I bought a brand new 13 inch iPad Air today and set it up in my car using the hot spot off of my phone.
Since then it will not properly connect to wifi and when it does connect to wifi the wifi doesn’t work (despite working on my phone and every other device in my house).
I have restarted the ipad - and nothing.
Have attempted a factory reset and it has told me it is unavailable?
Any advice on how to fix this?? Did I purchase a bugged ipad that just doesn’t work??? Has anyone ever had this issue. I literally cannot restart it to a brand new ipad.
Hey everyone, just to be clear this isn’t about what’s better in general but what you guys think helps serve your memory best I am about to do my first semester of college (EE if curious) and was thinking about getting an iPad for note taking. Everything about it seems better if not the same except for missing out on the feel of the paper and having to look at a screen and while I’m not set on it one thing I have always appreciated the way note taking helps my memory I was wondering if anyone has any experience of a difference in how they feel. Thanks for your time.
Hi, I have an iPad Pro 2020 12,9". I was using it 4 hours ago but now, it’s just a black screen (well grey because its still on) Even by restarting it, its still black, Apple icon doesnt show up. I tried to use Windows app Apple Devices to restore. But its stuck on verifying the restoration.
Do someone know what can i do, or what the problem is?
After the deal posted here recently, I’m about ready to pull the trigger on a mini 7 from Costco. I just have 2 remaining questions:
Nothing should be stopping me from buying AppleCare once I get the device, right? I should have 60 days to purchase it through Apple? I only ask this because the listing notes that “AppleCare+ not sold separately, must be purchased with a qualifying apple device at time of checkout”. I assume that is just for purchasing it through Costco, correct?
Assuming I can buy it through Apple once I get the device, my second question is should I? It’s $15 cheaper through Costco but I’ve seen a few threads up people not having theirs activate right away (or not at all?)
Are you wondering which iPad is best for you, or if you should buy one in the first place? Are you hesitating between the 12.9" versus the 11"? Which keyboard/mouse should you get or what is the best screen protector out there? Are you looking for shipping information? This is the place to ask. My old Air 2 just abandoned me and I need a new iPad. I work on my MBP M3 Pro 16” so I just need the iPad to watch videos on flights/when I eat. I don’t need to use the Pencil but I’m a bit worried of the lack of laminated display on the iPad 10. Considering the price (350/400€) should I buy a refurbished Air 4 (I’m worried about cpu performance on a used device) or a new iPad 10? Thanks
My Dad's old Ipad got locked and he doesn't remember his apple id password, is there a way to unlock it with his Iphone which is logged in on the same account?.
we would prefer not resetting it because the ipad has important docs to my dad and even some old family photos.
Hi, I have the iPad Pro fourth generation, and after one year, my Apple Pencil is bent and becoming impossible to sick onto my iPad. I bought an Apple Pencil pro by mistake, is there a third party way to connect the two? I also misplaced the pencil so many times, that’s why I wanted the pro. If not, can I get the pencil replaced for free?
Thanks!
Hi, I am looking for software for ipad in which:
-reading medical books I can annotate with my finger,
-then the book in pdf is sent to onedrive for example
,-open the file next annotations are added e.g. on windows, and again transferred to onedrive,
-I download from onedrive, open the book with annotations from ipad + windows.
My requirements theoretically meet xodo, however it is expensive. Can I find any alternative?
In my files, “on my ipad” in a google “chrome” folder… it’s just pdfs of textbooks and readings or epubs already on my kindle i downloaded. I have the pdfs on my Goodnotes app to annotate; since they’re in their respective places, can i empty this folder? I just need to back them up, for caution, in those apps? Just tryna understand “where” my files are, where i don’t need them etc. Thanks:D
My iPad which I have been using for about a year and a half now has started to go down the drain in more ways than I have the ability to fix. I plan on getting a new one in just a few days and transferring all of the data from this one to the next one. I also intend to transfer everything from my own home and not from an Apple store. My question is will I now have two iPads with the same data? Will the data be erased from this iPad and now on the new one? I am asking because I have a special game that does not always survive transferring and I would hope that the data doesn't erase just in case I need to do more to transfer the game progress
You guys I hate hate hate the new floating apps on iOS 18 I want my good old split screen, floating screens don't utilize whole half of the screen even if u want em too and it literally sucks when u click on one accidentally and it pops to front. UGH I WANT THE SPLIT SCREEN FOR MULTI TASKING
Hello, I hope you're doing well. The ipad Pro m4 uses Tandem Oled, which has PWM
What is the frequency of it? Is it similar or worse than the s24 ultra? and for people who have the ipad, does it cause eye strain or headaches, or is it fine?
