While I haven’t completely ruled out a minivan for my family, I’d like to consider other vehicles too. The third row will not always be in use but it would be great for the in-laws who we see often enough for us to consider. We live in a warmer state but go to the mountains/ snow in the winter so 4x4 isn’t a must but it would be nice to have (if budget allows).
I’m looking for a car that has the following:
A couple of cars I have been thinking about are the Toyota grand highlander or the Lexus gx460. Let me know if you guys have any other recommendations!
Hey, I am going to sell my Subaru BRZ and replace it with a sedan (wife is pregnant).
I want to replace it with RWD sedan and this are my options, all are 2021/2022 in the RWD version:
BMW 330e
Lexus IS300 F-Sport
Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce
I want a car that is fun to drive, with modern technology and decent reliability.
I’d take the Lexus but not sure about it as the interior looks old and gearbox is lazy.
I’d take the 330e but not sure if it’s fun to drive as the Lexus and Alfa. The Lexus and Alfa look better IMO.
Alfa is probably the most fun to drive (?) but tech is meh and reliability has bad reputation.
Hi everyone,
I’m not the biggest car person as I currently am leasing a Nissan Altima, but I recently got a big raise at work and thought to myself that once this lease is up, I’d be very interested in looking into purchasing my first ever luxury vehicle. I’ve been interested in a few such as the Audi A7, Mustang Mach-E and my eyes have been more recently glued to the BMW 430i Gran Coupe. I don’t know much about cars (please don’t roast me) but I’m hoping a few people could give me their thoughts and experience with this vehicle. Is the driving assistance professional package worth adding on? I’m not expecting for the car to have complete self-driving like a Tesla, but if the assistance is worth the almost $2k add on, I’d love to hear why you think so. I’d definitely be interested in also hearing if you have any other Luxury car recommendations under $75k. I do not necessarily care about having a super sporty car, but definitely one with decent perks , especially on the interior, such as heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, driving assistance, self-parking, etc.
I appreciate you all for any help and recommendations!
Buying my very first truck. I don’t pull a lot of weight and mainly do camping, kayaking, outdoor activities. I’m between the Colorado and Tacoma. The Colorado seems hot and cold on reviews. The Tacoma’s are more expensive. Any insights to which is best option? Is Tacoma that much better since it’s more expensive? Colorados seem nicely priced..
Basically I’m getting a used 2023 with 20k miles for 44k OTD And 2024 Brand new for 49k OTD Both XLE trim.
Which one would be worth it?
My budget is 7k , I don’t want to really go over 6 just incase I need money for repairs and I’m looking for a first car , just want it to have some tech in it and it to be a little bit fast but not to much that my insurance goes high and I also don’t want a very big car I find smaller ones nicer , any ideas ?
Paying insurance monthly so that Dosent matter in the budget
These are the cars I’ve looked at so far, and neither one of them have impressed me enough.
Toyota crown 2025 nightshade
Tesla model Y
I also like Santa Fe and Lexus RX350h.
Pretty much as the title states. I'm conflicted because I know both vehicles have issues but I've walked myself into the need for a truck due to hauling about 7,000 pounds and the need for an open bed for farm/ranch equipment and materials. Here's my breakdown below, and I would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks in advance. I'm a cash buyer that tends to buy a car and keep it for a decade, so I'd like to look towards long-term reliability. Trucks appear to be crapshoots, but this is mainly a weekend driving car, not a daily driver. Is there an option I haven't listed that I should consider?
Heya!
Recently had my car stolen, and I want to use ~12k on a car. fine with spending more if necessary. Looking for something with AWD and good gas milage. Unfortunately AWD is a necessity as I use the car for recreation to the various mountains of the PNW and need something that can reliably put traction down. Any recommendations are helpful! Shooting for something about the size of an outback.
Hello! I have to get a car pretty last minute. My fiance's family friend is a mechanic that also sells cars. He is vetted as trusted and reliable. I'd like something that'll last me a good 3-4 years. Here are my options:
2018 Hyundai Elantra. $7,500. New engine (done by him) 169k miles
2010 Honda CRV he’s re doing engine soon on it. He said $8,900. 200k miles.
Lincoln continental, 230 miles $5,000, no check engine but it’s expensive to fix he but there’s never been issues. "Drive it for 2 years and get rid of it and you’ll be driving a 60 thousand dollar car"
2019 Cadillac XTS 140k miles. $11,000
And then Another Cadillac with 200k milage but $7,500
Any thoughts, advice, guidance would be very appreciated!
I am looking at purchasing a grand highlander hybrid but would primarily need it for taking kids from daycare and back (less than 4 miles daily). The reason we want a bigger car is because we do travel occasionally out of town with parents so need bigger space.
Will it still provide me with good mpg on a daily basis of driving less than 4 miles?
Does short trips damage the hybrid batteries?
