Weird situation. Ebay gave the buyer a double refund for an inad claim ebay admitted was false.

Buyer falsely claimed inad. Contacted eBay. Ebay agreed that they lied and the pictures don't match at all. Case was closed in my favor. Buyer appealed and got an instant refund plus shipping 2 ways even though they never sent it back. Now a week later Buyer managed to file ANOTHER return request on the same item. Ebay automatically sided with them and took another full refund plus shipping out of my funds.

Buyer now has my item, the original cost, plus has literally stolen more of my money with Ebays help. How is that even possible?

I am down $400 so far for a $175 item.

I'm pissed. Support doesn't open for another hour. Wtaf

Buyer wants to keep item that has already been refunded

Sold item on Ebay on March 7th. Shipped on March 8th. Tracking had shown item was received by USPS, but no further tracking updates were issued. On March 25th, buyer asked for a refund as the item was clearly lost in the mail. I escalated issue to USPS, was told I could file an insurance claim at the 30 day mark. Buyer was refunded by me after asking daily for the money back. I did not want to upset the ebay gods and have them penalize my account. I file the insurance claim on April 8, and tracking magically appears on April 9th. I message the original buyer and ask them to mark the package as Return to Sender and do not open when they receive it. Item is delivered yesterday and now buyer wants to keep it. Any ideas how I should proceed? I am annoyed with USPS as this happened with 3 packages, all sent on March 8th. THanks so much for your insights! Ebay doesn't really seem to have much on this particular situation.

follow up to getting scammed hardcore on ebay

so..... I got fucked by ebay, just like I knew I would.

(Here's the first post, for the in-depth context) https://www.reddit.com/r/Flipping/comments/1boudto/just_got_scammed_hardcore_as_a_seller_on_ebay/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

But basically, some scammer sent me back an iPhone 13 Pro I sold to him on ebay, but sends me back a box filled with index cards. Ebay takes the money to refund him out of my account before it even reaches my house. The scammer purposefully sent it back to the wrong address - so theres an entire day in which they have the refund, and usps is following procedure by redirecting the package with the "incomplete address" back to the scammer. So I contact ebay to see what could be done, they open an "appeal", and told me to call usps, to have it redirected to me. So I get the package the next day, index cards. I get on the phone with one of their reps, and they have me fill out an affidavit and submit any evidence I had. The evidence was ironclad. pictures and documentation of how much a pack of index cards weigh (with a food scale, and google screenshots), with the receipt I picked up from usps with the actual package weight. The two matched to the exact ounce, it's obvious to anyone with a few brain cells that it's impossible that this package was an iPhone 13 Pro (double the weight). So a few hours after I submit all this to ebay, I get a message saying "sorry but we can't reverse the decision. it says it was delivered". At this point, I know ebay is playing dumb with me. I call them back and ask whats going on, apparently this affidavit was filed under the previous complaint that it hadn't reached my house (nonsense). Keep in mind, I was on the phone with the rep who sent me the affidavit docs for like 45 minutes before he actually sent them to me. Great, more classic ebay runarounds. They deny the appeal once it reached the right department because apparently this has happened to me before, and I won the case. You "can't win this kind of case twice in one year" is what the rep told me. so I ask to speak to a supervisor, I tell him I've filed a police, ic3, and uspis report. He says he'll put in a "manual adjustment" to my PayPal account, but it's subject to approval, and it'll take 7-10 days. so its now April 15. I request a call, the rep tells me "oh the guys been trying to reach you! he's called twice!". More bullshit. he tells me to wait till the next day for a call, it gets to be 10pm, no call. I request a call, the woman tells me the request was denied days ago because I "don't qualify for seller protections". I have 50 sales, 100% rating, but "blemishes on my record" because I've had 3 canceled orders within the past year.

she said there was nothing I could do. At this point, I'm absolutely done with ebay. this entire process has been a complete joke, it seems like eBay enjoys torturing their sellers. They create such a narrow window for sellers to be "above standard" and if for whatever reason you fall below that line, they jam you with a 6.25% increase in seller fees (making it 20% for most categories), and take away your seller rights. I've even tried to have my defects removed, explaining to them that the bidder asked me to cancel and that I was new to ebay, and I picked the wrong option for cancellation, but they obviously denied my requests, it's ebay.

so at this point I've been fucked so hard by eBay, i'm thinking about joining in a class action lawsuit or something, or hell, even creating one. If anyone has any experience with that, or has had this similar experience and has advice for me, that would be amazing. I know this experience is not unique to me, every other day on this sub I see some similar scam imparted on a seller, leaving them fucked. it seems like eBay actively helps their buyers scam people, it's good for business. The fact alone that they have such an extreme increase in sellers fees for "below average sellers" is extremely telling.

