Articles, photos and discussion about the Earth's moon.

The Moon is an astronomical body that orbits planet Earth and is Earth's only permanent natural satellite.

It is the fifth-largest natural satellite in the Solar System, and the largest among planetary satellites relative to the size of the planet that it orbits.

Full moon tonight, view from my window.

We love our usual ospreys, alligators, boats , fireworks and sunsets but this moon was just so vibrant and beautiful I had to share.

April 23 AM, Object flies in front of moon.

Probably nothing out the ordinary, just curious. A bug shouldnt be in focus enough to even show up, a bird higher in the sky maybe but it would have to be moving fast, idk. Someone with more experience tell me what it likely is, I'm going with bug. -Bottom from right to left-

(Galaxy S20 stuck on an 80 dollar generic telescope with an upgraded eyepiece.)
