Hey fellow Poshers,
I’m frustrated and feel like we need to take collective action. With the Canada Post strike happening, they are not accepting parcels, making it impossible for us to ship out our orders. Yet, Poshmark hasn’t updated their system to accommodate this situation. Their 10-day shipping requirement remains in place, meaning we’re at risk of being penalized for circumstances entirely out of our control.
We’re already facing the stress of delayed payments because we can’t ship, but what’s worse is that Poshmark continues to collect its cut from orders while sellers bear the brunt of buyer frustrations and potential penalties. They’re profiting, and we’re left in the lurch.
The only way to force Poshmark to address this is by putting our closets on vacation mode. By doing so, we collectively stop generating revenue for them until they make changes to their programming or policies to reflect the shipping limitations we’re dealing with.
Here’s why this matters:
Until Poshmark steps up and provides solutions—whether that’s pausing the 10-day shipping requirement or providing clearer communication to buyers—we need to stand together.
Put your closets on vacation mode, spread the word, and let’s push for change. 💪
What do you think? Are you experiencing the same frustrations? Let’s talk about it!
Hey everyone, I’m about to sell my first item on eBay, and I’ve decided to use Chit Chats for shipping because it seems like a more affordable option. The thing is, I’m not entirely sure how to set it up on eBay. There’s no option for Chit Chats in the shipping section, so I’m wondering—do I just choose something like Canada Post for domestic shipping and for U.S. there's only FedEx and UPS and Ive heard Chitchats USPS
Also, I’m not sure how to handle shipping costs. Should I charge a fixed fee or just include the shipping in the item price and offer free shipping? I want to keep it simple but still cover my costs.
Another thing I’ve heard is that the tracking number Chit Chats provides can change once it gets handed off to another courier like USPS or Canada Post. How do people deal with this? Do you manually update the tracking info on eBay, or is there a better way to handle it?
I’d really appreciate any advice or tips from people who’ve used Chit Chats before. Thanks so much!
Any shipping courier reco aside from Stallion Express that has no limit of 800 USD per day? Thank you

CUPW announces national strike – customers should expect service delays
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has announced it intends to begin a national strike on Friday, November 15 at 12:01 am ET.
[...]
Canada Post’s operations will shut down during a national strike, affecting millions of Canadians and businesses across the country.
To stay informed on strike activity, visit canadapost.ca/negotiations or sign up for email updates.
What to expect during a national strike
Your business should expect delays in the processing and delivery of mail and parcels. Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for items already in the postal network. And no new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.
All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume. However, a national strike of any length will impact service to Canadians well after the strike activity ends. Shutting down facilities across the country will affect our entire national network. Processing and delivery may take some time to fully return to normal.
[...]
We know you need certainty at this critical time of year and that delays can have a significant impact on your business. We are committed to providing you with timely updates and the details you need to make informed decisions.
We will post regular updates, including a list of locations affected by strike activity at canadapost.ca/negotiations.
Si vous utilisez Postes Canada, il est temps pour le plan B.
I got this e-mail last week, outlining their USPS Postage Compliance, and that starting November 25, 2024, they will only be accepting postage purchased from them as they will no longer be accepting USPS labels from PirateShip, eBay, etc. The thing I have asked other sellers I know and they have not gotten this particular email. A call to Stallion did not resolve much. I was told that only certain customers are receiving this message, with no clear reason as to exactly why only certain shippers. I can only assume it is because I very rarely purchase Stallion's postage, instead opting for PirateShip or eBay, as even after conversion and shipping fees, they are generally cheaper than Stallion.
If it is true that they will no longer be accepting 3rd-party labels, it is a sad day. I do not ship high volumes during the week, but it will certainly impact shipping costs.

I was looking at Seller Ledger but they advised its not for use in Canada yet. Does anyone know of something similar that can be used in Canada. Connects to eBay and your bank accounts etc. Thanks
I'm thinking of opening an eBay store. I have an account on eBay.ca. I can open a store on either .ca or .com. The .com site offers a cheaper store option that would suit me better than the Basic store on .ca. But does anyone know if having a store on .com attracts any income tax reporting in the US?
Calgary here. We only ship within Canada.
Typically, our smaller parcels are around 2 pounds. Tracking required.
I have read many complaints about the cost and quality related to Canadian shipping.
ChitChats, Stallion, DYK Post, Canada Post, etc.
What’s the latest opinion as to best shipping for small items within Canada?
I got the alert from Etsy asking for my SIN in order to continue selling on their platform, and was wondering how come eBay does not require that info? Could it be that eBay is just waiting to drop the hammer down soon? Just a little confusion after reading that Etsy is complying with the new Digital tax laws in Canada. You would think eBay would do this first, seeing as how much of a larger presence they have in the online selling space, but so far eBay has not asked for any new info.
I heard customs is cracking down on goods going through lettermail, though most everything I have heard is Canada to the US.
Is anyone using oversized lettermail to the UK with success?
So this is starting to annoy me.
We buy a lot from ibidstorage and we’ve done well using their service.
The issue we have is we are noticing an increased frequency of a mystery account we’ve never seen bidding up an auction.
