Anyone see the point in answering people’s questions when they want measurements for clothing? Every time I take the 5-10min to get an answer they never end up buying or getting back. If it’s a higher value (say $30+ or so) I’d be more understanding but it’s at the point I’m just ignoring them if it’s not cause it likely wouldn’t convert anyway. What’s everyone else’s thoughts?
Hey, I'm a beginner seller and I'm likely overthinking this but I wanted to ask this subreddit just incase. I have 2 laptops for sale as I'm a flipper, I buy used or broken laptops, fix them or upgrade them, and then re-sell them for a profit.
As of recently, I have this one guy bidding on all of my laptops and not paying, and just recently, he messaged me asking if I could do "combined shipping". This isn't a new account either, he's got roughly 200+ reviews on his account all of which are automated, like "great value, great payment, valued buyer".. etc.
I have replied saying I wouldn't do combined shipping as I'm not entirely sure how that would work and mostly because I'm a bit sketched about his question.
Do I receive funds immediately or after items are shipped and received by the buyer?
How does this work? I’m new to eBay stuff. Thanks for your help.
I've had to block buyers in the past but I've never experienced this one. I made an offer to all watchers on an item, and then someone responded with a ridiculous counteroffer so I responded by declining it. They continued to make counter offers, each just as ridiculous so I finally decided I would block them and be done with it. Now, they continue to make counter offers on the same item.
So, is this because they were only blocked after my initial offer to them? What would happen if they actually purchased the item?
Hello everyone!
So I am relatively new in terms of trying to cancel an order from a seller on eBay. The situation is I am trying to cancel an order of a cologne I ordered from a seller on eBay, though on my end it has created a tracking number. The seller has not shipped the item yet. Since the tracking number was created, I cannot cancel on my end. Only request return.
I contacted the seller to cancel it as to my knowledge, they themselves should have the option of cancelling the order. I just got a reply from the seller saying no worries, and asking me to request a return instead of them cancelling the order.
Is my knowledge wrong (in terms of the seller being able to cancel at this point)? Also as a side note, the seller does not accept returns.
Sorry if you saw the previous post, I realized the title was incorrect and had to repost.
I bought a jersey off this seller and was looking to return it since it didn't fit. I believe the seller's account was closed since I can't message them or load up their account or any of their listings. Yet ebay still let me put in a refund request and get my label mailed to me. Do I just send it back and hope for a refund or contact ebay?
UPDATE: Contacted eBay, they gave me a full refund and let me keep the item!
Help, please. I'm frustrated and have exhausted searching the help files.
I listed a bunch of items for Auction starting at the end of the month (auction with buy it now option). They are all under "scheduled" in my Selling area.
I changed my mind, and want to list them as "Buy it now" (with no auction). Since they haven't gone live, I can't figure out why it doesn't seem possible to do this.
I go to revise the item but Format: "Auction" is greyed out.
I spent hours listing these things from my home. How do I relist them as Buy it Now without having to go through all the work again?
Thanks.
I’ve been using eBay for nearly 20 years but the new postage settings have me confused. I set the recommended postage options when listing but the buyer has chosen Evri drop off at £5.46. They have only paid £2.94. Can I refuse their chosen option or have to take it on the chin? Aware it’s not a lot but it’s eating into the overall amount which is only £20 so every little counts!
Been browsing a fair bit of second hand tech lately and it's all this bllsht 'never feel unproductive again with this' blah blah. Useful information like the bare minimum detail of condition / what's included etc seems to be disappearing.
Obviously some people were useless at that anyway but seems to be getting worse. Ammaright?
I was trying to bid for an item earlier today, but whenever I tried to bid, my phone was severely acting up. App was crashing, keyboard was repeatedly appearing and disappearing, it was like I had no control over my phone, and could not make any bids at all. The person who won the bid essentially won an expensive item for an extremely cheap price (they also were essentially the only one who ended up bidding as well; there were only 2 bids total). Are there any bots out there that make it so that other people can’t bid by making their device act up? My phone immediately returned to normal after the bid was over
I see a lot of posts with problems that don't have to happen when sellers use available tools. I've been selling continuously on eBay since 1998, under both a personal and a business account. I utilize every tool and don't stick with any old school practices.
I urge everyone to stop and read all tools, such as Immediate Payment Required and Calculated Postage rules settings.
I'm also posting a photo of Buyer Management Settings. Understanding and using these can solve a multitude of problems before they even arise.
Back in the day we didn't have these tools or any protection whatsoever. I don't understand the sellers who stay stuck in the past and refuse to use them but whatever. Do what you want. I'm just saying - if you're on eBay to sell stuff and want to get paid - tools are there. They can't help you if you don't know about them.
Wishing everyone a very profitable 4th quarter 2024.
Ok so I want to order this item. It’s an adult item but I have parents who will ask where it’s from or what it is. So how do I have this item hidden from them or have it delivered to behind the house or hidden somewhere for me to get. I tried but of course haven’t made the purchase yet so do I have to do something in the sellers note or the second address or something or what. I need help. My parents will absolutely kill me if they knew about this.
