How / where can I see how much memory I have used in the RAM on my old Apple TV? Would like to know how much free space I have on it?
Seen this deal on the uber eats app after seeing the home pod minis on sale too.
Hi, sorry for creating another one of this but I follow the solutions in other posts and even in the apple forum but it still doesn't seem to work. When I just press or press and hold the apple tv turns off but my tv stays on. This didn't use to happen with my fire stick.
I am not sure what else to try
We have an account with Paramount Plus thru a web sign up. We got an Apple TV and wanted to add the app. The tv is using my AppleiD. The account for paramount is in my partner’s name - we pay it from a checking account not thru app store subscription. I went to the app store on our apple tv and selected get and the only option is to create a new account. Paramount says I install app, then enter the code onto his phone but there is no code in the tv. All our apps we’ve added use this method - code, QR code etc. but not this one. Why is this not working?
My wife keeps asking for the same thing, and I think it’s a good idea.
We tend to watch some TV series and get interrupted or sidetracked by family events/work.
Then we go back to a show or series a month or two later
….look at each other
….and wonder why we stopped watching that particular show or what we thought of it.
It would be great if Apple TV allow us to make private notes on the shows maybe as part of the “ Continue Watching“ thread
Is it safe to place the elago magnetic sleeve on the back of my LG G3?
Damn I have to tell you how cool these thing are. The Pro 2s are for sale everywhere so I picked up a pair. The sound and especially the directional sound is amazing. Anyway still looking at a sonos bean with mininsub but for now this is perfect. Of course no one else can hear the TV...
Can somebody explain? On AppleTV Signed up for the free trial of Starz to watch The first Hunger Games movie and watched half the movie last night. Came back to finish the rest of the movie and now it says to get the free trial for AMC to watch it. Wtf? Did it switch to AMC overnight? Is it just a coincidence or a glitch I’m so confused.
Recently (past week), while watching the two above series, on two separate TV’s, through appleTV application, we’ve noticed the background occasionally becomes wavy/distorted, for a few seconds.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Title says it all. The remote seems to lag behind more than it did on my super old tv I just got rid of. Not the end of the world, just slightly annoying. Is that normal for anybody else? Any settings I can try? My Apple TV is wireless and in the same location it was for my 10 year old tv where I had no noticeable issues. Thanks!
I just got an Apple TV 4K, and I would like to be able to control volume via my phone and HomePod, but no matter what I do, HDMI-CEC simply won't work. Samsung has an entire setting dedicated to toggling CEC, yet it still won't work. I have tried three different HDMI cables, including one brand new one that supports it. I've factory reset both the ATV and TV. Tried different ports, practically everything you could imagine. Someone please save me
So I installed the apple tv app on my TV and was browsing around to see if what content it had and if it was worth accepting the deal my phone carrier was offering
I noticed it had a national geographic show I wanted to watch and had all the seasons. So I bought a subscription to then go watch the show and be given a message that add on on content can't be bought from this device to purchase or rent content I need a Apple Device.
I signed into my account in a browser but for some reason I can't find the show on apple tv.
So one where's the show why doesn't it show outside the app and two do I actually need a apple device to buy add on on content?
Just trying to seeing if it’s worth buying before dropping $150 on it. I probably won’t ever use the games and won’t ever use the air pod connectivity. What benefits do I get from using an Apple TV vs just my regular smart tv like I have been using ?
I was trying to look up a movie called better off dead, I saw the trailer on TikTok. Well after saying it to my Apple TV remote.
The bloody tv just shut off, it’s kind of funny 🤣 I wonder what else Siri does on command?!
OMG 😱 I just did it to my iPhone it’s a voice command to shut off all Apple devices
I purchased an Apple TV device via a Black Friday sale at Walmart. Received it today and where in the hell have I been? I've been in the Fire TV ecosystem for well over 8 years and WOW what a visual and audio difference between the two. I also have multiple Sonos speakers throughout my living room and tried the airplay and double WOW. To add I also have a Bose 5.2 system I've been using with my home theater which consist of the LG HU715 QW UST projector along with a 120 inch ALR screen and the Bose 5.2 setup I mentioned as the Sonos has been strictly dedicated for music listening and not for the home theater setup. Hmm now I need to rethink my entire home theater audio configuration, I'm really liking this Apple TV.
