Appen payouts issue

I have a question about payouts that should be by the 14th. So, on the 1st I went to check my hours because I was missing hours for the end of September for the project I was doing. They had sent me an email in October saying my payments from Sept 28- 30 would be on the payment in November. Well, none of the hours I have worked are even showing up for any that I have worked at the end of September or even October. I contacted them 2 times. Once on the 2nd and then again on the 5th. Has anyone else had this problem? I would hate to sign up for another project if I am having problems with the one I have now.

Brandclub purchase rewards locked?

I’ve had Brandclub for a month or so and mostly been doing surveys. Well today I synced my accounts and got some up& up “rewards” for my purchases, but it says I have to make a purchase to unlock those rewards. But those rewards are from a purchase! I’m super confused now. Can anyone explain how this works?

Amazon Shopper Panel - Stuck on Processing

Anyone else having this issue? Ever since they changed the in-app camera, I can no longer take photos of receipts. It just gets stuck on "Processing" indefinitely. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to no avail.

Recommendations: Side hustles that involve writing.

I graduated from college back in May with two degrees in Sociology and English. My dream was always to become an English tutor for high school/college students or to work in proofreading. I had started a proofreading gig on Fiverr, but I never got any clients. I got a contract to work with Varsity Tutors and did get some opportunities, but the requests were either outside my area of expertise or would get taken by someone else five seconds after being notified. To get some income that doesn’t require clients, I started doing surveys on different sites (particularly Ipsos Isay, YouGov, and HeyPiggy). This was nice for a while, but the surveys are starting to become more scarce (and good grief, it can be a grind).

I’m taking a gap year before starting grad school, and I really want to find something writing related, whether it’s proofreading, editing, or even writing a blog or poetry. If there are any suggestions that are easier to start off with than Fiverr, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheddar.tv poor payouts

I used to make a dollar or so a day running cheddar.tv on the side of my screen, but the payouts seem horrendous now as it keeps playing long videos that pay per video rather than per advert…

Is that just the playlists I’m selecting, or is the site absolute trash for everyone now?

It doesn’t seen worth the effort (or electricity) at this point.

Cash back app or receipt scanning eg Upside or Rakuten.

I know they are not the same things but I used to have upside for gas rebates and Rakuten for cash back on shopping? It’s been a while though. Is there anything better these days? My check card and PayPal have cash-back offers too.

DScout- What do you Consider "A lot of Scouts"?

I always hear everyone say that the one of the reasons that they are successful at being accepted for missions is because they only apply to ones that are accepting a lot of applicants. What do you Consider to be a lot?? 15? Because it Seems like majority of the missions are only looking for like 4-6 people so I was just curious what different people consider "A lot" to be.......

Anyone else having problems with Respondent?

I've been using the platform for a couple of years now and although projects seem to be few and far between I have always enjoyed participating. Last month I got invited to a project, completed it and never got paid. When I tried to message the the researcher...no response. I elevated the problem to Respondent's team and I get a response today saying that this person slipped through the cracks and shouldn't have been allowed to post a project on their site. So, no e-mail letting me know? So basically I wasted my time and because they missed her not meeting their requirements they won't pay for the study. Two days ago I also was invited to something else which was pretty high paying and self guided. I accepted the invite and got to work on the tasks. I was halfway through (a good 12 in depth questions) and went to finish today and it says the project is closed that they have enough responses. So another study that I wasted my time and didn't get paid a dollar for it. The answer to this problem was it was on a first come first served basis. The completion date isn't for another 5 days. They shouldn't have allowed me to answer half the questions before they said they no longer needed my participation. I just feel like the site is no longer trustworthy and not worth my time.

This week's grocery haul: I got paid $8 to take $43 worth of Ham, Sour Cream, Cool Whip, Yogurt, Veggies, and More!

###Here are the goodies.

Got my free Ibotta Thanksgiving dinner!

####Total: $43.11

####Coupons: $1.48

####Total Cash Back: $49.39

####Final Cost: -$7.76 - Money Maker

The complete breakdown is in the imgur gallery above. The stores are listed in the breakdown image. I don't include sites that take any receipt on my breakdown.