Help my shipping estimates were wrong, now the price is doubled (liquidation.com)

Hello reddit, I need some advice.

I won a bid for some speakers from liquidation.com, for about $420 just that with an extra shipping cost of $450. The shipping estimate was about $200 when I checked it originally.

I don't want to pay more in shipping than on the speakers. I live close to the ware house, could I arrange to pick it up? Could I not pay? I feel like I have been scammed. It doesn't cost $450 to move two speakers an hour away. It said on the auction that shipping was arranged by liquidation.com, I'm just looking for a way around it.

I have not paid yet, it just happened. I have two business days.

Please, anyone with experience I appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Why does eBay not allow return labels to be printed using a LABEL PRINTER.

Why is the only option to use a regular printer? I can't seem to format it to be printed correctly either.

Question about shill bidding

Question... I placed a max bid on an item in an online HiBid auction. It was something I really wanted so I've been watching it all day. Suddenly the winning bid jumped to the minimum bid above my max bid - without any increments in between. Like, normally if you place a max bid of say, $50, the winning bid still goes up in the bid increments and your bid just keeps winning until someone finally surpasses your max. But today it jumped from my bid which had been winning all day, instantly to $2.50 above my max, without any bids in between (and yes, we were getting close to auction time so I was refreshing and keeping a very close eye on it, so I'm sure of this).

So I upped my max bid (by a significant amount) and again kept refreshing to keep an eye on it, and again, it jumped instantly to one increment above my max bid, without any bids in between.

Am I right in thinking this could be shill bidding? How else would it be possible to know my max and place a bid one notch above it, without making any bids in between? I thought maybe they were just randomly making massive bid jumps, but each time I was able to outbid them by 1 increment - meaning, they hadn't made a large MAX bid jump - just "coincidentally" a jump always to 1 notch above my max.

Side note: I've been keeping an eye on this auction house for several months and I've noticed a lot of things that are sold, show up again for sale in a later auction a month or two later. I know it could be people not picking up their items, but it's A LOT of items and just feels... a bit off.

First time encountering this issue, need help!

A buyer messaged me about one of my current auctions on eBay (23h left), saying that he accidentally put his max bid too high, and if I can cancel the auction and relist the item. I’ve never encountered this situation before, so I’m unsure about how to proceed.

Do I cancel the auction and relist? Do I let it run for the final 23hrs? I have no idea if the bidding will increase near the end as it’s not a heavily watched item.

Is anyone still using FLYP?

I've been using Flyp for a while, close to one year, and it's worked alright for me overall, esp when it was free. The crosslisting tool as well as the basic sharing tool worked well enough for my needs.

Now that they've went to paid subscription since last month, the app has been quite buggy for me, constantly stopping sharing randomly, citing there was "an issue retrieving closet listings" (Poshmark).

I've contacted their customer service 3 times since last week, without any reply whatsoever. They've previously been replying swiftly.

They've also had that consignment category, which they seem to have just shut down completely without announcement.

Are they close to shutting down?

Clothing inventory management - need advice

Hi all,

Im about to get a big account with initial of about 4000 clothing items, some are multiple units and some are one-offs.

Variations of the item are colors, size, fit and such.

We can sell the items on eBay, Walmart, Amazon and such.

  1. What would be the best software you recommend that is best specifically for clothing?
  2. What warehouse inventory system is best to managed those items.

Thank you all for the help!

Sold $450 Stereo However Buyer Has History Of Opening False Returns

I posted this in the daily thread but wanted more opinions. I recently sold a $450 stereo and buyer paid almost immediately. I packaged it up today and purchased the label on Pirateship. I happened to look at their feedback on eBay today which is over 17k with all positives.

Upon closer inspection, I counted 15 reviews in the past month of sellers saying the buyer opened returns claiming items such as PlayStation's, Xbox's and a camera all didn't work. One reviewer also said they have three accounts: one under a male name, one under a female name and the one that purchased from me.

