I mean, it would be perfect. First off the way the singer pronounces "stolen" sounds a lot like "Stalin" who is believed by some to be behind Gorky's death especially with the lyrics following after it, "stolen from the light, a primordial giant". Maxim Gorky was allegedly 6'4, which would have been absolutely massive for a Russian back then but even now is still way above average, and there is a photo of him standing next to a bunch of people from a village (don't remember which exact one) and he was heads and shoulders above all of them or obviously very tall, and Leo Tolstoy did describe as if being "born an old man", which is fitting for the "primordial" part too lol.
As you all know, I have a highly problematic obsession with Aquarius. As some of you also know, I love the cover of Aquarius.
For some time now, I´ve had my mind set on the idea of how amazing a proper oil-painting-rendition of the cover would be. I think that would really emphasize the tragedy and sorrow of the story, and particularly of the depicted moment, (oil paintings are also just beautiful). I contacted the original artist of the cover with this inquiry, but I guess that mail is long since abandoned, so no reply there.
Hence, I turn to you guys! If there are any gifted artists or painters among you, please reach out! I know these things are by no means cheap, so I want to get it done properly, and ideally by a fellow fan that understands how meaningful the album is to some folks!
Thanks!
I have the DVD but I can´t rip it, as I have no disc drive.
I really rather wouldn´t spent the 10€ for the full digital album, as I really only need Aquamedley.
Can anyone send me the Aquamedley flac/wav?
Hey guys, I found this stuff at my parents house from many years ago. I believe I bought the CD and then received the rest of the promo pics and business cards etc. when I bought a t-shirt at a later date. Could anyone give me an idea on whether or not this would be sought after and ideas on where could potentially be a good place that list for sale
Hi everyone, I created an acoustic fingerstyle cover of the song Initiate. I transposed it to D standard and slowed it down by 10%. I'm curious what you all think about it? (I dedicated this to my father, who passed away this summer...)
Did anyone else notice how much Ross improved through the years? I was just listening to some Affinity songs and then compared to Fauna, and i noticed some huge improvementa. You can even go back to Aquarius or Visions. He used to sing with this thin/nasal voice (was still good tho), but now he has a more deep/stronger singing voice, which is better, in my opinion. What do you guys think?
Hey Everyone, this is the first single my band has recently put out. It’s a short-ish, fast paced and upbeat prog song with inspiration from Dream Theater, Haken and Cassiopeia melding fusion with prog metal. It would be awesome to get the prog community’s thoughts on it! Enjoy!
It’s on all streaming services currently.

Hello again everyone! Last January I made a post in this subreddit (as well as on The Dream Theater Forums, if any of you are on there) announcing and sharing my concept album III: The Sparrow & The Architect and I received some really positive feedback. Haken has been a big influence on me over the last almost decade and that influence carries over into this concept project, so I hope you all feel it's appropriate that I post about it here.
Today I'm proud to share my latest concept album, IV: Timber is now available to stream on all major streaming platforms! I wrote, produced, arranged, played, and mixed everything myself, so I appreciate any interaction, even if it’s just a follow or playlist add.
The story takes place in October of 1975, and tells of Benjamin "Timber" Timberton, a lumberjack and Vietnam War veteran, who is losing the toughest battle of his life - accepting the death of his best and oldest friend, Brett Godfrey. The only surviving member of his platoon, Timber has been back stateside for a few years after an honorable discharge due to injury in the attack that killed his team - Brett being one of those casualties. Facing survivor's guilt, shell shock, and depression, he feels he has very little left and has turned to alcohol to comfort his pain. Ashley, his wife, desperately wants the man she married to return to her, but she has had little luck getting through to him. One night, his thirst for inebriation mysteriously leads him out of his town of Grizzly Hollow and into the strange town of Burdale. There, at The Burdale Bar, he tells the barkeep his sorrowful story. Seated in a nearby booth, an old woman known to locals as The Witch overhears his story and makes him an offer that may be his last...
I'm so proud of this album and I hope you all enjoy. It's a very different journey and experience than III: The Sparrow & The Architect, as I focused more on incorporating the music into the narrative by having important melodies and motifs recur throughout. One melody, represents the desire for death which, in turn, represents our main character Timber and his heartbreaking motivation. Another melody represents the concept of life and the desire to live, which doubly represents his wife Ashley and her yearning for Timber to persist and work to move past these internal demons he's facing. There are other melodies and motifs that recur throughout but I'll let you discover those for yourself.
Fun fact, I included a lyric in my song The Key that is a tribute to a line in The Path!

I know some have been made for fauna and affinity I think? I would absolutely love to learn some of the riffs and solos, actually unreal .
I wasn't a big Haken fan before (and I still need to explore the whole discography) but I absolutely adored Fauna and I really hope they're doing a Flora album next lol. I think it'd come out great (and if they want to do a three-album theme type of thing the one after could be Fungi? Lol)
I was talking with a friend about how it's one of my favourite haken songs, but he thinks it's the worst song they've made, so I'd like to get some outside opinions to try and see what the rest of y'all think about it
Just listened to all 22 minutes of visions 5 times over and I'm still not done with it😅 It took my a while to get in to haken but the architect broke the ice for me after really sitting down and listening to it. I now love all their 20 minute long epics!
Am i the only one who for a long time didn't notice this scream at the end of falling back to earth at 10:25? It was pretty cool discovering it. Dem good stuff. Has Ross screamed any other times outside Aquarius?
I just became a massive fan virtually overnight. I'm wondering if they'll tour north america in 2025, or if they're more likely to go back into the studio?
Personally, i think it’s amazing but i never hear anyone talk about it.
