Did not experience any shut downs at all but after the update i started seeing this. The phone is not even charging. Anyone else having this problem? I think it might be a battery saver bug.

Is there an app available that either displays a random message (eg. Number 1 of 50) on a widget or the Lock Screen of an iPhone?

I’m not sure if it’s the nostalgia factor or just wanting a change, but the idea of a flip phone just seems so awesome. The likelyhood of Apple doing one anytime soon seems so slim.

If I weren’t so ingrained in the ecosystem/had 40+ unbeaten games…

Currently, I'm rocking an iMac, iPhone 14PM, Airpods, and an Apple Watch, while my girlfriend has iPad and iPhone 15PM.

I've been contemplating adding a Windows PC to the mix, probably opting for the Razer Blade and moving away from the iMac (work Excel heavy, editing and video, plus gaming). I'm curious about how to effectively integrate my iPhone with the new Windows PC. Any tips or suggestions from the community?

Also, I'm thinking of switching out my Airpods for some third-party ones like Bose. Does anyone know if I'll still be able to use iPhone ShareAudio seamlessly with my partner if she's also using a different (non Apple) brand like Bose or Sony?

Why does the camera quality keep degrading with every major iOS update? At the time of purchase, it felt so smooth and color-enriched. Now, the transition from iOS 14 to 17 has taken a huge hit on my camera. Image processing is slower, and the colors have dropped significantly. It just feels like Apple is forcing users to upgrade to newer models.

We see from the iPad and Android phones with lesser hardware specs that split screening apps and pop-up windows to multi-task is neither a hardware or OS limitation. Do you think the feature will come to iPhone soon (next 18 months?) and is it something you would like to see?

When my iPhone 14 Pro is unattended on a table (and eyes recognition required is turned OFF) it disables Face ID and asks for passcode multiples times a day, as when it gets notifications it continuously tries to unlock scanning a face and after a certain number of failed attempts (as no face is found in front of the iPhone) it will asks for passcode when I pick it up. it is highly irritating and makes everything but a joy using the iPhone. It is related to every iPhone that has FACE ID. Please fix this!!! The iPhone should check if a face is recognised before even attempting to unlock itself with FACE ID, you can hear the vibration from failed Face ID unlock when it is on a table and receiving notifications…

So I notice lately while watching TikTok on my 13P that during some videos the screen will get super, super light. Like HDR gets activated. But while I check my brightness setting in control panel it's on my normal level which is around 50%.

I've notrice the same in Facebook Reels, What's the deal and how can I turn this off?

so yesterday i forgot my charger and my phone ran out and turned off. well this morning i tried to charge it and it shows nothing, it showed the charging symbol twice but when i came back the phone wasnt on and it wouldnt work. i tried different cables but it doesent work. when i press the side button or plug it in nothing happens

This happened before. WhatsApp audios don’t work and neither does the voice recorder app. The sound is almost nonexistent.

It then resolves itself with nothing having happened at all. This was 6-7 months ago.

It happened again last week. It just stopped working again. Updated software. Restarted phone. Cleaned out the ports.

What is going on?

No issues with anything else. No droppages or anything.

I’m wondering if there is a way to access messages from years ago. I need them for something important.

I came in from work and turned my phone on silent. Then held the volume button down until the ringer volume went all the way down.. and then dragged the top right menu down to turn the app volume down. I thought that was everything.

It's important for me to keep quiet after a certain hour.. I opened up Insta thinking everything was super quiet, and the first video I clicked on blasted the whole house with sound, almost max volume. I held the volume button down and it slowly decreased down to zero.

What is this mysterious surprise volume? And how was it at max, shouldn't it have gone down with the menu volume decrease? It was operating independently. How many volume meters are there and how can I manually guarantee a quiet/silent phone no matter which apps I'm accessing? This is important to my living space so I appreciate any pointers.

it only ever happens on the X app (or at least that's what i noticed) the lag and freeze are extremely frustrating it makes me want to throw my phone sometimes (i don't though). there are times when i'm typing something the screen just freezes for seconds. when i click on anything in the app the screen freezes for a while too.

also i notice that although not lagging there are times that clicking on browsers is not very responsive. this is so stupid. older iphone are actually better than this. is there a fix to this?

After my wedding seven weeks ago, I contacted Apple Support requesting my Apple ID changed due to my name change. Apple Support obliged due to meeting one of their very limited eligibility scenarios that included an end user’s name had change. A Senior Advisor instructed me to sign out of iCloud on all of my devices and my account would be placed in Escalation Mode for the Engineering Department to make the update. I also had to provide three proposed new Apple IDs for the engineers to use in case one of them was already taken.

A few days later the Senior Advisor called me back and confirmed the Apple ID had been updated and directed me to sign in with the new ID. Upon signing in, I was presented with the message “iCloud Data Isn’t Syncing.” The workflow to resume data sync prompts for the device passcode and then requests a code from my recovery contact. After entering the recovery contact code, the screen freezes and doesn’t do anything else. As expected, this prevents access to nearly every iCloud service and app to include iCloud.com. Although I can receive email on my new iCloud email address, sending email fails. I can’t even access the Home app to control the lights in my home, although the scheduled automation continues its incorrect daylight savings time rituals. The problem even prevents me from logging out of iCloud and restoring the devices new and from backups also do not resolve.

We are starting week 8 of persistent troubleshooting with Apple and are no closer to a proposed resolution than we were on day 1. I have performed so many repetitive logging sessions, screen recordings, and support profile installs that I have lost count. I have lost all hope in Apple’s support system as I’ve been passed from one Senior Advisor to the next who opens case after case because each engineering group kicks the can to the next. It’s a shame when the nuclear option of emailing Tim to plead for help is answered with a “there’s no further escalation” message.

Nearly two months after getting married and Apple engineers changing my Apple ID, I still have no access to iCloud data or services. I was blind in recognizing how Apple had the propensity to become a single point of failure that impacts so much of my day to day life.

I'm planning on getting some screen protectors for my iPhone 8 and an iPhone XS. The one that the Apple Store installed when I bought my iPhone 8 in 2018 has worked pretty well but since they gave it to me already installed, I don't know the brand. Which brand does Apple usually use?

I saw that iFixit sells one called NuGlas, and Amazon recommends a brand called New'C, but I've never heard of either of these brands. Do you guys know any good brand you'd recommend?

I upgraded from 12 mini to 15 and transferred everything via the normal setup.

Now multiple things don’t work anymore:

Adding things in the grocery list no longer files it automatically under the relevant category.

I can’t add custom stickers through the photo app. Though I can outline and click add to stickers, it just won’t add it.

I also just found out that I can no longer send screenshots. After taking a screenshot and pressing send on my whatsapp contact, simply nothing will happen.

Since these are features in the core Apple apps, I’m pretty bummed. Any idea on how to solve this? iOS is 17.1.2

it’s completely replaced the reminders app for me. has a really cool minimalist UI and allows you to move your schedule around easily. it also syncs with calendar and reminders as well

can’t recommend it enough for unorganized people like myself. been using the reminders app and while it got the job done this is so much better in every way. the free version is still pretty good though I use it enough that it was worth it for me to subscribe for a year for the pro version for $10
