I mean this literally. I am looking for areas/streets with the most amount of litter you've seen. I am planning to go litter picking with a friend and I am looking for the most neglected spots where I can make the biggest impact. Bonus points if its in a greenspace or park.

The leasing office needs to be more capable of functioning well. It is sad to report that they are incompetent. I attempted to apply for an apartment the day I toured with rental agent Visakha. When I reached out for assistance, a different agent, Ricardo, said what was available to me had been changed to affordable housing. I applied for a different unit. When I emailed for an update, they said they were changing their software and couldn't run my credit—I have an impeccable score. I waited several weeks for an update; Visakha exchanged several confusing emails. Somehow, I didn't get the apartment. I requested the $175 deposit back. They would not return the money due to a 72-hour non-return policy never explained to me. I can't imagine the horrors I would've experienced if they were competent in the leasing office and I had gotten the apartment.

Was driving home and saw that someone had been hit by a car at Old Georgetown Road and Auburn Avenue (at Lilit Cafe). He was lying in the road while Rescue Squad and others assisted. Wondering if there is an update on what happened?

So earlier today I was walking a friend's dog as a favor for them when a yellow Community Happy Dogs branded car pulled up beside me. The driver got out, walked up to me, and without even saying hello first he immediately said to me, "You know our walkers make six figure!"

And I just responded, "Ok?"

"They're professionally trained and walk 6 or 7 dogs at a time!"

"Ok...?" I said and just kept walking my friend's dog.

"Just something to think about!"

I didn't really know what to say in the moment because it felt like he came out of nowhere and caught me off guard. The thing is, I had been kinda thinking about doing some more dog walks for side money, but I was immediately skeptical being told that this company was paying their walker's six figures. Even for a wealthy area like Bethesda. After Googling the company I saw an article with a photo of the company owner and it was the same guy who approached me, or at least looked very similar. I get the feeling maybe he had seem me walk my friend's dog in the area before and decided to try and recruit me. I couldn't find that much info on the company online, like a Glassdoor page, so that's why I'm asking here.

Again, I can't really imagine a dog walker getting paid six figures unless they're self-employed and/or doing a ton of walks everyday. And the way the guy was pitching it to me reminded me of pitches I've heard for sales jobs or companies with high turnover.

For Christmas she's asked for an experience-type gift (e.g. cooking class, painting class) which doesn't involve public speaking and takes place on a weekend. This experience would be done solo as I live out of state, so nothing for couples, thanks!

Not sure if anyone has had a similar experience, but I’m getting concerned about the exit to the Trader Joe’s/8001 Woodmont parking garage on Woodmont Ave. I have almost gotten hit by cars exiting without checking for pedestrians multiple times now. I was wondering who to reach out to about installing a stop sign at the exit. Is that Montgomery County’s jurisdiction, or the building’s? Would love some insight into this, thanks!

Does anyone have a general sense on the cost to pack up and move a two bedroom two bathroom apartment from across town to one apartment complex to another?

I'm sooo frustrated. I'm averaging at least one package a month that Amazon or USPS marks as delivered and isn't at my door. With Amazon it'll show a photo of someone else's door, sometimes a door on my street (which I know because I have to go door to door looking for packages frequently) and sometimes one I have never seen before. Sometimes I'll come home and the Amazon drivers dumped a pile of packages from different addresses in my apartments lobby, and I'll have to go find their homes. Luckily MOST of the time my neighbors make an effort to return the packages, but sometimes I have to order a replacement from Amazon and recently not even the replacement made it to me. I'm obviously going to have to set up a PO box or something, but I just want to know that I'm not alone here because this is wild.

I was recently "let go" from my job at RestoreFast in Bethesda, MD.

I’ve been struggling with this for a while and finally decided to share my story. I’m feeling a mix of emotions—anger, shame, confusion, and a desperate need to feel heard.

A man at my workplace—someone I once respected—turned out to be nothing but a predator. He started off with inappropriate comments, brushing them off as "jokes." At first, I tried to laugh it off, thinking I was overreacting or misinterpreting his words. But things escalated. He became more aggressive, making unwanted physical advances and invading my personal space despite my clear discomfort.

When I stood up for myself, he acted like I was the problem. He’d roll his eyes, say I couldn’t take a joke, and even implied that I was being “too sensitive.” The worst part? I finally worked up the courage to do something about this and went straight to the owner who literally chuckled at me and then told me to "calm down" and asked if it "really went down that way". A week later I got an email telling me that I have been let go.

I’ve started questioning everything—was it my fault? Did I invite this somehow? I know deep down it isn’t, but when someone repeatedly violates your boundaries, it messes with your head, and you should do something about it.

To anyone else out there dealing with this: you’re not alone. I’m posting this because I want to take back some of the control he tried to strip from me. Sharing my story is one small step toward reclaiming my power.

If anyone has advice on how to handle this—especially navigating HR or legal systems—I would deeply appreciate it. Or, if you just have kind words, I could really use them right now.

Oh, Bethesda, Maryland—a city so perfectly manicured it’s like Pottery Barn threw up and decided to run for office. It's a place where every corner screams, "We’re better than D.C., but without the grit or personality to prove it." The city motto might as well be, "Parking garages: the true monuments of our time."

Bethesda is where chain restaurants go to pretend they’re fancy. Sure, there are plenty of Michelin-star wannabes, but good luck enjoying your $20 avocado toast with a side of insufferable trust fund babies discussing their "creative" cookie cutter remodel that looks more like a prison than a home. And let's not forget, the traffic is so bad it feels like the real-life purgatory, stuck forever on Wisconsin Avenue.

Even the kids have their own vibe—think of them as the Ivy League starter pack, clutching their SAT prep books like they're holy relics, because in Bethesda, your GPA is a family heirloom. It’s the kind of place where you can smell the intergenerational wealth wafting through the air, mixing with the faint scent of overpriced latte art.

But hey, at least Bethesda Row has nice string lights.

While the units are new and beautiful aesthetically - it’s certainly not worth the money in terms of quality. The reasons are:

Although it’s touted as being “concrete constructed”… the building is poorly constructed and you can hear your upstairs neighbors, all the time. Even just walking, it’s like they have lead feet! I almost put in a noise complaint, but then I realized there is nothing my neighbors can do if the building is crappy, including the floor plan layouts (they’re so oddly shaped and it makes it hard to place furniture).🪑

The Hello Package system is horrible! Everything is a disorganized mess, and so difficult to find your packages. Packages are rarely in the correct “zone”, you often need to look through almost every package in the room to find yours.

The leasing consultant is friendly, but incredibly unresponsive. Especially after you’ve moved in. I have to go to her bosses to get a simple response, which is totally not okay.

I know this is totally first world problems, but I’m wondering if anyone has had similar experiences. I don’t mind paying for quality/luxary, but this building isn’t it. Are there any other quality buildings around?