We see similar names all the time and we know many of the frequent bidders but it seems almost every time we bid in a unit there is a new name we’ve never seen magically bidding it up to $1000-2000.
It seems odd as nobody usually starts in this business by bidding on risky units like this they usually look for cheaper units.
So either it’s the owner of the unit or something just doesn’t add up.
Weve complained about this before as it’s just not right.
I have a lot of inventory (womens clothing). I sell on Poshmark and Ebay. There are items I would like to sell in reseller bundles but it looks like not many of these bundles sell on these two platforms. Where are some of the places you guys source from? Looking to offload inventory, so anything helps!
Tried to look for some clothes at sport chek and winners and apparently “clearance” is max 20-30% off? Where is the 70% - 90% off I see people getting at these US stores like Ross? Or is that just a pipe dream in Canada ..
My apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, having a hard time finding the answer.
I just signed up for Stallion Express because it looks like they can off ~50% less to ship to the US than I can get through purchasing a UPS label directly from eBay.
I integrated the account with my eBay account but now I’m curious when selecting international shipping, which service do I actually select on eBay to ship through stallion? I’m not seeing it in the drop down menu.
Where I can sell some electronic appliances in or around Toronto?
These items are not computers or phones. They're items for gardening, senior care, home maintenance, etc etc.
Shipping is off the table due to the high postage costs, and I don't want to spend time haggling and messing around with every individual customer on some platform like FBM or kijiji.
I'm partial to suggestions outside the downtown area, such as Halton, Peel, or York, or even as far as Hamilton.
I am new to Amazon FBA/RA/OA. I have seen quite a few YouTube videos but thinking of taking a course which is about $1000usd. Is it worth it?
How much have you made online sales (eBay, Poshmark and etc) vs real life (Facebook market place, Carrot & etc)?
What would be the perfect gameplan for clothes flipping?
Relatively new to POSH mark. Had a few sales generated in our first 2 days and the following 4 days just nothing.
Have 96 items in our closet currently which are pretty much all high end names that we’ve got priced from $17 to as much as $49 for some jackets worth $200-300.
Offering discounted $9.99 shipping on everything.
Like do I need to go further and do the $6.99 shipping or are we just needing to be more patient!our hope here was POSH would kick In sales of clothing we get in storage lockers so we aren’t 100% relying on just garage sales to sell the clothing.
Facebook marketplace seems Like people only want to pay $10-20 max for Clothing that is either brand new or like new.
We’ve got brand new blue jeans that sell for $265 at just $39. Other POSH people are asking 60-80 for the same pair.
Michael Kors brand new leather wallets just $40-45 each.
We are also offering a 15% discount if people buy more than 1 item.
I live three hours from the nearest stallion location and as of May 15 with the Chit Chats closures will also be 3 hours from the nearest chit chats. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions or experience shipping from an area where it feels like the only option is Canada Post?
Announcement made today: Kitchener, London, Ottawa West closures.
This sucks!
Hello,
I need to sell my vintage Yohji Yamamoto pieces from the 90s (female line). I would like to have your advices on which platforms to sell. I'm thinking ebay and grailed but any other platforms are appreciated. Also, do you know any vintage stores would be interested in his designs? I just moved to Toronto and still in the exploring phase.
Thank you so much!
Say you take 3000k in scrap to a scrapper and they write you a cheque, do you have to pay tax on that?
I have china in an old and (seemingly popular) pattern.
It's definitely not a "set" there's only a few plates.
How do you sell fragile things on eBay? (I need packaging advice)
Also how do you calculate shipping? It seems like shipping is exorbitant here.
Ebay canada has extended the discount on tracked packets to the u.s. indefinitely.
We had a good storage locker recently that has yielded a mix of 10k to 24k gold jewelry.
Some we hate to sell for melt as the chains are broken in two.
However, 2 or rather 3 items in particular we don’t know do we sell them privately versus sell for scrap melt.
First appears to be an older wedding band made somewhere in Asia.
Marked with 18KT as as a PT900 and has a single solitaire diamond approx 0.20-0.25 CT.
We run our numbers and the melt value is close to $450 CAD.
Also two Swarovski earrings.
They are marked 24k gold but have a lot of gems that we think are diamonds. The melt weight on the pair is just under $500. I just have no experience selling jewelry online.
We have a melt buyer coming to town next wee and of course we love the idea of just being told everything we’ve collected.
I think total were at $1800 in melt. Just worried we lose a lot.
Hey guys, I'm not into flipping yet but Im just curious about the shipping cost as I've read that it's mostly the biggest issue in this sub. I happen to live near the American border (5 minutes away), does it mean I can ship from the US right away and get a better margin than doing it from Canada ?
I sent a vintage CCM jersey recently using Stallion Express, and apparently the item was seized at the border for suspected counterfeit. The buyer reached out to me and showed me the letter they got from US Homeland Security outlining the situation. He explained to me that he has been in contact with the person who was listed in the document, but the agent will not release the item, telling the buyer it is counterfeit and there is nothing she can do.
I've emailed the agent explaining the background of the item, but I haven't got word back yet.
Has anyone else had this kind of experience? This is a first for me, I've never had an issue sending over jersey's before.
Planning to bid for Apple watch ultra. Thank you in advance.