Got this one last week. Very Happy with the purchase. I think iPad is the best Apple device as it has no competition. Android ecosystem just sucks
So i am about to buy one of the new iPads for Christmas. Never had or used one before, but I think for my use case it will be perfekt. Still undecided wich one it will be.
I want to use it for some basic work I have to do once and while. Like writing some emails, letters and basically office stuff. A bit of gaming and media consumption as well. Some management of fotos and data. Trying to replace my old windows pc wich I rly don’t use anymore. Right now i do nearly everything on my iPhone 12 Pro. I like doing those stuff while watching something on my oledtv. But it gets annoying with the small screen and no keyboard.
Currently I lean towards the iPad Air m2 (11“). The 13“ seems a bit to big, specially for some couch media consumption. And right now I don’t know what I could do with the IPad Pro what i couldn’t with the iPad Air.
I am curious about the Apple Intelligence stuff. As far as i know it should work with the iPad Air m2 as well. But will it work good? Are there any use cases where the m4 chip rly shines?
Will a usb c hub work with the iPad Air/pro? So I can connect with that one usb c slot a monitor, maybe a external drive and charging cable at once?
I rly appreciate if someone can answer my few questions and/or tell me your own experience with the iPad Air m2 or pro m4.
Thx a lot and have a nice day.
I recently installed a new game, and the app never asked to allow tracking. It does not even show in the list of apps under privacy and security/tracking. Is there any way that I can allow it to track?
This week I managed to fix the 4013 error on an iPad stuck in recovery mode.
My iPad 9 had a broken screen but was working normally when all of a sudden it started boot looping. I put it in recovery mode to try and update it but it was bricked… soooo I started taking it apart to try and fix it myself. After a lot of trying and cleaning of some dusty components I realized that one of the ambient light sensors got damaged so I just removed it from the flex cable and made sure to clean the contact point thoroughly. Turns out that was the only thing wrong with the device and after that it updated normally.
I think apple might be screwing around somewhat with this.
I am lucky to be getting a little more than an hour of usage so I looked up how to check the capacity on an ipad online (https://www.tomsguide.com/how-to/how-to-check-your-ipads-battery-health) and appears I have 76-78% of capacity left.
MaximumFCC":8259, NominalChargeCapacity":6294
It looked like for $119 I could get the battery replaced and if lucky just get a replacement ipad so I made the hour plus drive to the closest Apple store in Brandon, Fl.
So the tech run the diagnostics that go to his ipad and he says I have 81% capacity and likely another year of usage and there was nothing he could do for me. I saw his display and that is what it said. I dont know where they are getting their numbers from but clearly my battery is compromised.
This ipad is considerred “legacy” or something like that and I suspect soon to be out of support so I feel like they just pushed me along until it becomes obsolete or something more serious happens to get more $$$ for a replacement.
I know that the Magic Keyboard can charge the iPad through the port on itself and passing the current to the iPad through the contacts on the back of the iPad.
Are there any other accessories that also use those contacts (I believe it's called the smart connector) for charging?
(The logitech combo touch uses the connectors for the keyboard, but there's no pass-through charging.)
My friend dropped my apple pencil and I noticed I couldn't squeeze or double tap on one half of the pencil (towards the base). Wondering if it was originally like that, and if not what I can do to fix it.
I’m going to be getting my mum an iPad for Christmas but I’m super torn on which one to get. I’m stuck between a 9th gen or 10th gen. She pretty much will only use it for looking at the news and a few mobile games apps. I think I can only afford 64gb not 256gb will this be enough for that ?
Sam's club had the 256 gig version for 60 bucks cheaper than anywhere else. I'll grab the magic keyboard later but this will do for now.
After iv updated to iOS 18 and connecting a SSD and viewing videos on my iPad Air 4th (2020), video files suddenly disappear or the drive loses connection.
Iv checked the cable connection, which is solid and updated to 18.1 but still have the same problem. Ipad also lags when trying to open 4K footage or scrubbing. Anyone else had this problem?
Peeps, I am a noob; I’ve never used any iPads (only iPhone n MacBook)
I want to buy an iPad; my use-cases are as below -
I am confused if I should stretch my budget a little bit and buy M2 pro (old) or should I buy new iPad Air (which is also m2) with Apple pencil pro
Why old pro - i read that screen will be better, speakers and refresh rate will be better
But can you folks help - how much difference does it create? Will it create any value for normal user?
What should I buy?
Is the magic trackpad worth it? Will it improve your experience using the iPad?
