I’m 17 ftm I haven’t socially transitioned properly yet but I’ve known for about 6-7 years now, I’m looking to get testosterone and start my medical transition in around June/July of 2025 ,does anybody have any clinics they would recommend that aren’t too much hassle? I’m aware there is lots of fustration to come with this but I’m at my witts end I feel like I’m running out of time , I would really like to know about some good reliable clinics for the Republic of Ireland. (Dublin)
Hi all, looking for some assistance. I've recently moved over to Ireland from Scotland and looking to continue my transition, mtf. Can anyone recommend a friendly GP in the Dundrum area of Dublin.
Many thanks in advance.
So I'd posted recently: https://www.reddit.com/r/TransIreland/s/RYgMxbGPfz
TL;DR, girlfriend is fleeing a pretty abusive situation. Tried to get furniture, charity shops are picked clean, a lot of places don't deliver to NI and while I'd ordered something off Wayfair, it was presumed lost by Evri.
Well, as luck would have it, the parcel turned up. But Wayfair were a bit dishonest. Item was meant to come with tools to help with assembly. It didn't. And it's probably due the neurological conditions I alluded to in my last post, but I can't wrap my head around the instructions at all.
There's sadly no way I'm putting this thing together on my own. I need someone's help but there's sadly nobody around I'm aware of who can.
I'm willing to pay if you're needing to travel as well as something for the assistance itself. Hell, I'll even buy you dinner. I'm desperate. Please, please get in touch via PMs if you're in the NI area or are willing to travel here.
Jello. I wanna move to Ireland when I turn 18, Trump is gonna get this country nuked and I don’t wanna be here when it happens. But I don’t really know much about Irish cities, I wanna know what are the best cities to live in as a trans guy, and cities I should avoid. I’m considering Malahide but idk.
(Sorry for bad grammar I’m dyslexic)
Okay I have some questions, early 20s transmasc on injections. I’m self medicating. I don’t have a GP to help me with this… Please be nice to me as I’m actually really stupid when it comes to numbers/volume etc, I literally can’t visualise anything of that sort in my head at all.
I don’t want to be microdosing. I’m really over it. Thanks for your help. 🙏🙏
Is it okay to ask this subreddit if anyone is interested in being roommates? I wanted to make sure in case I violate any rules 🤥🤥
What are your thoughts on the election in general peeps? What would be the best coalition for trans issues? Is it hoping too much that we get a decent health minister in the next gov?
Ciarán Ahern is a new TD who tweeted in support of trans rights before. Does anyone know any other allies/ potential allies in the new batch?
Mick Barry didn't make it back in this time, he had raised trans issues on the Dáil floor before.
On the negative side the growth in support for Aontu was small but they are vehemently transphobic so that's not good.
Hey all, finally getting round to doing my GRC. Just have one or two questions about it.
Where do I put in the updated name? I presume it's in Part 1 Point 5 and 6?
Is it possible to choose a title that isn't Mr/Mrs/Ms?
Related to the above, are the only genders they recognise male and female? Is there an option for non-binary?
Where do I go to have my name officially changed then on my birth cert once this is done?
Once my birth cert is updated and I have proof of the name change, will this suffice for getting bank account, drivers license, passport etc changed too?
Thanks!
Heya, I’m just asking this as someone who’s absolutely petrified of needles and injections. 😅 so I know that blood tests are a big part of starting hormones and the testosterone blocker is also an injection, which I’m currently working through getting over. But I just found out that the blocker might have to be administered in the backside 😅 is that the case or can it be done in the arm as well? I have no clue
And if anyone has any encouraging words for my needle phobia, that’d be nice too ☺️
Hi!
Does anyone know how much I would expect to pay for estrogen gel, patches and pills, or even just which one would be cheapest? I'm considering which to go with and not sure, so I think it'll probably come down to cost.
Thanks!
Hi folks, was just wondering what the average monthly price for testosterone was if anyone could help me? It doesn't matter whether it's injection or gel, just curious as I'm looking into it. Was also wondering if any healthcare insurance/benefits/medical card related stuff would cover any of the costs? Thanks again :)
hey, so I was recently seen by my GP and she was telling me about this other private hormone place called genderplus.
I was just looking on their website and I cannot navigate it for the life of me, and I clicked onto their resources part and it's locked by a password???
if anyone could help me on this and tell me if they've gone through genderplus for HRT, that would be great!
I won't go into too much detail but due to abusive living circumstances, my partner will be moving in with me soon. I'm trying to get her storage space to make the move more comfortable and to prevent either of us from having to throw things out.
So I've been trying to get a decently sized chest of drawers that doesn't cost too much and somehow, this task has proven incredibly difficult. As I live in NI, some companies don't deliver here anymore. Debhamans is one example but there's others.
I tried charity shops but the ones in my area have been picked clean because of the holidays. IKEA charges an additional £50 for delivery. I tried Wayfair but they're using Evri for delivery now so the item was lost as Evri are the absolute worst.
I'm also disabled, neurologically speaking so although Argos is another option none of their stuff is easy assembly. Requires a full toolbox and two people. No way I'd be able to put that together without injury. They don't offer a service like IKEA where someone assembles it for you. Same story with Amazon furniture as well.
Partner can't help me put stuff together either.
What I need is either easy assembly or already pre-assembled, given my situation, honestly. Anything else is just begging for trouble.