What can I do here as I don't want to send out such an expensive item to a scammer? Also, I'm concerned about relisting soon as they'll see the item from their other accounts. Should I just wait a month or two to relist and what's the recommendation towards canceling and refunding the buyer??

eBay Counterfeit Question

I had an item listed that I'm flipping and eBay decided it was counterfeit. I don't mind selling it elsewhere, but will this hurt my account? If so, can I do anything about it? It's a genuine item, I have the receipt and original packaging.

Storage units that allow working on furniture flips?

Does anyone know if there are storage units that allow you to work on furniture?

I live in a really small apartment and want to make extra money. I have an eye for beauty and have been fascinated with furniture flipping for a while now.

I feel like it will take time but I could learn how to furniture flip.

I just need space :/

I was hoping if anyone knows of storage units that would allow you to work onsite?

I appreciate any feedback or advice!! Thank you

Selling used books on Amazon

Hi all, I've seen many times that there are certain books that have a high sales rank and the used condition is selling for more than the new condition (buy box).

How is this possible? The keepa graph shows that the "used-like new" condition is selling for $56 while the new (buy box) condition is selling for $27.

Is it possible to buy new books from Amazon and sell it via Amazon FBA as "used-like new" at a higher price?

Thanks

Reselling Groups

I’m thinking about joining a reseller Facebook group. Specifically, the one lead by a pretty successful ebayer/flipper called Technsports. I’ve learned quite a bit from his free content, and Im thinking about investing into my knowledge base and joining a community may be worth it.

Have any of you had success with reseller communities online/courses?

Yes, I’m paying for information. Some of you may be adamantly opposed to that. That’s fine. For those of you that aren’t, what has worked for you?

Question for sellers using both Bonanza and eBay

A while ago one of my listings sold on Bonanza and was automatically ended on eBay. After that I cancelled the sync between the two sites. Today I sold on Bonanza one item from a listing with a quantity of two. It was immediately ended on eBay even though there is still one unsold. So how do I fully sever listing communication between the two platforms since turning off the sync feature didn't do the trick?

Why is keyword spamming allowed on Ebay? This destroys the ability to search for a specific item and should be grounds for an account ban.

Anyone ever beat a Vero claim?

Woke up to a Vero removal for a USPS cycling jersey that I bought as a kid in '90s. It was one of the first jerseys Lance Armstrong ever wore after joining the Olympic team. Feels insane that something I collected as a child I can't sell.

The company that had it removed was Corsearch who upon further research uses Artificial Intelligence to remove listings. Anyone had any luck/tips on how to reverse the claim.

Questions about shipping to the USA from the UK

Hi folks,

I'm in the UK and I've started trying to flip Sports Trading Cards that I find. The market for certain sports in the UK isn't as high as it is in the US for sports such as Basketball and Baseball, and the more niche cards that I pick up would be best suited to being sold to a much larger American market.

Because of this, I'm thinking that I'll need to ship certain cards over to the US, and having never done this before, I want to stop any potential hiccups along the way.

The questions I have are:
Do I just need to package it and provide a customs form?
Does the beneficiary get charged any tax or tariff?
If the package is just a tightly sealed padded envelope with the cards inside, will it be damaged in transit? And if so, would it be best to ship in a small box?
Lastly, is eBay the best place to find the American audience for sports cards, a bit of a niche question, but I just don't want to be charged upwards of 15% for selling through eBay

I can't think of any other questions but your help would be so much appreciated, thank you!

Weekly Haul Thread

What'd ya get? How'd ya get it? What do you plan to do with it?

I'd like to encourage people to revisit this thread occasionally for as long as it's still on the front page. Sort by New so that latecomers aren't left out. Obviously, if this is a few pages back, you're probably better just waiting for next week's thread. You'll see that I've also changed the title to Weekly instead of Weekend so people don't hesitate to post what they found on a Wednesday.

Further, if I see haul posts outside of this thread, I'm removing them. Feel free to report them if you see them.

Just had a buyer contact me about a "broken" item 7 months after purchase! Anyone else having an influx of people contacting you past the 30 day money back guarantee?

Just making this post out of curiosity since I just had 3 people contact me about "broken items" after the 30 day money back guarantee. I just made a post recently about one of my interactions with said buyer, which ended poorly, but now I just had 2 more people reach out, including one buyer over a $21 item 7 months after purchase!

Has anyone else had an influx of such buyers or is it just me?
