Did anybody else feel like he stood out the most in S2 beside Jim Barney. The actor conveyed a lot of emotion and range for a small role. He also had one of the best lines in S2 IMO. “That sounds like a grand theory Agent Ford, like you’ve put a lot of thought into it in the 2 minutes we’ve been standing here”.
Why??? It wasn't like he had any issue with the rest of the BSU, the BSU were cleared of any wrongdoing (even though it was a cover up) so why did Gregg decide to go behind everyone's back and send the cassette?
Also, didn't that dumbass know that the contents of the cassette might get HIM into trouble as well?
i know i was just posting about my saltiness regarding the series not being renewed for season 3, and i restarted it from the top, ngl. i ordered the anne burgess novel, “a killer by design,” but i was wondering if y’all have any very good show and/or book recommendations similar to the show? detailed psychological true crime, serial killers, good dialogue, etc. lmk !!
(my bad if people ask this all the time)
edit: also, i really fucking hate that creepy ass tickle principal mf and how much everyone was defending him… it genuinely blew my mind. i’d like to think of myself as good at being patient about frustrating plots/characters, especially on rewatches, because i try to appreciate what each one brings to the plot/bigger picture. but that disgusting ass principal roger and people blaming holden… my god. i cannot cope lmao. it just makes absolutely no sense the way that people react. he is paying children to tickle them. sigh.
i know people have said this a million times but… i cannot believe there will not be a season 3 of this show. i just finished and it feels like there’s rocks in my stomach i swear lol, it does not feel complete at all. but it was so good. i just wanna know what we have to do to get another season. i know its apparently been confirmed that there won’t be, but i still really need to believe lolll. how did y’all deal with this heaviness?! i don’t think i’ve ever had any of my favorite shows leave off in the middle that way.
also: what was the point of debbie cheating…? that relationship plot truly went nowhere lmaooo.
update: ngl, i decided to start once more from the top for my current fall asleep show lmfaooo
Just started watching mind hunter and loving it. Love the comparisons to the serial killers. My question that I tried finding- are the murders in between the interviews based on real murders as well? Like the older women with the dogs being killed, and Beverly Jean? Are those stories real as well at any time?
That will be all,
Thankyou.
Was kempers hug genuine, or was he just screwing around with Holdens head? If Holden accepted Kemper's hug and hugged him back, would that have lead to Holden being attacked?
I mean, I would've just frozen to the spot if Kemper hugged me, I can definitely understand why Holden had a panic attack...
Rewatching Mindhunter (4th time). During the scene in episode 2 where Bill and Wendy are discussing Holden's panic disorder in the bar, it dawned on me that there's no way that his episode had gone under the radar like that.
I would assume Ford flashed his badge and signed in to see Kemper. And following his panic attack, the hospital would've reached out to the FBI. Unless he presented some other form of identification, word would have reached Gunn and that would be the end of his investment in golden boy Ford.

So I think I missed something if anybody can clear it up was Brian involved with Daniel‘s death the whole cross on in the garage thing because I didn’t see anything I missed it but nothing pointed out that he was there. I often fall asleep because I stay up too late.
Is it official that this show is not coming back for season 3? If so, thats extremely frustrating. Netflix is genuinely stupid if they don’t ever bring this show back. This is such a fun and smart show.
Why was he such an asshole? The more I watch the more backwards his decision making is and, by the end of his tenure, he’s actively impeding investigation and innovation.
Is it because period piece sets are more expensive as opposed to CGI (e.g. renting vintage cars and redecorating buildings)?
I am so engrossed in this book that I plan to binge through the genre.
I asked my Bing AI for a list of the books by profiling experts.
The book list references many specialists who are in the Mindhunter book. I’m glad you found the reading list helpful! However, I’m unable to directly save or send emails. But you can easily save this list by copying the text and pasting it into a document or an email to yourself. Here’s the list again for your convenience:
“Sexual Homicide: Patterns and Motives” by John E. Douglas, Ann W. Burgess, and Robert K. Ressler “The Anatomy of Motive: The FBI’s Legendary Mindhunter Explores the Key to Understanding and Catching Violent Criminals” by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker “The Cases That Haunt Us” by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker “Journey Into Darkness” by John E. I'm rewatching the show now, this is my third time and I've always been intrigued with Nancy and Bill's relationship and how they were parenting Brian.
There were some episodes where she would look at Bill a certain way to tell him to stop or do something based on what was happening at the time. Sometimes she'd silently tell him off, like that time they hosted a barbeque. She always seemed so irritated or frustrated with Bill's job. I got irked by that. To me, it seems that she feels as if Bill's job affected Brian somehow and that's how he ended up being part of a crime. Like she's grasping at straws to avoid being in denial about how everything is going.
I feel like she's trying her best to work on things to have the life she wanted but in the end, she chose to leave with Brian to escape the reality of her situation (which I think makes it worse for her because they're still being observed and stuff for Brian). I felt really bad for Bill and I feel bad that we're never gonna see what happened with that after the 2nd (and last) season.
I am so excited about to start this book!
how come a person who can't admit about her sexuality in front of her colleagues dumps kay because she behaves differently in front of her husband and son, isn't that pure hypocrisy?
I recently just finished rewatching Mindhunter and every time I do finish season 2, I get mildly depressed that there isn’t more. Not only was it an absolutely, insanely, amazing show; but there’s nothing else that quite scratches that itch besides Zodiac. I really cannot believe just how beautiful a show or film can be, especially a TV show, and it gets cancelled or put on hiatus. It’s a lot more common now with streaming viewership, that if something doesn’t start some form of viral fad that it just ceases to exist. But I really do hope that there is some streaming service in the future that offers to have shows like Mindhunter run their course. I cannot believe the level of craftsmanship of a show like Mindhunter just sits there with only 2 seasons. A show that lets the viewer digest and feel the weight of the dialogues, that allows you to sit with a scene for 10 minutes and completely soak up the gravity of the situation unfolding. I really hope we get a A24 (as an example) for TV equivalent soon, something to give a home to shows like Mindhunter for people that love Mindhunter.
I’m a huge tape recorder fan. I have several at home and I think the intro is one of the best ever! I was a bit sad when Holden went for the cassette tape recorder though haha
i love how brilliant this whole plot line is! almost as if the kitten that went missing could have potentially been killed by a disturbed person/serial killer. it’s this tiny things that made this show awesome! i really hate that they didn’t get to interview “bundy of the west coast” and dahmer!
please bring back one more season 🥲