Due to my disability, I also can't drive, which has unfortunately ruled out buy and sell pages. I would be iffy on the idea of going to a stranger's home as is given how much violence I face in NI anyway.
I've already spent a week on something that sounded really simple, and I have nobody else to ask about this. What can I even do here?
Hello folks. I just wanted to share my experience with genderPlus as it's been a very pleasant one. The psychologist Dr. Kelly was very nice, respectful, and understanding. Then I saw the endocrinologist (Tomas Ahern), and he was also very nice, explained everything to me, and answered all my questions. I really couldn't be any happier with their service. 🥰
Feel free to ask anything 😁
As the title says, I'm a transwoman currently living in America who's been on HRT for a little over 2 years, and I'm planning on going to Ireland (possibly just for a year or so, more likely to eventually gain citizenship and live there).
I've done a lot of research on Ireland in relation to being transgender, but there's a few things I'm still trying to figure out/want more confirmation on if anyone would be willing to help:
If anyone knows of GPs, clinics, or whoever/whatever else that I could talk to about continuing my treatment in Ireland that would be greatly appreciated. Alternatively if anyone has information on how to go about doing DIY in Ireland that would also be good.
From what I can tell, trans people in ireland aren't as much of a political target as they are in a lot of other countries right now, and most of the political issues have to do with medical care and otherwise it's pretty safe, is this correct or should I be more concerned?
Are there any support-groups or communites in Ireland for queer folks? I'm wanting to make sure I'm able to find some community once I get there sooner rather than later, so if anyone has reccomendations that'd be great!
I think that's everything, I know y'all have probably been getting a lot of posts like this recently so apologies if this post is a bit redundant, but I've been struggling a lot with trying to find a way to keep recieving HRT in Ireland and I figured this would be a good place to ask.
I'm 14, both my parents would consent to it
i’m moving to ireland from the US next year. i’ve been on HRT for 2.5 years & need a way to continue my care after moving without a waiting time in between. is this possible? i don’t care how much it costs & i am open to flying elsewhere in the EU if needed

Hello!
I'm a 16 year old FTM person, and just recently got an appointment with GenderPlus. I'm really excited for it, but also worried.
My main concern is that I'm not socially transitioned. While I'm out to my closest friends and my immediate family, I'm not out in school and only go by my preferred name online and with my best friend. Will I still be taken seriously during the assessment, even though I currently present as female?
I'd also like to know general tips for the assessment, if there are any to note. Thank you.
ETA: My doctor is Fabiola Neto.
Basically the title. Im 15 and im transgender with parents who will NOT pay for my transition!!! Legally ik i can without permission im just wondering how, it says i can get evaluated by a mental health professional, do it legally or get it medically evaluated but how? Like where do i go for these processes? I’ll probably use gender gp bc im not waiting like years to transition no way!!! So like how?
I had a dream the other night and I can't stop thinking about it. In the dream I had run away from home and a group of people took me in. They weren't sure 'what' I was and they assumed I was a guy, and referred to me with he/him and sometimes they/them. I'm afab and mainly present as a woman, but I identify as nb (they/them/any). This dream has me questioning so much! It felt so good to be thought of by others as a man. I woke up feeling elated and it won't leave my head. I went by a different name in the dream, and I really felt like it fit but since waking up I can't remember it 🙃. Can't seem to shake the feeling that the dream was trying to tell me something ❤️
Just got my first prescription from Imago. They prescribed me the 50mg cypro which seems to be difficult to get dispersed. I’ve only tried two pharmacies so far but I guess I’ll be spending as long as it takes tomorrow going between pharmacies until I either get it or give up.
I’m in dublin city centre and I’ve tried hickeys on O’Connell and Chemists Warehouse on henry street
Are there any pharmacies that worked for others or any other tips anyone has? If I can’t get it tomorrow then I’ll have to ask Imago for a new prescription which is pretty defeating 😞
I just went down to my local Whelan's pharmacy to get my first sustanon presciption filled (had been on testogel 9mo before) and I just get a callback telling me its 150 euro for 4 vials? For 4 vials??? That can't be right. They have the paper prescription so I'm not so sure how likely it is that ill be able to get it filled somewhere else, but that is madness. I'm applying for DPS right now because I've needed to anyways, but does anyone 100% know if DPS cover Sustanon too? just to be safe
(Prescribed by GGP)
Does anyone have recommendations for singing teachers for trans people? Preferably in person in dublin but I’m willing to do online if I have to. I’ve always had a good voice but since testosterone I’ve lost my confidence and want to train my singing voice as it’s dropping, but I’ve already been turned away or had teachers act strangely after explaining my voice was dropping from hormones, especially as I’m GNC and don’t pass and I don’t want to deal with it anymore. Searching online just gives speech vocal training for masculinising or feminising etc which I’m not interested in. It feels shitty to lose a big hobby and part of my life while transitioning just cause some teachers don’t want to make the effort.
Hey guys, I'm looking to set up a group chat with anyone who's trans from Dublin because I really want more trans friends and I'm bad at approaching people irl. I'm 18 (ftm) so preferably around that age! If you're interested, just drop me a message and I can give you my discord.
Just wondering if anyone wants to share who they’re gonna vote for and why? I’m not hugely into politics but as a trans guy I definitely want to vote for someone who is in our corner. I’m not sure of the difference between social democrats, PBP, and some of the other smaller ones