Note: Individual deals vary by user for most apps. If you don't have the deals right now, you can try checking back later.

####My Guides

  1. All rebate apps/sites I use and/or know about

  2. How I do my hauls

  3. Beginners guide to using rebate apps/sites - for those who don't know where to start

If you aren't interested in this kind of thing, please keep your comments to yourself. If you don't like what I buy, you can buy different products. If you don't like hunting for deals, you can do surveys, microtasks, games or whatever else you like instead. There is no need to discourage other users just because you aren't interested in the same things!

If you don't need feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, soaps, etc - consider donating them to your local women's shelter, church, or school! Don't need pet food? Give it to a shelter!

####Some Additional Deals

###Afterthoughts

A few days ago I got my Thanksgiving offers. At first it just showed a pack of rolls and veggies, which it said I had to complete my big bonus by the 23rd to unlock. But a day or two after that, it let me pick out my thanksgiving offers. I was pretty excited about that, because I don't like a lot of the offers normally like the turkey, cranberry sauce, gravy, etc. I could've gotten a bigger ham, but I don't like ham that much, so I just went with the one with the lowest total price I could find. I do still have a rebate for some free rolls, but our store was sold out.

I'm kind of happy our store was sold out of rolls tbh. (And the Tyson popcorn chicken.) It made me have to go grab some more offers, which turned out to be the Cocoa Classics, and they had the two flavors I've been wanting to try! I'm sipping on the French Vanilla right now, and it's pretty decent. It tastes almost like French Vanilla coffee but without the actual flavor of coffee. Not much of a cocoa flavor to it, which I expected since I've been drinking their Caramel ones.

It's a slight profit loss hitting the bonus, but I'm okay with that since I needed to make progress towards my bigger bonus. My Weekend Warrior bonus was crap ($1 / 10), and I expect the bonuses to get worse and worse throughout this month as they usually do.

Edit: Sneak Peak for next week's post. A lot of these are different than what I got this week. $1.67 money maker on a $79.47 order.

Also, pumpkins are marked down to $1 at Wal-Mart.

###Time Spent

I generally plan my hauls over the course of an hour or two while I eat breakfast/lunch and play with my pets.

I usually spend around 45-70 minutes in the store, which includes my regular grocery shopping. I could easily cut that down to 30-45 but I like to take my time.

###Food From Deals

The other week I made some taco meat. Deal items included taco seasoning and ham (I substituted half for the beef, couldn't taste the difference). I served it with pasta instead of the tortilla shells. Not as tasty, but I have way too much pasta that needs to get eaten. Although, there are some decent stacking deals on hard shells between Ibotta + Fetch right now.

I also made a lasagna. Cottage cheese, ham (subbed half the meat), noodles, pasta sauce, and most the seasonings were deal items. Beef wasn't, and the "cheese" wasn't. I used bettergoods plant-based "cheese". It's pretty decent. I wouldn't use it on a pizza, but in lasagna? I can barely taste the difference, and my stomach is much happier.

Here's some things I've made in the past: High Protein Tomato Crackers, Hot Sausage Cups, Peanut Butter Fudge & Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge, Chocolate Cherry Pie

Do you guys want me to continue showing things I've made using ingredients I got from rebate apps on these posts? Let me know in the comments, or you can vote on this poll if you want to remain anonymous.

###Mini FAQ

  • If you're new or confused - check out the guides near the top of the post. They go into detail about everything.

  • I'm from the USA and these posts are tailored as such, but this post of mine does list things from other countries that I know about.

  • My posts are tailored to being money makers to suit this subreddit. There are tons of great deals that aren't money makers but can still save you a lot of money.

  • A lot of what I get is given away to friends, family or is donated. I do this more as a hobby than anything.

  • I generally do not share my spreadsheet since the one shown in this post is not the one I actually use (it's put together with a script from my usual spreadsheet) and there are a ton of little things that will give you wrong values if you don't know about them and even then you have to be careful. It's super easy to make a spreadsheet with Google Sheets though.

