CHA CHINNNG

Found a bunch of old Aldi receipts (the dumpster isn’t the most accessible, I still have to pay for my groceries sadly 😂) I’m just gonna keep saving my points because I’m new to the fetch app. Who else uses it? Is it worth it?

Does anyone wear a body camera for personal safety?

I got caught a few days ago, and it almost resulted in a fight with the local AH, who doesn't even own the dumpster, just saw that I was digging though one, and may have wanted in on the dumpster I was going though, I am not sure. I am considering getting a body camera just encase I do get jumped and have to defend myself. Does anyone else here do that?

How often do you go to the same places?

Self explanatory. My favorite place is a large strip mall with a few separate alcoves. It's easy to just go down the line of a few good places. Don't want to "wear out my welcome", etc.

Is it wrong to take things from a public E-Waste drive?

My city is doing a combined E-waste and toy drive. Obviously I wouldn't take any toys (I know those are meant for kids in need!) But I was wondering if it would be wrong to take E-waste? Would it be like, illegal? Gauche? As far as I'm aware the e-waste part is to beautify the city and avoid it going into other trash, so would it be the same as dumpster diving in that case?

I'm so happy

Do you ever just go a few days without finding much, then one day you get a helluva haul and it hooks you right back in? 😂 I'm so thrilled about the bread! 🥹

Scrap metal from two dumpster runs. 2 brass chandeliers in one dumpster and 25 lbs of insulated wire in another. To me this is a lot of cash. more than covers gas and the time spent digging/ sorting— and per hour this comes out to more than my actual wages.

Dumpster diving finds

I found all this at a neighborhood dumpster. None of them were flat or expired.

Can one be ticketed if they weren’t stopped?

Hello! Recently my friend stopped by a store’s garbage bin and found many things. They don’t do this often so didn’t think there could be consequences. They were asked to leave and so they did, but returned later at night when the store was closed and grabbed more things. They weren’t stopped but i’m pretty sure there are cameras that caught their license plate of the car. Can they still be fined? They got worried after they told me about it and I informed them entry on private property and dumpster diving on said properties is illegal. They are not in best financial state so now we are worried if they may be in trouble.

I want to dumpster dive but my town is already full of addicts…

I don’t know where would be good spots to check? Like areas they don’t go? Plus I’ve never dumpster dived before expect for some boxes for moving, what are some tips? When’s the best time to go? I’m kinda scared to do this too because of these people but I know it’ll help my family as we are struggling with my fil passing and Xmas coming up

A mini-clinic closed down and dumped much of what had been inside.

There isn't a lot but if you are interested the dumpster is next to the Walgreens at 2135 Bunker Lake Blvd NW in Andover MN. Looks like there may be a gas grill in there (???) is that standard clinic tools? I picked up some masks and gowns. Good luck.

Buckets of tears

My buddy text me this morning. She said she had a freezer go down yesterday. ALL the items were ruined. Lots of chicken completely thawed and hot. She did pass off to me a case of uncrustables. I was so sad to see that dumpster completely full of mostly Tyson frozen chicken breast. You win some and you lose some.

Pizza heaven

I picked up 6 large bags of frozen food. I picked out my kids favorite brand. Also stocked my freezervwith hot pockets and pizza rolls. There were 5 frozen dinners. I am completely full. I gave pizzas to two neighbors and another 50 were given to a friend who is GM at a fadtfood restaurant. Who lse has a huge freezer ? She handed out to her staff members. All young poor and grateful. Probably against policy somewhere but she is the big boss. Sharing is caring.
