Hello there. What can I say besides the obvious, I am afraid, I don’t know what’s gonna happen after January 20th. I’ve been following close this whole election process and honestly I believe both candidates have good points and bad ones. But the thing that has me thinking a lot, is the mass deportation issue.
I live in San Francisco since 2023, arrived with a tourist visa and have been working in the service industry since. I’m a licensed architect in Mexico, my goal coming here after fleeing from some personal issues that put my life in danger back home, was seeking asylum and saving money to get a masters, and study harder to do what I love, for a country that I’m very fond of which is the United States of America.
I began my asylum process in January, finally sending my application one month ago, I was very excited… and then we got some news. I don’t know if I should be afraid or not, I’m a gay man, I’m an immigrant, I don’t know if all these things that are being said are all true or what applies to me.
Am I considered a legal immigrant? Am I not? Am I going to get deported? Am I gonna go back to where I feel unsafe?
I’m trying to stay positive even calming fellow friends that are going through similar things that I am. I’m trying to calm people down, to give them hope, but I’m even doubting myself at this point, because as much as I’ve been reading about Trump, Kamala, catching up with news and popular opinion, I don’t know much about law or US politics, how are laws enforced and how hard could Trump get the ICE in a “safe haven” that California as a whole is supposed to be.
When I took the decision to abandon my life back in Mexico, I had to repeat myself that everything was going to be fine and that it was for the better… did I lie to myself?
Hi everyone,
I am 27F, visiting the Bay area for the first time in mid Nov 24. I will be staying there for 6 nights and looking for budget accommodation. I have narrowed my search to Green Tortoise Hostel, HI Fisherman's Warf, and Samesun Hostel in Lombard Street. Can anyone recommend which location I should pick in terms of safety, access to public transport, vegetarian food options, and going to touristy places like Golden Gate Bridge, Coit tower, pier, etc?
Gonna put it on my desk to help me manifest daily that one day I could be looking at the Golden Gate with my own eyes in real life. Cheers people and cherish your beautiful city!!!
I just recently moved into my new apartment in SF & although I love it I’m super stressed about parking. Upon first viewing the apartment, the spot looked easy, but after moving in today & seeing other cars around it was extremely difficult. I didn’t get a pic from today but please see the pic with my crappy drawing. There’s a pole to the left & two cars to the right of me. It was so difficult to park mostly because of the pole & the white car on the right, avoiding them both is so hard. Does anyone have any tips?? Thanks for any help!!
Heading west towards the toll plaza many folks using the bus lane at 70mph. What’s the deal - I thought that was only for buses? Also lots of people using the shoulder and passing at high speeds on the right. Stressful and dangerous. Never thought I’d say I miss the CHP, but indeed I do. haha
For all my introverts, where are your favorite places to just be alone and reflect?
Hey, I just moved to Page st and the last two nights I’ve heard a woman screaming things like “stop it” super loud. It just happened again. It’s not in my building and seems to be coming from down toward or past Steiner. has anyone heard the same? I would call the cops but i don’t know the exact area it’s coming from.
Looking for recommendations on where to find a silvertip Christmas tree in the Bay Area. Thanks!
I know this is a long shot. But I left my white ThermoFlask water bottle at Mother’s Meadow playground Wednesday evening and just realized it now. It has a PokeBall and SF State Cinema sticker on it. I’m a broke college student (with horrible ADHD apparently) and would so much appreciate if anyone can let me know if they found it. Last known photo enclosed.
Thanks.
Daisy was last seen around 5:30 in the designated off-leash area of Alamo Square Park. Multiple people have been looking have you seen here tonight? If so call/text (415) 508-8150. Thanks!
Sorry to ask here but I will delete tomorrow once I’m on board.
Does anyone know the exact location of where my 6am bus to LA will board? The address on my ticket is “425 Mission St Ste 206, 94105 San Francisco, United States” which is the Saleforce transit center.
Does it leave from some bay inside or on the street corner?
I’m hoping someone here knows!
they famously don't have a website and are closed tomorrow.
would love to avoid a disappointing monday morn!
I'm currently in the market for a new apartment and have been considering this building. I had a rent controlled unit in the tenderloin for 12 years so the neighborhood does not concern me but I do wonder what the building itself is like? My main concern is how much sound passes between apartments? I really don't care what my neighbors are doing but I cannot stand living somewhere with people that complain every time they hear me take a step. I'm not the noisiest person on earth but I do have a vinyl collection and would prefer listening to music over watching TV. Are the walls made of paper there or is this a pretty sturdy building? Thanks in advance!
Does anyone know what happened to Natasha Yi from the JV Show? Did she leave the show?
Happened on Post St and Taylor St corner. It was so scary.
Edit: this was while I was waiting for the bus. A piece of wood came flying out of the building window and hit me on the back of my head.
Lovely day in 🌁 Canon R8 + 50mm/1.8
Anyone selling a tic for tops tonight at the chapel?
There’s a floor on ground level to drink and a bar and there’s also a whole large floor underground
Do you guys have any tattoo artists that you’d recommend?? Looking for an American traditional. Trying to add to the sleeve in the city. Lmk thanks.
There’s a dog park literally 50 feet away.
The SF Housing Authority just informed me that as of January 1st, 2025 they’re going to lower their payment standards because rents are decreasing. I have only been noticing rents going up!