Thanks beer money

Just came to say that I learned a lot from this sub. I started low key in January and for the last three months, I’ve made over $1000 per month on what I learned here. You need to be patient and persistent. Some days are crappy and some days are great. Work on multiple platforms and just stick with it. An extra $1000 (Cdn, lol) makes a big difference in my life!

Does anyone still write software reviews on sites like g2, Gartner?

I have seen a ton of posts in here talking about writing legitimate reviews on software they have used in their careers, however I haven't seen any posts talking about it in the present. I think all of my reviews have mostly gotten rejected, even though they were legitimate experiences.

Does anybody still use these to make money?

Who Paid You For/In October 2024? Here is My List

I smell turkey. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving

##Sept summary

My beermoney semi retirement continues as only 3 programs on the earnings report this month.Continuing to work it though. The prolific total is not just from this month but over several months. Figured it was time to cash it out now.
If you are reading this post and thinking beermoney isnt worth it.. please look in the comments. Im sunsetting my beermoney career, which has done great things for me, but others are still making lots of money with this. Ive just turned my attention to futures day trading, my youtube channel and the MightyOxTrading merch store.. these things are now a better source of income than beermoney

There are two general things I want to chat about though that dont have to do with earnings.

The first is Mturk. I get a lot of questions about Mturk each month. And I dont mind helping and answering questions so dont think im complaining. BUT.. I have written an Mturk 101 that might answer a lot of questions you might have. Its linked on the right hand side of this subreddit.

The second thing is people from countries other than the US contacting me. Again I certainly dont mind, but I really have no idea what works in other countries. Its just not something I have the time to keep up on. And I hate that there arent many options for people outside of the US/UK/CA. Its heartbreaking when someone says just $25 a month would make a big difference and I dont know where to refer them to. SO if you arent from the US.. I honestly dont know how to help you but wish I could

So thats my Oct. How did you do?

FOOTNOTES

  1. Does not count Ref earnings

FAQ

I live outside the USA. How can I earn?
Unfortunately most of the stuff I do is either USA only or US/UK/CA/AU. So its hard for me to advise whats available to people outside of those areas. If you live outside those 4 countries I really dont have advice for you. And I dont have much advice for even outside the USA.

How Much Time do you spend with this?
Its Hard to quantify. I am in front of a computer ALOT but its not always focused on making money. I have games I play and have scripts that watch for HITs ON Mturk so if something pops thats good I switch over. Plus Im often doing multiple things at once. That said.. there are people who make more then me with less time. Im actually very inefficient.

Why dont you get a real job?
Health issues.. and I can nap at 1PM.. and I dont have a boss looking over my shoulder... and I can work naked (I dont.. or do I....)

You must have a ton of referrals to make that much!
All the totals above represent only personal earnings. I seperate out ref earnings.

OMG! You must cheat somehow to make so much!
I do nothing outside the TOS of any of the programs. I consider this income to be a blessing and wouldnt do anything to jeopardize that. Plus cheating just kills programs and defrauds the companies that are allowing me to make this income.

Do you have to pay taxes on all of this
Yes on most of it. There are some exceptions but the majority of this income is taxable. Most of these companies dont issue 1099s but that doesnt mean you dont have to pay taxes. Please consult a tax professional if you have questions on how to handle taxes on "beermoney" income

Can I use SerpClix in a different location?

Hi! I have Serpclix extension installed on my laptop. I'm going to travel 6 hours away to go visit family and I plan to bring my laptop with me. I'm just wondering if I can use Serpclix while there?

I'm just worried since Serpclix tracks IP address, and if I use it at the other location, will I get in trouble for that since the IP address is different?

Does anyone have experience bringing their laptop and using Serpclix while in a different state/outside their usual home spot?

Thank you in advance!

I secret shop refusing to pay me ?

I did my first shop yesterday for i secret shop. I signed up for two daycare tours. Daycare 1 informed me that they aren’t allowing tours at this time. So I called and left a voicemail to tell I secret shop this shop couldn’t be performed. I did shop two including filling out the forms and taking photos. When I tried to submit shop two I was locked out of my account. When I emailed to ask why they says I “ violated” the rules by not completing a shop at daycare 1. I explained that daycare 1 didn’t allow tours and that I had the full report ready for daycare 2. I got a rude email saying my account will not be unlocked. What do I do? I was supposed to be paid 50 for this shop.

