
I also want to migrate things from my OneDrive to some place else and I’m wondering when I’ll lose my Microsoft products.
800-950?!! Im a college student for christ sakes
I’ve applied to USF as an intl freshman before the priority deadline and hope to get my result this month. I’d like to know: do freshmen receive the notification of merit-based scholarships with the online acceptance or should we wait for the official mail? Also, do they send mail to intl applicants?
Thanks in advance :)

Some of you may have seen our post a couple of months ago where we were looking for people to trial our business, for those who didn't here's a quick rundown. A friend and I thought it would be cool if you could turn any photo you want into a paint by numbers kit. That way you can paint your dog, cat, partner, the whole family or whatever you want without having to be an artist.
We looked up the idea and found that the current stores in the market were ridiculously expensive or only offered kits without a frame or with a DIY frame (who wants to put together their own frame? Don't you just want to open the box and start painting). So we looked around and talked to a bunch of suppliers and eventually we were able to produce custom paint by number kits cheaper then anywhere else and already framed.
We reached out to you here on Reddit asking you to test them out at cost price and we've received some amazing feedback as a result. Thank you if you were one of our OG customers! We want to continue to grow and get more feedback and reviews though so we're re-opening the offer in case you missed it the first time around or you want to order some more kits.
You can use the code "COSTPRICEREDDIT" to get our kits for cost price (our margins are pretty slim right now, we want to be as affordable as possible). You can get up to 4 kits at that price so feel free to buy a few and plan a date night, family activity or just get your Christmas shopping done early. If you've already ordered with that code it has no been reset so you can get the deal again!
We look forward to getting more feedback and hopefully you'll love our kits enough to spread the word to your family and friends!

Hey yall! Im in need of some advice, I’m trying to read thru different posts but I’d like to hear specifically from people who transferred in. I would be moving from the midwest, I’ve previously lived in FL so that’s not an issue. I’m wanting to know how did you feel as a transfer student? Did you feel like USF classes were on par with your previous school or were they harder/more work? Do you regret choosing USF? What did you think of the transfer process? Is there anything I should know about USF? Also for context I’m an environmental science major. Thanks in advance!
Anyone know from prior experience as to what a reasonable class load is for MBA. Some elective classes are a week only or two/three weekends in a row, and some core classes are 8 weeks vs the full semester. Was thinking of taking 4 classes. GEB 6215, ISM 6021, ENT 6207 and one more elective.
hi people! I am subleasing my apartment starting in January/February of 2025 at Forest Lake Student Housing. It's a bedroom/bathroom unit in a 4x4, females only, 3 other girls living there and pet friendly! (my roommate has a kitten) It's about 10 mins from the school and the other girls that live there are also USF students Rent is $850 a month including utilities. I love the apartment complex, the pool is beautiful, parking is never an issue etc. It's a super nice place, pls message me on here for more information if you're interested!

I'm in an asynchronous all online course, but she's been making us take our exams in person this semester even though the class is not in any capacity (no meeting times or anything). I know hurricane milton took away test free week but didn't it also take away the final exam schedule too? She is trying to have us take it on Sunday at 8pm, but I'm not sure we should even be required to take these exams in person, much less during the final exam schedule that was cancelled.
how much homework is there gonna be for man3025 man4504 geb3033 rmi3004 and man4930(HR management)
Don’t see it as an option as a semester in student self service, only spring 2025. Is registration already closed for wintermester?
I missed my drop in calls, I called back but no one answered, do they call back or do I need to get back in line again? ty!
I’ve been waiting on a housing email for Spring 2025 room assignments but haven’t received anything yet. I know housing is limited for the semester, but does anyone know if certain dorm buildings are more likely to have spots open?
Are you a U.S. service member or Veteran? Are you suffering from PTSD? We're here to help! We are conducting a study to help male and female Veterans who are suffering from symptoms of PTSD, using Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Veterans receive 10 weeks of free Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, supported by a local Tampa gym. Participants also receive up to $75 in Target gift cards for participating. If you (or anyone you know) is interested, please follow the QR code or email/call for more information.
The EDU Building is always cold. In the summer it was cold and it was annoying because I had to wear sweaters and pants for class but then I'd step outside and boil.
Now it's winter, 60 degrees outside, and I am not kidding when I say it is warmer OUTSIDE than in the EDU Building. I am wearing a sweater and pants and I was literally shivering in class and unable to concentrate because all I could think about was how cold I was. I had classmates who brought blankets to class and huddled under them.
Can someone PLEASE do something about this????? This is my second year putting up with this BS and I am not looking forward to spending another winter in EDU in these temperatures.
Rant over. But seriously, HOW CAN WE FIX THIS??
Hi, I'm an international USF freshman without any scholarship, and if it keeps that way I may not be able to finish my dregree here. *Obs: With any $500+ scholarship I get to pay in-state tuition.
I am confident that I will finish the fresh year with a high GPA (Virtually ending the first semester with a 4.0). Do I have chances?
With finals coming up, how are yall preparing?
Any advice for someone who really doesn’t want to do practice problems? Should I just drink 2 energy drinks?
hello, if anybody lost an earbud that looks like this today, i left it at the msc front desk.
So for context on Thanksgiving night i just got back from my foster parents and I was walking near Summit Hall and I saw this Orange Boy:) So, if anyone knows this cat LMK:)
I've done two semesters here at USF and lived out here for the length of both, yet finding people to talk to or hang out with in tampa feels next to impossible. I want to get out there more before I move and meet people of actual quality.
Does anyone know why there’s so many cops. There’s multiple cars in the parking lots by beta and maples.
My son (not on Reddit) is currently a sophomore in the business school. He and two others are looking for a fourth to join their housing group for Magnolia for 2025/2026. If interested, let me know and I’ll make an introduction. Thanks.