And this item is limited so I want to get it before it’s out
Why cant I use my ebay balance to purchase auction winnings, its just greyed out even though nothing is pending and I do have enough
I think I have a little problem. I received an item from eBay that I had paid $4.43 shipping. It came postage due for $4.62. I paid the postage due. I’ve tried to contact the seller, but they won’t respond. Has this happened to anybody else? And what do I do next?
Should I bother doing this? I've heard and read many people have successfully shipped internationally without declaring lithium ion batteries.
So as a seller, sometimes I got buyers who won my auction then they just disappeared and never paid. But, while i am the one become the buyer and won the auction, i got automatically charged within one hour window and i can not cancel, unless i reach to seller to cancel. So, is there any way for me as seller to activate this option, so that buyer who wins my auction will be charged automatically?
Should I always give feedback to buyers? I always do it but now I'm thinking if I should give feedback less
I would like to ask whether other sellers have experienced an issue like mine. I recently noticed that eBay doesn't take into consideration the fact that I ship to other countries, where packages need to clear customs and go through additional processes... This has led to many buyers trying to take advantage of the situation by requesting refunds for packages that are still in transit. how can I best handle this dilemma?
Just received an offer on my laptop. 1550 . G14 2024 . Buyer is from Uzbekistan. Looks like he has good feedback. He uses a freight forwarding company in Delaware . I will be shipping signature required. I have it listed as no returns. Would there be any risk on my end ?
I have old slides I’m digitizing and printing hard copy photos to sell. Is it taboo to sell multiples (ie. Reprinting over and over) of the same photo? Do people expect to buy one-off photos? Trying to figure out how to go about this. Thanks
I'm fairly new to eBay and just received an offer for an item I'm selling. I mentioned in the comments about the item that I had three available. But listed the sale for one item only originally. Potential buyer made an offer for all three that I'm willing to accept. But how to go about this exchange since my original price offer for was for one item? Should I delete the original post and relist the items as quantity of 3 for the price they're offering? Thanks.
I recently purchased an item and it says it was delivered to a parcel locker in my town ( I don’t have a parcel locker). I tried to contact the seller to confirm he sent it to the right address but his account is no longer available. I have since requested a refund but I have to wait for a response from the seller. What would be my best course of action?
Okay, so! I’m selling an item on eBay that has a “buy now” option that is currently in auction. This is with an £8 fee for postage. It’s first class postage with high insurance on the item. However! I am open to offering cheaper postage as long as the buyer doesn’t mind waiting.
I got a message from someone asking about a cheaper postage. Which is fine! I’m open to it. However, whilst poking around their profile, I see that they are selling the exact same thing for £20 more than my “buy now” option.
Now, I may be new to eBay as a seller, but I know most people are looking to profit off of something. And the item in question is no different. However, am I right in feeling that the persons message is rather cheeky? Is this just something I should expect and let go? I’d appreciate any input from those who are a little more wise to the ways of eBay.
Thank you for reading!
Anyone on EU Ebay here? I have to type the manufacturer address manually each time I start a new item and I did not find any option to save the manufacturer. This means a ton of work for 500+- items.
I am about to write and call Ebay to add this option.
Hi everyone. I’m trying to sell my video-games but i’m not sure how to calculate the shipping.
I’m going to pack my games in a small box with bubble wrap and other protections, the weight will probably be 0-2 kilos.
I have seen some youtube videos of people creating their shipping label but they select the shipping method after the item sold?
When i create a listing i have a few shipping options to choose from, so how does that work?
Also, how can i price my shipping BEFORE i know where it’s being bought from?
I purchased a vehicle on ebay and upon receipt there were undisclosed engine and transmission problems. I filed a complaint with Ebay and their Vehicle Protection Plan (VPP) insurance. With proper documentation, I won and received the money to get the vehicle fixed. As a buyer, should I leave feedback or just let things be?
So I have a ridiculously large collection of games, figures, films and statues etc, so it's all my own personal collection and I'm selling it off as it's just too much stuff. Private UK seller.
I was listing about 20 games a day and became a bit eBay blind and made some mistakes, games listed for 10% of their worth and putting them on ad an auction and not a buy it now etc.
One game had the sells internationally on it and it was bought by a guy in the USA. Address on eBay is a UK address and the UK shipping price of 2nd class was applied, £1.55. However eBay has taken sales tax from both of us and applied selling fees (it's currently free for UK private sellers). The email I received gives me a USA address and says it's charged him £20.84 shipping fees which hasn't shown up on my payments,
I'v although the UK price and fees have.
I've messaged the guy and had no response.
Should I just cancel the sale due to the discrepancy? Never been in this situation before.
Also as a side rant I either charge the exact postage charge or less and accept the hit. I recently sold a large statue for £580, after taking an offer on it, and £20 quid shipping which actually cost nearer £50 so it was properly insured with next day delivery. Kept the buyer informed every step of the way what was happening and he hasn't even bothered with feedback 🙄 I really need to get rid of the items and go above and beyond but people still aren't satisfied 🤔
