Hey, I cant seem to find obZen 2023 remaster in their discography on Spotify? But i can find it if i klick the album option when listening to songs that are from the album, played from my playlist?
Is it just me or is this a thing?
Alright I have no way of phrasing this question other than this:
What do you guys think Meshuggah writes about lyrically? Songs like “Rational Gaze” and “I” seem deeply esoteric and border on religious.
“Never stray from the common lines” “Our eyes won’t adhere to intuitive lines” “The pendulum swings semi-attached to the center of all” “Writhing and embraced”
Demiurge is pretty self evident.
I have my own, but I’d like to know some of your favorite lines and interpretations.
I was at Knotfest Brasil and I saw Meshuggah and they plated a song with a siren on it and i’m trying to find the name of this song if anyone knows pls help me out
Many years ago, I saw a clip of what I think was Tomas Haake playing a Metallica song guessing game on a Swedish radio station. I can’t seem to find this clip any more, does anyone have a link? Or maybe it was another member.
I'm pretty new to Meshuggah but I'm curious if anyone knows what specific type of genre this is?
I'm specifically talking about the album art on Destroy Erse Improve and Immutable.
I can't really describe it and I haven't listened to these albums yet, but they give of a certain vibe or energy I can't describe.
Like they're kinda dystopian and transhumanism adjacent, but also expressed in this weird early internet art form that gives it that unique and unnerving tone. I'm wondering if anybody knows what genre of art this is?
It also feels similar (to me) to the art and narrative present in the game Cruelty Squad, and also vaguely in the game Marathon. Maybe even H.R Giger?
The first time I've listened to such complex rhythm and time signatures was with Meshuggah and Tomas. Perhaps my "musical library" is too short, but I was wondering where does he draws his influence and inspirations from. The first thing that comes to mind is technical jazz, but I'm not much "musically gifted" to know if that's actually the case.
They are my favorite hardcore/metalcore band. Some of their tracks remind me of Chaosphere-era Meshuggah.
I’ve always wondered who was doing the call and response type back up vocals with Jens on early songs like future breed machine. I really dig that style of vocals were the singer and then a group of other guys go back-and-forth. And I’ve always wondered if it was members of the band themselves, members of other bands, that Meshuggah might have been friends with, or maybe just Studio performers that aren’t necessarily to Meshuggah other than taking part and these particular songs for great effect.
I am going to guess that the name of Jen‘s is spelled wrong up above, I apologize for that and any other difficulty there is reading this post as I am blind and trying to construct this post via voice to text. Thank you for understanding. It’s this issue of mine that also makes it a little difficult for me to currently look this sort of stuff up on Google due to a number of hurdles. I have to get through to actually get to the information if such as available. Thanks for your time.
I just started learning dancers to a discordant system and im already Stuck on the first Riff. I can play It technically, it isn't that hard but I keep messing up the correct Orders. Basically my fingers can play it but my brain can't.
Me-SHUG-gah
Hi! Some of you might remember me as the weird guy who took a week off his real life in april 2022 to tab all of Immutable (and as much as I want them to release a new album soon, I am also enjoying a bit of time to recover from that...)
Well I also have a band, and since I composed all of the music for this album, obviously a good amount of Meshuggah influence can be heard as they are my favorite band after all... so hopefully (if I read the rules right and what I'm doing is not illegal) I would like to share it as I think that, despite it being more of a prog-death metal album, it could appeal to some of the fellow Meshuggah nerds around here
Thanks in advance for anybody who takes the time to check it out! Much appreciated!

Can’t get into a song? You might be fighting against the groove. What do I mean? Most people follow the beat moving head up and down for each beat. But have you tried left and right? It really opens some of the songs up. I hypothesize that this is because horizontal songs have interesting syncopation tricks, or have accents that are hard to identify. Ligature Marks is a great example of this. It’s so much fun how they seem to throw the accent to each side like ping pong. God He Sees in Mirrors is a bit different, it kinda highlights that the guitar sounds like a slithering snake. Totally makes the solo make rhythmic sense also.
Horizontal songs: Ligature Marks God He Sees In Mirrors Don’t look down Straws Pulled At Random
Vertical Songs: Demiurge Break Those Bones
Man this song always gets me grooving!!
We all love the 'shugg, it's why we're here. As a point of interesting discussion, what individual tracks from their discography don't do it for you?
Doesn't make you a bad person, nothing connects with everyone. I'll start by saying the hurt that finds you first is one I skip from Koloss.
I want to buy a Meshuggah and a carcass shirt but it’s in this website called rebellionrepublic.com and I haven’t seen anyone talks about in Reddit and idk if it’s good or not.
i love the song so much but i just cant find lyrics for it
