I was just wondering what cases are people getting for their new iPhone 16 pro? My go to in the past has been the Otterbox Symmetry series and I might just stick with that. Anyone else doing Otterbox? Open to any suggestions, thanks.

I’ve been on Android and the older iPhones for the past few years and just recently got my first iPhone between X and the current (15), I recently discovered this screen when I swipe down on the bottom, what exactly is this? Reminds me of the dual window mode on Android.

I’ve noticed Snapchat, safari and the files apps have tried to download random files out of nowhere in the past couple days. Some are when the phone is locked, and will say something along the lines of “Dowlnoad of (file name) has failed”, or when I’m in safari it will prompt me to download files when I’m actively using the app. Anyone know what this is? Do I have malware?

My iPhone 15 pro on iOS 17.7 started changing the time zone from central to eastern time and I have to go into settings and recheck the set automatically switch. Is this a time server issue or a problem with my phone? All the forum posts I found just tell you turn off the auto time sync option.

For the people that upgraded to IOS 18, Did you see changes in reception, speed, and tower hand-offs or did it stay the same?

My estranged mother found out my address somehow (approximate address, building next door). She doesn’t have my info. The only people that have this address are my sisters since I just moved here. They haven’t told her. All of us have iPhones (she has no contact with me).

Is it possible she was able to track my sisters phone while they were at my place? Even though they both have their location off? Since she got the approximate address (sister found out while looking through her notepad).

I'm really excited to finally upgrade my iPhone 11 and purchase the iPhone 16 Pro next month! It's been a long time coming and finally will be worth the upgrade. What are you all most excited about with the new iPhone 16 series? I am curious to see how it will work with my 2020 M1 MacBook Pro and my iWatch that I got in 2020 as well.

this problem appeared suddenly, and i did not change my chargers. other chargers also do not work. what could the problem be?

I can see their live location moving in the Snapchat app (and I'd rather not use it) but I only have "Now" in Find My so I need to quit the app and open it again to get an accurate location.

I feel like the jump in camera quality from one pro max to the next was usually decent. At least from the 14 pro max to the 15, we got extra zoom in the camera.

as far as I can tell, we’re not even getting that this time. I was kind of hoping for greater zoom.

I do know one of the lenses was bumped in megapixels and that’s fine, but not really a make it or break it thing.

Since many of us feel the iPhone 16 isn’t a big upgrade. Here’s more reason to keep your old phone by squeezing another year at least from my iPhone. Apple has an official website (https://www.selfservicerepair.com/) and yes that’s the official site 😅. You can rent official repair equipment from Apple for $50. I’m going to opt for using my own iFixit tools and a heat gun to bring the total cost to about $50 (after sending them the old part). Keep in mind if you go with a different third party part replacement, your parts may not work as expected and your phone will constantly annoy you about non-genuine parts. So if you want to sell your phone later on you may want to use Apple’s genuine parts.

I got a refurbished iPhone 11 a few weeks ago. I noticed this week (due to my mothers complaint) that if I’m on my phone at all while on the phone with someone, she can hear every tap on the phone as if my ringer was on. Same for voice recordings/memos.

I’ve turned off every haptic setting I can think of. I’ve restarted my phone. What’s going on?

Any tips and tricks

I am about to get the new iphone 16 pro and I want to get a case for it that primarily focuses on protection. I am switching from android to iphone and ive had a mous case on my phone for 3 years no problems. I see that they have cases for that but wanted to see if anyone has recommendations. I would also like a screen protector, can be either hybrid or tempered. The one I currently have is hybrid so I dont really have a preference. Looks isnt that big of an issue to me but I will consider looks as well. I primarily want something that I know will keep my phone safe from everyday drops. As for the screen protector ive seen the dbrand prism 2.0 and was thinking about that one as they have a really easy way to put it on. But as always any recommendations welcome.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with CarPlay running iOS18? Music and maps seem to work, but having a phone call is essentially impossible. Call starts, immediate delay, call time not updating, break ups, etc. It even made my head unit go black screen at one point. The minute I disconnect from the cable the cal audio is fine both ways when on speaker or handheld.

While I intermittently had this issue to a lesser degree on iOS 17, this is terrible. I’ve restarted my phone, car, made sure my car system was updated etc.

This is occurring on an iPhone 14 Pro in a 2020 Toyota 4Runner. This is a wired CarPlay connection and I’ve tried multiple Apple cables.

Sorry if this has been asked previously but I would like to have some peoples thoughts on whether Apple will lock certain AI features to Pro phones.

The Verge: “16 pro max screen size feels meaningfully bigger than the 15 pro max” - take my money (15 pro max user). F*** a macbook, iPad (I am a an employed business manager who doesn’t need to edit hipstery creative stuff)….iPhone is and will be my main work/leisure device. IMO we’ve reached the pinnacle of “handheld computer” with 16 pro max hardware wise, this is it . I’m only interested in software from now on……..hardware wise make the battery last a month ))))

Granted the button has been redundant since its inception where swiping to the left opens the camera, but now with the dedicated camera button on the 16 range, it seems the default Home Screen camera icon is less useful than ever.

Any plans for users to dedicate this button to another app? I just experimented with it opening the home app