Applying for loans as a secret shopper

Thanks to this post I found secret shopper and I’ve been doing mystery shops a few times a week to get free meals and a little extra cash (this is very little money but if you can eat for free it helps a lot). A shop popped up today offering 40 for an hour of work and I jumped at the chance but it expects us to use our real pay stubs and ID to apply for a specific loan at a bank to evaluate their customer service. It warns this application will show up on your credit history. Has anyone done a shop like this before? Did it lower your credit score or cause any issues ? It’s a well paid shop, but I don’t want to cause credit problems for future me for 40 dollars. What do y’all think?

Attention 25Clicks members who are having issues PSA

There's a previous thread about not getting tasks from 25clicks and not being able to log into the site. Solution was to email them and it solved it. I emailed multiple email addresses the first time until i suddenly found the right email addy and no response but the next day i got a task and got all my back pay. Now i have not gotten any updates on pay and no new tasks in days so i emailed again and it seems they have it figured out. So this is just a PSA directly from 25clicks. This is probably the issue. I followed the steps and i am good now again. I will copy and paste the reply from them below. Hope this helps some people.

"Attention T-Mobile/Sprint/Assurant/Boost/Mint/Metro users.  Your account is being closed by the system as they are blocking our text messages.  Please do the following to keep your account open:

According to T-Mobile/Sprint/Assurant/Boost/Mint/Metro, this is a setting called "Shortcode Blacklist" which is intended to block text messages from short codes, toll-free numbers, and certain 10-digit phone numbers like the ones we use to send you tasks. In turn, our system closes your account when the text is returned as undeliverable.

To fix it, you have to call 611 directly from your T-Mobile/Sprint device - or if using another device, call 1-800-937-8997 – and request that the "Shortcode Blacklist" setting to be removed/turned off from your account. This will allow our text messages to be sent to you."

Are there any websites that lets you write whatever you want for money?

I love going down little rabbit holes and researching random topics. Is there any way I can make a little money by publishing my findings? It could be writing articles, doing ranking lists, whatever. I just wanted a little extra money to help with the holidays. I have a degree and experience in writing if that helps.

New OnMyWay update guts casback from restaurants & gas

The On my way app just released a new update and basically gutted all the restaurant & gas deals.

So now you could only cash out from resorts, air travel and a new game.

Note: This new game is called “crack the vault”, where you could possibly win $5 million, BUT it cost $10 OMY dollars and you can only play the game 3 times per day.

Cheddar.tv running random long videos

Anyone has cheddar.tv running. As of today it's running random long videos from different channels. Before I used to puck up a channel with short videos up to 1 minute like the Donino channel and it would run only videos from that channel. Now is switching random channels with videos up to 60 min. If you let it run and not pay attention you get 2.5 points in one hour! That's ridiculously!

Don't Do Intellizoom Live Interviews

I've been on for 3 weeks now. Gotten some card sort ones and some regular surveys.

But I have tried for 2 live ones that paid very well - one for $112 and one for like $120. Well both times the moderator canceled less than 24 hours before, I mean literally canceled 15 minutes before.

Now, they are owned by UserTesting. I am a member of them and made a very good amount of money. I got deactivated for missing 2 live appointments, which one was technical on their end and one was an emergency. But when they canceled on me I got paid at least at a little.

So basically UserTesting expects you to show up always, and if the mods don't then it's all okay.

I don't need to hear poor me it's just a rant. Hundreds of dollars fucking with people who may need it is a bad formula.

PSA: Make sure to check Amazon Shopper Panel every so often for surveys. You won't always get survey alerts.

Those who have the app are aware of ASP's changes. To match or surpass the auto-$2 it once offered, you'll need to check the app every so often to catch as many surveys as possible. Yes, sometimes you'll get an alert for new surveys. But that's not always the case. Yeah it's extra annoying steps, but this is where we're at unfortunately.
