Spotted this in Harumi, Chuo Ku the other night. Has anyone here actually used this? Can it do a door delivery in an apartment bldg? If yes, then how does this thing get past the security entrance doors and into elevators etc?🤔
Hi guys! I'm looking for a store that sells second hand speakers like Bang and Olufsen Beosound 1, 2, etc. Would anyone here know if such a store exists? Thank you
Hello all, Tmi looking for recs from other women . Just moved here and I am looking for a clinic to perform a labiaplasty. I'm hoping to find one that advertises English speaking as I am still very entry level at speaking Japanese and since this is a very private procedure I wouldn't want a translator involved. Would also be looking to have a chin/ face lift or later hair removal so any experience you have with such would be appreciate thank you all!
As the title says, there was a man with a sign and a speaker outside of Akihabara Station a few days ago - I forgot to get a picture.
He had a really old looking rough collie with him and seemed like he was seeking donations/raising awareness. Does anyone know what the protest may have been about and where I could get more information? I’m really curious !
Hello, my son is a competitive youth soccer player. We will be in Tokyo for a couple of weeks this month. He’s interested to do short private training or playing with local kids. Usually when we traveled, we head to local parks where he could do pick up games with local kids or we rent futsal gym for an hour or so.
I was told that we can’t play soccer in a local park ourselves. Any suggestion on where to go for him for an hour or two? Private coach will be helpful too.
I looked up a few international clubs like Liverpool FC IA, unfortunately they closed during the time we will be there (Dec 23-Jan 7).
Appreciate any recommendations.
Hey I don't have access to my bank card right now. In many countries you can use your phone wallet tap feature at ATMs but I can't find any in Tokyo. Anyone know of any that have this option?
I also tried a Bitcoin ATM in Aikihabara but it too requires a physical "Gaia" card that you need to apply for. So U couldn't even do it with crypto
Hello! Recently my hair/scalp have been having many problems, so I want to go to a dermatologist. Any recommendations for ones that are knowledgeable about scalp/hair issues and English speaking? My Japanese is being worked on but is very bad atm. Anywhere in the 23 wards is okay with me.
I was in Tokyo for 9 days and captured this fire in Shibuya on November 6th. I hope no one was hurt 🙏🏻
What are your plans for the the weekend? Any exciting event going on? Share your tips in the comments.
Don't know what to do this weekend? Luckily you're in the biggest city in the world and there's plenty to do:
Meetup mode: if you're up for people to join your shenanigans, say so! Say when you're available, and what you'd like to do. Add your age, a little about yourself, and your gender if relevant.
Not gonna lie I do feel like Tokyo is getting more and more overcrowded every year by tourism. I used to enjoy to go to the more popular neighbourhoods like Ginza and Shibuya but lately it is impossible to walk around without feeling overstimulated by huge crowds.
This is not a rant against tourism but I do feel like Japan should manage their tourism crowds more.
Hello! I’ve spent years digging through the Tokyo music scene, unearthing everything that’s amazing here, and sharing as much of it as possible on r/Tokyo, among other places.
Now for the first time I’ve put together my own event: a culmination of everything featuring four of the most outstanding, jaw-dropping rock bands I know, together with supporting DJs for a body-shocking showcase of some of the very best of Tokyo music culture. Please come to see it!
Here’s the trailer where you can hear all the acts. Tickets are available either by reservation (pay on the door, advance price), online (advance price), or without reservation on the door (door price). The venue is Basement Bar, my favourite venue in Tokyo and always a home for the cutting-edge of the underground.
This is the best possible introduction I could have made to this scene I love and want to share with as many people as possible. We’ve already got close to 100 reservations, so it’s guaranteed to be a great party and place to meet people! I hope to see you there.
Hello! Does anyone know any good places for studying/working? My requirements are:
My budget is under 2000yen. Ideally something with food/coffee but open to other places. Thank you very much!
There is an amazing apartment going in that area but looking on the map it looks pretty residential. Does anyone live around there? Are there cafes and such around there that are worth it?
As a point of comparison I live in a part of shibuya currently which is known for cafes. I’m tossing up if I want amazing apartment or amazing suburb 🤣
I keep getting ads for it so I’m curious if anyone’s actually tried it? If so, what was it like?
For context, it’s an app that pairs small groups of strangers together for weekly dinners somewhere in the city. I think you take a quiz or something for them to match you with similar people.
I've just signed a lease on an apartment that has a Hikari port installed already, and I'm trying to figure out how to go about getting it hooked up. My move-in date is December 23 (I'll get the keys on the 22nd) so is there anything I can do now to ensure the internet is connected more or less from day one? Also, does anyone know how to determine which company's line is currently installed?
Thanks for any help/advice you can offer. This is all new to me, and somewhat daunting. 😓
