Mine is probably Pale Communion.
Can’t wait for the new album! I had to fix some mistakes in this cause I fucked up occasionally. Tuning is standard.
“Pull me down again And guide me into pain”
“…remedying my confusion, fighting not to go mad, bad environments, materialistic animals, abstract people with bad burdens, there will always be people like that, the prince and the vassal. and on this fifteenth day The Drapery Falls is what I get…”
So a like a week ago I went to see Opeth live in LA. I decided I’m not going to the one in San Fransico for no reason. The show was amazing, and they even played 3 out of my top 5 songs by them. At the end of the show I was pretty satisfied, but I kept thinking I wished they played Bleak and Baying of the Hounds. Those two songs were the last ones in my top 5 (if you’re curious my top 5 are BOTH, Ghost Reveries, Deliverance, Heir Apparent, and Bleak), and Baying of the Hounds is my favorite song of all time. I thought they would never play it cuz someone had told they never do. Later did I find out, that they played it in SAN FRANSICO. I have never felt more anger towards a group of people for no reason at all. Then to put salt in the wound, I found they have played many times I just never made it to them. I will never forget this.
I think I have a pretty good ear for telling the difference between an original album and it's remaster/remix, but the Damnation remix is the exception. The only small bits I think I hear is the snare is a bit clearer and maybe the vocals are lower in the mix? I mean it's a remix not even a remaster so Wilson started from scratch with the raw tracks. Am I missing something?
Frederik says it at around 8:07.
Some folks see the face of Jesus in strange places. The condensation from my iced drink left a sudden Opeth logo.
I’ll be covering this song with my band soon - it’s one of my favourites! But I can’t seem to find any interpretation of it in interviews etc. I am so curious as to its meaning. Please let me know what you think! Thanks peeps
Never heard of these.
○ INFINITY I & II ○
Taken from The Roundhouse Tapes DVD, Infinity I and II are short menu tracks that were "hidden" on each disc. While these are interval songs, both capture the gothic aesthetic of Opeth's Ghost Reveries era.
Artwork credit again goes to the inimitable Travis Smith. While the backing visual for Infinity I is the official Roundhouse artwork, Infinity II is a concept that was ultimately not used in any official capacity.

If such a thing does exist...
No, the Sweet Leaf-like laughs at the end of Burden do not count.
Anyone else feel like they’re sitting in a waiting room at the doctor’s office? Just waiting. Got a good book in your hand, but you’re too preoccupied by what’s waiting on the other side of that door to read. Tests, lab results, maybe a Consultation. Ugh and everyone around you is feeling the same by some varying degree but you don’t interact because that would be weird.
“Slight twist, shivering corpse, Ornated with water, fills the cracks, Clasped in my limbs by tradition, This is all you need.”
“…old traditions cannot be changed, ignored not always, with beloved waiting, the days of great battles become adventures. and on this seventeenth day my fun is Bleak…”
Mikael: "[it] was initially meant to be a vocal piece, and I wrote it for Nathalie, who sang 'Coil' on Watershed. Trying to, maybe, do something with her again. And she was a bit weird about the song, she found it a bit complicated to sing [...] and it just never materialized. We tried. Which is a shame, in a way, but I put that song to rest [...] 'whatever, just leave it.' And then I picked it up again, and I [...] recorded a demo version of the song with me playing the supposed vocal melody, but with guitar. And I was listening to it, thinking 'that's a beautiful melody,' so it ended up being an instrumental piece."

The Amen Corner from MA,YH. THIS SONG IS SICK AS FUCK. Oh my God.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
Not a music-related question but I'm looking for the specific model of the PRS Custom 24 Antique White that Mikael plays. If I've understood correctly, it also has a piezo in it, and the white finish is all over the body and on the neck, not only on the top like the one they're selling these days. Anyone of you know which model it is?
If Mikael is the heart, then he is the soul of Opeth. This man has been the steadiest part of the band’s rhythm section since 1997! How many of us are lucky to count ourselves among those who’ve heard his style and creativity truly blossom over the albums and the decades? Méndez is my bass hero! He’s smooth, methodical, and solid, fitting just right with all the stylings of Opeth since the beginning. Truly the little black dress of bassists.
I find myself reaching more and more for White Stones. They have three albums out now and each one builds on the one that came before. In depth, in musicianship, in dynamics. You can definitely hear Martin growing more confident with every installation. Whenever this band starts touring, I’ll be ready to spring for any show they play in the Midwest! Who’s with me??!!
I was listening to Mikeals Clark soundtrack today and I Notice a melody at around 0:55 on Libertine Theme that sounds very familiar. Is it a similar melody as an Opeth song? If so, can some help me find it, it’s driving me CRAZY