Can somebody please confirm that if you’re watching Apple TV with apple airpods and a call comes in on your iphone that you can take the call through the very same airpods already in your ears without having to remove them or manually go into settings/bluetooth to connect bluetooth to the iphone while the iphone is ringing and then manually reconnecting to the Apple TV again after the call? I’m trying to help an 85 year old man who doesn’t have the dexterity to manually control the connection in settings while the phone is ringing. He needs to not have to remove the airpods already in his ears.
The setup doesn’t allow the airpods to be connected to the apple tv and the airpods both simultaneously, if you connect one the other disconnects.
Grok and Chatgpt both say this is a primary feature of apple tv, yet Applecare support said its not supported. Wouldn’t it be crazy if you have to remove the airpods to take a call from your own iphone?
Hey Guys, I was just able to get an Apple TV 4K 128 for $65 from staples through uber eats app. Staples has it in the app for $90 and then there’s like an extra discount that’s like 50% off up to $40 for retail delivery which ends up making it to $65. Huge deal. Make sure it’s in stock at the location you’re trying to get it at or go to a diff location and deliver in front of store. I went like an hour away cause it was out of stock everywhere.
Given that streaming services are using around 25Mbps for content, and even high quality HDR rips are around 100Mbps, what is the point of having anything other than a basic HDMI cable with 10Gbps bandwidth, to connect ATV to a screen?
I'm so impressed with the apple tv 4k 128gb and sonos beam performance paired with my LG C4 in my bedroom, night and day difference from my old setup!
Had klipsch 600 hooked up before but it doesn't have atmos and quite frankly was overkill for a bedroom anyways. The 10" sub was just too much bass firing on wood floors.
From the last two days, my Apple TV has been scrolling down uncontrollably. I have tried resetting the device and resetting the remote. These two steps don’t seem to work. I don’t know what to do. How can I fix this issue?

I’ve seen some on Amazon some off brand stuff but figured Xbox are pretty solid. I don’t own an Xbox but just want for daughter and myself to play Apple Arcade games and it’s on sale at Target for $40 compared to $60
Wondering about getting an appletv 4k here in the Uk. Have heard rumours about a new gen out soon. Is it worth waiting? Anyone thinking it might not be that much of an upgrade. This will be used on a tv that is 8 years old
I have an AppleTV 4k. Ever since yesterday I cannot open the app? I have tried unloading the app and also reinstalling from the App Store. I also tried restarting my AppleTV 4k. I have never seen an error like this before where it refuses to open the app. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on what could be causing this problem?
Good morning,
I was reviewing and I haven’t seen this question asked for this specific tv or generation of Apple TV. Have folks found that RGB high or ycbcr 4:4:4 works better for this tv set? I have already tested and it seems 4K SDR both match range and frame and QMS on, and all that seems to work great (but open to any advice to on this).
Overall really thrilled with Apple TV 4K and this television, and also have the HomePod minis setup as stereo sound system with eARC which works and sounds great. Appreciate any tips anyone has for maximizing this setup.
Edit: So it seems like the answer is RGB high https://thinglabs.io/apple-tv-settings-ycbcr-vs-rgb-high
And then you can turn on match range, frame rate, and QMS (with corresponding settings on the S95D) to still access HDR for any media you play that carries it.
Then also do the “smart calibration” function on the S95D both in HDR mode and also when you are not in HDR mode, and then both will be perfectly calibrated. After doing this Apple TV let me know that it did not need to further calibrate the color on its ends.
This setup seems to look gorgeous across multiple Apple TV apps and most media which is still SDR, also seamlessly accesses HDR content when it’s available.
Anyone have issues turning off the Samsung 990D with the ATV remote? I have no issues with it turning on with the remote but when I go to turn everything off all except the soundbar go off. The soundbar goes into a mute mode…..
Hi everyone,
I'm a new Apple TV user. Yesterday, I bought a Samsung S90D 48" TV and wanted to redeem the advertised 3-month free trial of the Apple TV subscription. I created an account using the QR code displayed on the TV, but I only received a 7-day free trial instead of the 3 months.
Did I do something wrong? Does the 3-month trial activate after the first subscription payment, or is there another step I need to follow?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Does anyone know any way to remotely control an AppleTV? My grandma has a lot of trouble with technology, and explaining to her over the phone how to do things gets more and more difficult every year.
It would certainly help me out to just be able to remote in and fix it for her.
Any and all suggestions welcome and appreciated! Thanks :]
P.S. — I have added her AppleTV to my Home app, but I don’t see a way to do anything with it when I’m not on her WiFi network.
