Hibachi recommendations

Hello, I'm looking for a good hibachi restaurant anywhere in the St Petersburg - Clearwater area. This is a very specific requirement but I'm looking for something on par or better than Oyishi Express in the Oviedo mall (North Orlando area). I've tried Hibachi Express largo and was let down by the lack of flavor.

Oyishi Express is the experience I'm looking for, they give you a three part takeout container full of fried rice, they then stuff your choice of meat on top with boiled cabbage. They give you two cups of the white sauce as well. I can only get Oyishi Express when I visit family in Orlando which isn't too regularly and sometimes I'm just dying for a hit of it.

Please help!

Chutoro in St Pete?

I'm looking for a good nigiri spot in St Pete that is not Sushi Sho Rexley, and that has Chutoro. I've tried Sushi Inc, Lemongrass, and The Lure. Not that impressed by any of those.

Tryst St. Pete backsplash details

Every time I walk past Tryst, I am captivated by their cooper/bronze metallic mosaic tile. I’m building a wine cellar and would like to add this as a feature wall. Does anyone know where I can buy it? I’ve done a google lease search but it doesn’t give me the correct one. I also reached out to the restaurant but no one has responded. Thanks for helping my wine cellar dreams come true.

Adding pic from their insta for reference.

Temporary Housing Help

Hi everyone, we lost our house in Helene and have been staying at a friends condo. We have to be out in about a month and have been struggling to find somewhere. We can move home in April hopefully so will need to find somewhere for about 3-4 months. I've been working with Florida Hope, but it's moving slowly and not real confident it will work out. There are 4 of us, two adults and two 4 year olds. Does anyone know of any resources or anything that might help? Thanks so much

Plane spotting from the Pier yesterday

So I watched 2 delta, 2 united, and 1 swa plane take off from PIE (St Pete) yesterday and having been born/raised here, and with a home along the flight path, I can say I've never seen another carrier go over my home to land.

Did these other airlines start flying in/out of PIE or did something happen yesterday? The ol' google didn't net me anything recent.

1 Delta (the first non-allegiant plane I happen to look up and notice) landed back at TPA.

St pete- private spots to have a therapy session?

Anyone know of any office spaces that could be borrowed or maybe a library with private study rooms? 🤔 Looking for this to happen today, therapist not at her regular office, trying to work with me given we've only been virtual so far. Thanks!

Hurricane Aftermath

Hi there! I’m visiting this month to see family as I do every year. We usually switch up staying on the beach & downtown, wondering what the condition of both are after Helene and Milton and if we should stay clear of certain areas. Thanks in advance!

Looking for a Glass/Glaze contractor license holder

Hello! I am an experienced home remodeling sales/marketing professional looking to take everything I've learned in the last decade and start my own company. My only real hurdle is finding a reliable, hungry contractor to qualify the business. If you're a license holder looking to make a change, please reach out!

Alternatively, if you have 4 years of window installation experience with 1 of those years as foreman, I will help you get your glass/glaze license.

Let's talk

Charity food drive bon fire at my house for my fellow Reddit millennials?

My backyard just got redone and thinking I want to meet some new people around my age and doing it for a good cause would be a pretty nice reason to throw a lil get together. I’m a real estate agent so I could buy a bunch of food and drinks for that sweet, sweet tax write off.

I’ve done drives for St Vincent de Paul before and collected donations like non perishable food, socks, toiletries etc. would need to find the right charity with a most needed list of items to make it easy for people to pick up the right things.

I have yard games, beer pong and a fire pit. Will post a pic of my backyard in a minute. Even if only a few people showed up a bon fire would be fun, if a lot I have a good amount of space.

We have been through a lot lately, so how about a place to share to the positives we encountered in the city throughout the week.

Please do not post negative things, this is post for the great things about St. Pete / Pinellas County!

Any kids/families in need of a bike this holiday season?

I have an extra bike that a friend handed to me before they moved. I don't need that many bikes, and I'm trying to convince my husband to get rid of one of his as well. These are adult bikes, but could easily fit a bigger kid. I'd rather give them to a good home then try and get $50 from a pawn ship or off of market place. Are there any gifting family adoption programs looking for one?

St Pete agenda for storm issues

Let's prioritize all this over stadiums

Also re workforce preparation -- we should prioritize training for construction, these jobs will be needed whether or not there is a storm. Many other jobs ( like forecasting, floodplain management) sound more exciting, but we only need a few people.

Adult dance class recommendations?

I (22F) am looking for a dance studio in the St. Pete area. Does anyone have recommendations for good dance classes around here? I’m open to different styles (like salsa, hip-hop, ballroom, etc.) and prefer something beginner-friendly. (I’m a ex-theatre kid and I grew up doing gymnastics for context) Bonus points for a fun and welcoming atmosphere! Thanks in advance!

Looking for reptile rescue/rehoming.

I’m looking for a company who takes surrendered reptiles and has capacity. I had called some companies a few months back but no one had capacity at that time. I sadly don’t remember who I called or how I even found them. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

All of the traffic lights are so messed up

Is it just me or since both storms all of these traffic lights are out of their timing and will close a whole intersection down for a small road for 2 minutes and create a ton of traffic. And is there anything to maybe do to have the city fix it because it makes a once 10 minute drive with normal traffic a 17 minute drive

Divorce support?

I don’t know if I chose the right flair. I know this is a weird question. My husband and I have decide to file for divorce after two years of living apart. Even though it’s been mostly me who had wanted this, filing the paperwork with him this week has me feeling all sorts of fucked up. I am wondering if there are any local support groups for divorce? Are those a thing? Kinda like AA but for divorce? I have a therapist, I’m a veteran and I receive the medical care I need. I have great friends locally but could use a few people who have experienced this to talk to. Thanks for the help.
