I am using IOS 18 version on my iPad air. I tried to follow the steps on the website on inserting a web clip but I can not find a way to do it? All images and videos I look at don't have the new app layout. Any help would be appreciated ^^

This might be a weird problem. But basically I removed most of my notes, the ones i didn't need anymore, and they just came back. What's up with that? I deletd them twice but they just come back

I’ve been using notability for about 9 or so years so I can’t imagine I missed a feature but is there an easier way to draw chemical structures on the app? When I do the shape draw and hold, it’s nearly impossible to make it exactly even or resizing it, so usually I’m left drawing just the individual lines and it’s very time consuming. If there isn’t such a feature that exists, I would love to see one

Okay so I recently finished my exams and due to this I decided to delete all the notes and worksheets that I had done, before doing so I exported them in .note format and .pdf format into google drive. That all is perfect. But the thing is, I used to use notability in night mode so even documents with white pages appear dark. The problem is, I wrote on nearly all of the documents with either yellow or other bright colors, and after exporting, all the pages are now white, so the writing is relatively hard to read. How can I fix this?

Will we be getting a way to increase the opacity of highlighters? I have dark PowerPoints im trying to get to highlight but because the background on them is dark the highlighters wont show up. Even on dark mode the highlighters still arent that visable? Would love to see this but still be able to see the words underneath!

I'm trying to annotate a book, but the bg is black and the font is white because I just find it softer for my eyes. When I try to highlight it doesn't show on the black and just makes the words a different colour which ig makes sense but I didn't expect it

“This note doesn’t contain enough content to generate study materials” But its multiple pages of handwritten notes. What do I do?

I feel like I have a pretty basic note-taking need which is: when I’m annotating a pdf in Notability, I want to be able to quickly add comments or tags next to things based on subject for speedy search. The bookmark feature doesn’t allow me to tag what kind of bookmark it is.

The scenario for me right now is that I’m combing through a 900+ page document for research. I am annotating it to pull out different data in the document pertaining to several categories of my research. As I’m annotating, I want to be able to add easy flags (like you would with color-coded sticky note tabs in a book) to scan back and quickly pull up which pages have notes on which subjects. Is there a way to do this that I’m missing? A word search pulls up way too many pages. And bookmarks don’t differentiate what type of content I bookmarked.

I am having troubles launching the Learn function with the up-to-date version of Notability. Every time I try to use it, it reports "something went wrong, please try again later". Does anyone else have similar experience or know how to resolve this?

I am unexpectedly hearing a female robotic voice rather than the designated voice. In-app settings do not appear to offer a solution...

Now that most people have access to learn, I was wondering if there were any tips to get the most out of it.

Anyone experiment with using a lot of abbreviations? Messy Handwriting? How many pages is "too long" for it to be of much use? - PowerPoint summary? Audio? Un-revised notes? Revised notes? Little Detail vs a lot? Flow Charts?

Let me know your thoughts!

Since Notability allows you to backup .note files to multiple providers, but there are no viewers for it on any other platforms than mac and ipad, I decided to reverse engineer these files to view (but not edit). There has already been a lot of efforts on this front, most notably

but these are only partial solutions. I am building a python "app" to also (eventually) sync with the backup providers and display them. So now you do not need to worry if Notability dies at any point (it probably won't die before my project anyway), or if you don't have your apple device with you.

Anyway, this is the repo, https://codeberg.org/dhruva_sambrani/notability-viewer. Currently you can connect a webdav backend and view the handwriting in your files.

Help in development is more than welcome, and suggestions to improve too!

I use Notability to download textbooks so I can directly write on it. But on Mac it starts to not load properly where some parts of the textbook is just blank, other parts have other pages leaking through, and others have the content but just very blurry or shrunken!

Every time I click some tools, the sections that are not clear just changes too!

I am not sure how to upload images here to show you how I can't use it...

Any solutions? PS, everything is updated to the latest version.

I know that the Learn feature just came out but is anyone else experiencing that it’s not covering all of your pages in your notes? I was wondering if there is anyway to single out a couple of pages specifically in a note to have the ai go off of? I usually keep my lecture notes in one note and it seems to not pick up any of the newer notes into the learn and quiz feature. If possible I’d like to be able to control what pages are being used by the Ai that way I have better control over what concepts are plugged in. As of now the feature really only overs the information I have on the first couple of pages and some of my notes are 20-200 pages long depends on what they are

I was messing around one day and found out that you could add an infinite amount of pens to your toolbar, and so I spammed the button. But now I am unable to get back to the settings to get rid of them because it won't let me scroll. That also means I can't erase. Please help

I put my lecture slides (pdf form) into notability and notability learn gets stuck at 99 for a while then says there’s an error and to try again later. This is the cause for me and my girlfriend. Anyone know hot to fix this? Thank you!

Hi, while I do think that the new learn feature is awesome, I'm honestly not a fan of its button placement. Would it be possible to move the learn button to the toolbar or even hide it so that it's less intrusive to workflows in the app?

I loved my Halloween theme and am hoping for a similar dark style Christmas one soon! The winter one is so cute already but hard on the eyes.

In my note taking i always struggle between a size 2 and a size 3 pen, while i never used anything above a size 5 pen.

I feel like Notability should scale down its pen thickness to give us more options in the actual usable range (size 2-5) instead of giving us sizes that we will never actually use.

Got it in the right upper corner of my notes but when I click on it the app just gives me an overview of the features it includes. By the way I am from Italy so it might be cause this feature isn’t available for my country yet.

As the title says, I had everything syncing between my ipad and my computer (notability desktop app) like normal but then my ipad stopped syncing so I turned on and off icloud to kick start the resync and all the ipad documents were no longer present. I turned on my icloud again on my ipad and only a few of the many documents are back on my ipad. Everything remains normal on my computer, i just need all those documents to go back to my ipad like ASAP.

Why release an AI update when all we want is our notes to not crash and them to actually save our data? I have contacted support multiple times with no solution. It’s always “try updating to the latest version”. And I HAVE. I can’t even take notes on the app at all currently. So yay for me. I’m on a timeline and haven’t gotten a response today. Guess it’s to another app I go…

I was wondering if the Ai feature also creates notes based on the audio transcripts? Or is it just based notes you uploaded like for example a pdf PowerPoint slides?

Like let’s say i uploaded a powerpoint pdf and i also added an audio lecture transcript, would it create a summary based on both or just the pdf file?

I keep getting blank notes that say “impossible to open this note, try updating to latest version of app and restarting”.

I did both update and restart but nothing changed. The notes are the same across devices and they start piling up (notes that used to not give any problem a couple of days earlier now are unopenable)

Has anyone experienced the same? How did you fix it?
