I wanna know since if there isn’t, I wanna make one, but if there is, I wanna join it. Tried searching For it but couldn’t find it, so I’m Gonna ask here.
These guys were at the top of their game all night. Thank god they are coming back next year.
After the new album was released this year. What is your current top 10?
Here is mine:
Rewind
Forced Entry
The Valley
The Flood
Contaminate Me
Mb. Indifferentia
Foe
Chronic
From The Flame
The Sky is Red
Some fierce competition from some big names, but I think Drumeo will make the right decision!
Hey guys!
Just had a random thought when I was listening to 'I Hear the Sirens' off of the Atonement album. I thought that the rhythm and melody sounded very similar to a song they've made previously but I can't seem to pinpoint what that song is exactly. Is it just me or does it sound like it to you guys?
Sounds like something off of the Pitfalls album or am I just crazy? It really sounds so familiar!
Somebody please reassure my qualms!!! :DDD
A few years ago someone claimed (Hebrew) that the chorus in "Red" is written in 25/25 time signature. I guess what he meant is actually 25/5, because this is how it sounds like. But is it true, or can it be explained using a simpler time signature, such as 25/4 or 5/4?
So I just came across this Ihsahn performance from Wacken 2016: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0F7MjkZJd4Y . The "Celestial Violence" performance is amazing. Personally, I love Ihsahn's solo work. Definitely worth checking out. To my knowledge Robin was not in Leprous back then, while the drummer must be the one from Leprous' original line-up.
P.S. Christmas dinners in the Solberg - Tveitan household must be very interesting.
Whenever I'm listening to Acquired Taste, some parts remind me of Travel by The Gathering, especially after around 06:00-ish. Is it just me?
This comparison always makes me think how great a Leprous&Anneke collab could be.
Read the room ofc, but when I saw them this last September the room said no 😞 I hoped that maybe for the second half of like a sunken ship & that one heavy bit of faceless there might have been one but nah. I don’t mean the karate kid pits just the pushing ones
What are the chances that I ever find Tall Poppy Syndrome on vinyl in the US? It's the only one I'm missing from my collection
Melbourne show, at the Monolith gig, also hung out with the guys and gal from novelists, most excellent.
I was unsure about songs from the newest album but holy shit they hit differently live, every song they played was incredible.. besides them blue balling me and only playing the last half of the sky is red. You bustards!
Figured this would be the place to share.
Heading in to the Sydney show at Monolith and my drum nerd partner stops suddenly and yells something through a fence ... Turns out he'd recognised Baard, who came over and had a chat with us! What a champion.
So my three kids love Leprous. They’re coming back next spring and I already have my ticket to the show in DC. Assuming the venue doesn’t have an age limit, has anyone brought younger kids to one of the shows? My kids will be 8, 10, and 13 next year. A Leprous show feels like one of the better bands to see when young/small, but I wondered if anyone else is in my shoes.
I know it's a ways off but an "evening with" tour in 2029 celebrating 20 years of TPS and 10 years of Pitfalls would be the dream. Excited to go to one of the Congregation dates this spring but TPS is (at least currently) my favorite Leprous album and it'd be awesome if they performed it in its entirety live one day.
So i just watched this interview of Robin (see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lqMvlZczJg ), who says that one of his favourite artists is Nils Frahm. I love this artist as well and I recently came across an amazing concert video of him in a channel called ARTE, which features amazing live performances (i hope to see Leprous there as well). So i thought of sharing it with you, to spread the word. I know that Nils Frahm is pretty huge in Europe, but i have no clue about his popularity in the USA. Anyway, enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPPzQgTaLbo
I’ve heard bits and pieces from the band over the past few years but never really dove in head first , however I saw them live this past weekend and my god !
It felt religious, in the most beautiful way. Warmth , light and a connection with my heart and soul.
During From the Flame joyous tears welled , then rolled down from my eyes. I didn’t want the tears or the music to stop.
I am very late to the party , however glad that I am here now.
I'm so fucking stoked!! I have been a big Leprous fan ever since I first heard The Price like 10(?) years ago. Going to see them for the first time in April with my wife.
I knew it was meant to be when I saw they were playing w/ Wheel. I just discovered this band a few months ago and they are so good.
We got VIP tickets to the show in MA on 5/10. They don’t have VIP at the NY show this year. Just wondering what to expect.
Guys, I've just discovered Leprous this week. I am just finishing "Bilateral" as I write this and I'm freaking out. How the fuck did I miss this band all those years?
As a longtime Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Mars Volta fan and prog music afficionado in general... I feel like I haven't heard a good album for the past 15 years. And now I discover this. I've been sleeping BIG TIME. Holy fuck this is good, unique and rich.
I have goosebumps and soooo looking forward to playing their whole discography over and over.
Had to share my excitement somewhere haha!
Does anyone have the presale code? Assuming it got sent out already and I for some reason didn’t receive it lol
Edit: the code is Atonement2025
Heeey, odd question. Maybe I’m just dumb when it comes to vinyl. I recently saw Leprous live, awesome! But I bout Melodies of Atonement on the blue marble vinyl, and I tried to play it at its regular speed 331/3, but it’s was far to slow, so I switched to 45 and it plays fine.
I checked my other records at the 33 speed and they play as normal. Does anyone else have this record and have the same issue?
Question answered! Thanks for everyone’s input.
