Post and discuss anything and everything related to the great town of Oakmont Pennsylvania.

We're looking for cool places with a decently large selection of pumpkins/gourds/hay bails and other Fall/Halloween decorative items. Other activities for kids like corn mazes and hayrides are a bonus.
Anyone got a good favorite spot around here or in the general east-Pittsburgh area?
We are moving to Pittsburgh in the end of May and trying to buy a house has been brutal! I fear we are running out of time since our move in end of May. I am not local and I am trying to find out if I am missing some local resource where houses may be listed outside the traditional. Or if anyone has any non-traditional strategies that work in that market. Looking in Oakmont, Fox Chapel, or the Allison Park area.
So I am supposed to get a cake from the oakmont bakery for next Saturday. Do I need to preorder or can I just go buy a cake on Saturday morning? Also any recommendations on what to get?
Thanks a million
Anyone can start learning how to ski. I taught a 55 year old beginner to ski black diamonds (some of the steeper hills) in one day. While being physically fit plays a role, even couch potato's can ski.
I'm an expert skier, with 10 years of skiing under my belt. I'm looking to help people get into skiing with a teaching environment that is safe and relaxed. Everything from what to wear, how to ski without injuring yourself, and equipment will be discussed. You can email me at traininathan@yahoo.com for injuries and serious solicitations.
(This price is the teaching fee, rental equipment and lift ticket prices vary from place to place and are not included in ski lesson price)
Went there this morning (open at 6am), no words to describe the awesomeness of this place! Just have to experience it yourself! We took a number 3 times before we were ready to order.
I’m curious to know how people feel about lower Oakmont. Is is a nice area? Established? Up and coming due to the new construction?
I’d really appreciate any and all opinions.
I live over the bridge and am curious about it. Truth be told, I think that I went to the Oakmont Bakery more times when in was in the old location, but I’m glad that they are doing very well.
We finally got scheduled for the local school district to appeal the tax amount on our property. We bought the property just over a year ago, and because of that, they want up the amount of taxes we pay. Does anyone have any success self-defending against this? Any recommendations or things to do to prepare? Questions that they may ask? Etc...
So does anyone know the plan or the new traffic patterns? It looks like it's going to be a hot mess to me.
Don't expect anyone to see this anytime soon because this page is almost dead, but I am just curious how far or where this alarm is coming from.
It's not the normal VFD alarm, but rather a off on alarm for about 10 seconds every time it starts raining. Anyone else hearing that?
Which one should I go to?
So I seen this posted on lawyers.
Q: The parties bring attendees from a few neighboring states. Our entire street is taken by cars parked on both sides. They come and go at all hours. They’re noisy and can be a very disturbing sight because of their wardrobe. I believe neighbor profits from activity since partygoers wear wristbands. I already asked neighbor to at least downsize his activities. He did nothing. Entire community is affected by this! (Oakmont, PA)
Anyone have more information on this? Where it happens?

We have some exciting news!
Over the last year, we saw record attendance at our shows. As show after show sold out, we hurried to add additional showtimes and screenings to accommodate the demand, and so that hopefully no one would miss out!
With this in mind, we've decided to add room for even more people to enjoy our shows, while at the same time restoring an element of the original architecture of the theater by once again opening up the back wall of the auditorium, as it was in the original design.
This redesigned space will feature a bar with more draft beer, seating, and access from inside of the auditorium, so that you won't miss a moment of the show!
We'll also be adding additional table seating as we know it's a much loved feature that now more people will be able to enjoy. Our classic auditorium seating will remain in the center as well as on the left and right sides.
We hope you'll enjoy the design as a wonderful blend of old and new. We'll be keeping you posted on the progress!
Last but not least, we want to sincerely thank all of you as you have helped make this theater what it is by being our wonderfully fun, supportive and kind audience throughout the years we have been building new programming at The Oaks.
We hope you'll continue to enjoy The Oaks Theater as we work to bring you the absolute best programming and experience for you and your friends and family to enjoy for years to come.
From all of us at The Oaks, thank you, and we'll see you at the show!
