yes polyrhythm but why are a lot of songs so groovable? You can just sit back and slowly headbang occasionally being awestruck by the musicianship but man, shits groovy as fuck.
Catch33 for example is essentially just one song and its mesmerizing, almost calming because shit doesnt end. The groove is inevitable. Love it
Do me the favor and listen to Do Not Look Down 3:48
currently (again) on a nothing album binge and I just got stuck (again) at closed eye visuals and the solo in the second half of the song is just face melting, it goes in and out of crazy free jazz and it is almost teasing a coherent melody, with the droning groove in the background only to switch into the simple yet haunting clean guitar part which after some times kicks you in the face when the groove comes back
I really miss these moments in the later albums but at least all their songs sound new every time, even when I listened to them hundreds of times already
I'll go first: Pravus, Stengah or Armies of the Preposterous at the start, The Hurt That Finds You First, Clockworks or Dancers to a Discordant System at the end.
Also, is it just me or would Future Breed Machine also work as an opener? The stage is pitch black, up until out of seemingly nowhere the legendary alarm sound plays and the concert starts.

can someone tell me what the song is at 0:03 shazam didn't work, thank you
And ‘The Magic Circus of Captain Parnae’ is one of the sickest songs I’ve heard in so long. Trumpet metal breakdown at the end had me dancing while hanging my washing out.
Thanks.
My best buddy and I have been stuck in the meshuggah rabbit hole for several months now and enjoy every second of it. Had the idea to make a "first time listener playlist" to have someone have that "click moment" we all had at some point. Since we have friends that don't particularly like listening to metal but are musicians themselves, we want to go from accessible songs (to vibe to) to more complex songs to get them hooked.
Hit us with your picks. It'd be ten songs.
Thanks from Germany!
Who knows when they will play in New York next year ?
The recent interview with Thomas saying they’ve got an extensive tour for the US in march/April next year… do you think it’ll be the same setlist as the one they’ve been playing for a year now? I know it’ll still be an Immutable tour with Broken Cog, GHSIM, Kaleidoscope… (used to have Ligature Marks and The Abysmal Eye) I really wish they put Pravus back on the setlist. Would love to see Dancers live as well.
Personally, Straws Pulled at Random has done wonders for my pelvic floor.
Personally for me, its either transfixtion or humiliative
First ever reddit post solely just to say I’ve grown a transcendental level of respect for this album and its title track in the past few weeks than I ever thought possible given how much I already revered it. Anyone else?
