I looked up how to do it on YouTube and it’s not that I don’t think I could it’s that I don’t have the patience and I’ll probably break something. If anyone knows of anyone or place that can do it relatively cheap that would be great!
This country has accepted facism and most people either don't care or openly advocate for it. I'm looking for any political groups or affiliations to join that are left of Democrat in Beaver County to try to make a positive contribution in our communities.
How’s the school district for inclusivity?
I'm in Beaver County waiting for a hip replacement. I need a couple loads of laundry washed, dried and folded. Does anyone know of a local company who provides that service?...pick up and drop off.
They’ve never done anything here but make Ambridge a better place. So let’s look out for our brothers and sisters if they need in the near future.
In search for a new place for Mexican today, we stopped into Cantina Bar and Grill in Rochester.
I kind of scoffed at $4 for a taco, but that is because I had no idea what a real street taco was. I ordered two and couldn't finish. They come with doubled-up tortillas so I split mine to make them more manageable to fit in my mouth.
Hands down the best I've ever had. Green and red sauce are both incredible. I got extra to go, and I'm that guy who brings his own hot sauce when he goes out.
They have $1 tacos on Tuesday, and it may sound silly, but I won't ever take advantage of that because I would feel guilty.
I don't think I can ever eat at a Mexican restaurant with a numbered menu ever again.
Is anyone here working at the cracker plant and employeed by Shell?
I'm not sure if anyone can answer this. My wife got offered a job in PA. She took it and we've started the move. Originally from N.E. Ohio all our family is close. When looking at houses we really liked the Beaver area. Coming from a bigger city with a kid we didn't want to live in the city anymore. I put an offer and are in closing right now. 2 weeks from closing and the loan office said they were wrong about our taxes. And they will be double then they said they were. I'm really confused. Double by itself seems crazy anyways. On a 250,000 houses they would be 12k for the year? Does that seem right?
I'm currently living in Downtown Pittsburgh. A steep $1550 price is what I've been paying. Glad I'll be moving mid March.
I have 4 main criterias for my next city/borough that I'm moving to:
Safe neighborhood, affordable ($1200 price or less), gym close by, and a grocery store nearby/relatively nearby. I'm looking to rent, not buy.
Any borough/city recommendations?
I'd like to rent a house but I'll settle for a nice neighborhood townhome/apartment. I'd also like parks and churches nearby. But once again, just focused on a city/borough that hits the 4 main criteria.
Edit: From recommendations and research, seems like I should heavily check out Beaver and Brighton Township. I found no rentals for Brighton Township.
I liked our current venue. the staff is awesome.
I am a day late with this post, but on Thursday 1/9/25 at about 4pm, I was traveling down 65 from New Brighton towards Ambridge, and when I was going past the Vicary House in Freedom, there was a police officer in the opposite lane stopped with his lights on. And from my viewpoint, it looked like there was a dead bald eagle on the road in front of his cruiser - similar to the way that I have seen police stop when there is a dead deer in the road.
It definitely was a large bird, it could have been a hawk or vulture of some sort, but I really think it was a bald eagle.
Did anyone else see this, or hear anything about it?
Power is out near the chippewa Walmart. Anybody else with no power
Bf is newly sober but we still want to go out and do something and have fun NYE..
Any events or suggestions welcome! I know some breweries have events. We are located in hookstown but don't mind traveling to robinson, east palestine, Pittsburgh etc..
I live on Tuscarawas Rd in Brighton Twp and there was a pretty significant explosion around 10:15. Anyone have an update on this?
Quick question for you all - someone recently told me that the Beaver Valley Mall allows dogs in the concourse and that there’s even a dog walking group that meets there.
We wanted to get our pup some more exercise this winter, so we’re hoping it’s true and we can take her when the weather is bad.
Thanks!
I wanted to make a full documentary about the sirens, nuclear, fire, you name it, I most likely got it on there. This video can help with the history of the old sirens, new ones, and a few others.
Does anybody know about a furrier “Furs by Anthony” in Beaver County or possibly Pittsburgh that was in business in the 1990’s. I inherited a coat from my mom and I’m trying to find out more about them.
Basically the title. I’m in Center Twp. Thanks!
Ever since I’ve moved here this bit of road has had construction going on. Felt like when a new path opened in a Pokémon game.
Anyone have Go Netspeed internet in the Hopewell area? I really want to quit Xfinity but can't find any reviews about Go Netspeed.
https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/beaver-borough-2025-property-tax-increase/
What is crazy is Beaver Bureau is currently at 3.58 mills - this is an incredible first year increase after the re-assessment, to go to 5.58 which is a 56% increase.
Each mill represents .1% of your home assessment so let’s say your home is assessed at $300,000… 2 mills is going to be a $600 increase in taxes for next year for just this two mill increase.
The school tax & the county tax will also go up. So just looking at this two mill increase added to this year‘s total mileage for Beaver Bureau you’re looking at 22.24 mills which would equate to a total of $6,672 on a house assessed at $300,000 - but most likely your total taxes will be even higher than that when we find out the county and Beaver school tax increase for next year.
I think Beaver‘s new slogan should be Beaver, someplace special… if you can afford the taxes!!
Okay who's got taco Tuesday specials around Beaver county? (Americano style)
