My friend and I have been trying to translate some text from a game that never got localised outside of Japan. It has a fan translation but only transliterates some of the words, so I want to find where those words come from. The game is "Joy Mech Fight", a fighting game on the Family Computer.
The main character is a comedian robot called スカポン (Sukapon in Super Smash Bros., instead of Skapon). I found sukasuka スカスカ on nihongo-net which says it means "empty", and I read that pon means "light hitting", but now I am seeing results for "clumsy/useless/unreliable". If it was "empty hitting", then we would have concluded it was like a "bonk" sound effect in English, but that other definition for pon is closer to Sukapon's personality as a silly guy that trips over a lot.
He has two special moves we could not figure out, Konnanirahen コンナンイラヘン (Konaniran in the fan translation), and Tondeker トンデケー. My friend speaks Japanese but is not familiar with the culture, they said both words appear to use Kansai dialect, which is probably because the character trained his comedy in Kansai.
If anyone could confirm their meanings I would appreciate it. These two links show the moves I mentioned.
Hello,
I am writing to seek information for a professional project. I am a French artisan specializing in marquetry and I wish to participate in a residency in Kyoto in exchange with the French Institute in Japan.
I have learned that the Japanese marquetry technique, Yosegi Zaiku, is practiced in the city of Hakone, but I would like to broaden my research and find out about other forms of artisanship closer to Kyoto.
In this regard, I am looking for information on woodworking and any other form of artisanal art in the Kansai region. I am particularly interested in the techniques, know-how, and traditions specific to this region.
If you happen to know of any artisans practicing Yosegi Zaiku near Kyoto, I would be interested in learning more about them!
Any information you could provide me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your valuable help !
(Japanese Translation via google translate, sorry if It's not perfect....)

Hello all, I’m interested in exploring places, especially abandoned and haunted places. Any recommendations in Kansai? It doesn’t have to be a village but can be an apartment building or tunnel. Thanks.
Why did people from all over the world, such as the Japanese people, not come to tell me about this; while the Communist Party of China came to tell me about this? Why does the Chinese Communist Party know something the rest of the world doesn't? Why are the Chinese Communists so smart and the Japanese so dumb? Do the Japanese think the Chinese Communist Party is laughing at me for being a loser and dying? Haha!
How do you say the following using Kansai-ben?
I know I can use Ookini or Ookini arigatou but most of my research for "for meeting me" or "for having me" is mostly casual Japanese and not with kansai-ben. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone. I have been living in Osaka for about 3 months now and I'd like to get some things taken care of at the hospital. I'm OK with having a Japanese-only doctor for things like annual physicals (my wife can translate my gibberish and the doctor's more difficult words), but I'm looking to find either a specialist (dermatologist) that speaks English, or a general practitioner that speaks English that can relay to a specialist. My wife seems to be having a hard time finding one for me, so the next stop is the internet!
Has anyone from this community found an English-speaking doctor in the Kansai area?
Got stuck away from home due to COVID-19. I am worried about my house and yard. House is near the Osaka/Kyoto border.
Must have own saw, ladder, shears, and other gardening tools. Probably would need your own vehicle also to carry all that stuff but there is a bus stop 10 minutes walking distance away. Can keep all fruit and vegetables from the yard plus once finished if you take photos of your work I can send you some money.
If you need others to help you I might be able to coordinate something with other people who reply from this ad.
Please reply with dates available, name, phone number, and confirm that you have the right tools for the job.
