I've just had a Zoom call with a real estate agent from Osaka, and I was told that apartments with ペアグラス, which I believe is commonly associated with good insulation from outside weather are more commonly found in Hokkaido and not so much in Kansai. Is this true? Should I just find a place with good floor heating then?

I'm looking for suggestions for a 3 month stay in Osaka. I'm a 32M that will be in Osaka from the beginning of February to end of April 2025. I've searched on AirBnb and Agoda/Booking.com for both hotels and serviced apartments but can't find something that's affordable for an extended stay. Are there any other local platforms where I can find a 3 month short term lease? One platform I've found is https://apartment-japan.com/osaka, does anyone have experience using their services? My maximum budget is 165 000 Yen per month. I require a simple furnished bacherlor's/studio with fast and stable wifi relatively close to public transport / railway station.
i’ve already checked kindal & 3 2nd street shops but no luck finding one. any store suggestions?
Hello :) Going outside of Japan for a few month I am leaving Wednesday morning and I am looking for someone willing to keep my electro acoustic guitar for this time or maybe forever, I don't have the heart to sel it , would be nice to know that she is played on
Planning a move to Osaka from the US. I expect it will be difficult to build relationships with Japanese people, but wondering how easy/hard it is to get to know other expats. I assume it will require me getting out and exploring hobbies and activities to meet people—but are people generally friendly and welcoming?
If you’re a foreigner living in Japan, how did you go about building friendships? Was it difficult?
Thanks for anything you’re willing to share.
Hi. I'm looking for a golf cap for my bf. I don't know anything about it so I need help which and where to buy one. Thank you in advance!
Hey guys, I'm gonna keep this short because it’s not really that important, to be honest, haha. I just like the Reddit community, and I think there's no better place to get honest answers or real comments about anything we post here. Anyway...
I'm currently in Osaka, Japan. Before this, I visited Tokyo (really nice), Kyoto (beautiful), and I arrived in Osaka yesterday with my girlfriend. We went to a takoyaki restaurant/bar, and there was a table with four Japanese guys in their 30s, I’m pretty sure. As soon as we sat down, they started staring at us, talking loudly, laughing, and one of the guys began making fun of us, saying my girlfriend was beautiful and all that nonsense. I almost lost my cool and was about to start a fight. I felt like people here are much louder and more obnoxious, sorry for the harsh words. Has anyone had a similar experience here? Also, how does police support for foreigners work here? Thanks!
What are everyone’s favorite unique day trips from Osaka, especially places with nature or great autumn foliage views? Not talking about obvious ones like Nara, Kyoto, Biwako, etc
Hello! I recently moved to Osaka and I’d like to maintain a hair style I have with some teal sections of hair. I don’t know if it matters for a recommendation but I am white so I don’t have Asian hair. Does anyone have a place that they like for vivid colors?
Thank you!
I am moving out of my country for the first time in my life. I got a job offer in Osaka and I am arriving to Japan on January.
The company will provide me first month accommodation, so I need to find a house for rent.
I am planning to look for an UR apartment near Toyonaka(cos rents of apartments around main city are pricey + no floor heating😭) suggestions are welcome on apartment finding, I am looking for new buildings with floor heating in residential areas.
I am so clueless what I need to take and what I can buy from Osaka(I am an Indian so I am wondering should I take spices and masala items)
Also, Can I carry poha and upma(broken wheat without company name but completely sealed)? Also masala powders completely packed but without company name? As I am carrying homemade masala powders or should I carry only masala powders and upma only with company brand names?
As there might be New year sale until mid-January I want to know what are the things I can easily get from Osaka during this sale that I need not carry all the way from India like formal shoes, winter clothing or anything else that is necessary.
I am also planning to carry fragrances: 2x100ml body mist and 2x100ml perfumes not luxury brands but regional brands in check-in luggage. Should I declare it in customs? As both are not luxury brands?
Kindly suggest me to optimise my trip.
P.S: I am from southern part of India and the temperature is hot here and I usually sweat a lot, that is the only concern I am bringing fragrances. I carefully chosen mild ones but I will be respectful of the culture and not wear it too much.
Maybe not full sized American pizzas that would go into a large oven, but toaster oven sized pizzas. I am really craving a shitty frozen pepperoni pizza.
Hey all, been craving some of my traditional romanian food lately and with the Romanian National Day coming up, I was thinking of eating something more close to home.
Only problem is that I can't seem to find any restaurants even near Osaka, closest one would be in Nagoya from what I found and it doesn't serve romanian food, just wine.
Anyone have any clues of maybe some restaurants that are a bit more underground, and that's why I haven't heard of them? Any help appreciated!
Looking for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in Osaka. Thank you 😊
I’ll be moving to higashiosaka in a couple of weeks and I was thinking of joining a gym. Any recommendations for a good gym around the area?
Hi everyone. I am a big fan of 甘栗 (roasted chestnuts) and this is the season for it. There used to be a store near Namba that sells them. Any tips for good stores that sells them freshly roasted? Thanks in advance.
Where can you get engraved chopsticks in Osaka? The places I see are all in Tokyo. So far the only store I have found is at the Osaka Castle, does anyone have any other recommendations?
Hi people! Has anyone been to Minoh Falls these days? Is it worth to watch the Autumn foliage right now or should I rather wait one more week?
Any solo travellers heading to Circus tonight?!
hi everyone!
i’ve been trying to find a particular bakery here in osaka but i just can’t find it anywhere. i visited osaka in 2016 and i can clearly recall buying bread from a bakery that has some sort of blue logo.
i remember buying bread that’s abit like a baguette with potato salad stuffed inside. if i remember correctly the the name starts with ‘A’.
this bakery was pretty common and i would find it near metros around osaka. does anyone know what i’m talking about? (hopefully i don’t sound like a madman 😅😅) i really want to eat my potato bread again HAHA
any help is appreciated thank you!
Hi everyone, I'm American and my gf is Japanese. We got confirmation today that she is pregnant! I currently still live in the US and I'm still new to learning Japanese so I don't really know much about this process in Japan.
She currently lives in Izumi, Osaka. She had previously told me the whole of pregnancy and childbirth is Japan would be "free", through later reimbursement. Well obviously I went to look this process up today only to find that isn't that case, and also got a nice 20000円 bill today that I now know I won't be getting back...
Is there a way to reduce these costs during pregnancy? I've read a little about registering the pregnancy, coupon books, etc. but obviously I'm unfamiliar with this process. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Just to prevent wasting anyone's time, I didn't see anything about it, but if there's some income limit cutoff for assistance, I make ~1700万円 per year.
I need a barber than can do a nice trim on a large beard. Any suggestions, think viking sized.