Bought a 2010 Honda Civic Sport about a month ago. Pretty solid condition, only 65000 km on it, one owner who didn’t drive it a lot. No accidents and everything looked clean, brought to my mechanic before buying and he said it looked good as well. Purchased for around $10k CAD (negotiated down a bit).
AutoTrader says “Great Deal” (whatever that’s worth).
I found both cars with the same mileage (190k km/120k miles) listed for the same price. Both have similar fuel + insurance costs (insurance is higher on the civic but the fuel economy makes up for it). I like that the Civic has a nicer interior, yet I'm worried about its direct injection, as someone told me to stay away from them. Whereas the TC is quicker, but spare parts are harder to come by since they aren't common to begin with.
Which one would you pick? Would like to hear your opinions!
they're toyota harrier 2007 240G vs honda crv 2002 which one is better?
Looked at the Subaru Crosstek and loved it.
BUT I was less than impressed when I asked questions about the money factor (I dunno) on a possible lease, and what all the additional fees were for (again, I dunno) on a purchase.
Acquisition fees, document fees (to store the documents, duh 🙄). $699 for a special clear coat.
I didn’t even start negotiating on the price yet 🙄
Suggestions?
I took a job that will have me commuting 40k miles per year. The drive will include a few miles of washboard dirt road but mostly a pretty rough mountainous 2 lane road. My main concern with buying a car is longevity- I mainly drive an f350 with over 400k miles, and my only previous experience with cars was a Bmw e92x that I felt did not hold up well to the abuse from rural roads. I let that car go at only 120k miles with a severe issue in the rear subframe/body after having a multitude of repairable chassis issues (bent stock wheel, tie rods, steering components, struts and control arms) the awd system suffered from issues as well and was not particularly useful, the ground clearance was far too low, so I looked at the entire car purchase as a financial error
So I am looking at a ford explorer with 2.3l but I am hoping to being talked into something that may be more economical such as a Honda civic or accord. The simplicity of a rwd/2wd is appealing to me, but would have me commuting in the truck 3-4mo out of the year. Price is less of a factor than value but I have been looking at under 25k used vehicles. Thank you for your advice!
long story short my first ever car got totaled, i’m receiving about $5000 CAD from the settlement which was above my expectations so I settled and did not negotiate.
I’m wanting to get a replacement for it but don’t know much about car brands and reliability. I’m thinking of using the cash settlement as a down payment towards a newer-used car. My max budget would be around $10000 CAD or below.
I’m a college student so i just need something reliable, somewhat efficient on gas, and maybe a vehicle that’s AWD. So far ive been looking at Honda CRVs, Honda Accords, and Subaru Foresters.
Hi Everyone,
I’m looking for advice on what used trucks I should look at purchasing for my snow removal business. I need a truck that is reliable during the winter that I can plow with, but I also need it to be able to tow a trailer with a Kubota L6060 with a snowblower attachment (7000-8000lbs) about an hour up and down a mountain road, a few times a year. Trying to keep it under $30,000.
Thanks for any advice.
Sonata 2016 Hybrid - 52k miles, $13k Malibu 2017 Hybrid - 70.5k miles, $14k
They are both in good conditions. The Sonata has a lot less accessories than the Malibu, but I do not care about it too much. Which one would you pick and how much would you negotiate it down to?
I'm looking for a sports sedan (BMW, Audi etc.) or sports car (BRZ) that can comfortably fit 2 boys, ages 3 and 6, for the next 3 years. My priorities are:
I've shortlisted the BMW and BRZ, but am open to other options. I'm targeting a 2020 model or older. I'm close to buying a BRZ, but want to explore other possibilities before making a decision.
Are there other options worth considering? Should I stick with the BRZ or explore alternatives?
Hi all,
Seeking your wisdom: I'm looking to buy a new or certified pre-owned subcompact SUV of some type in the next month or two.
It needs to have leather or leatherette seats and interior in light non-gray color, e.g. like light-colored tan, camel, beige, or other light warm color. (No black or gray of any shade).
I like the subcompact cars around the size of the Hyundai Kona and Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, but these don't have light leather/ette interiors. The gas version of the Corolla Cross does have a lighter macademia/mocha interior, but I'd love to get a uniformly lighter color, if that's even possible.
The Toyota Rav4, Subaru Outback, Hyundai Tucson, and other compact SUVs are too big.
Does anything out there fit these specs?
Thanks so much.
103k miles asking $4,900. Is this a good, fairly reliable car? It’s a 6 speed manual so I don’t really worry about the tranny, but is the engine but of the disaster Kia was experiencing? I checked for any open recalls on the Kia website and it shows the only incomplete one is the HECU. What do you all think is a good price for it? Located in Southwest FL.
I'm looking for a compact SUV to replace my 2014 Honda Accord 4-cylinder, 156K miles. Leaning SUV this time for the extra ride height. Been having issues with the car with age. I replaced the CVT with a rebuilt unit, and the coil packs as well within the last year.
I live in Houston, so flat land and no real winter to speak of. I am single, but I'll most likely be getting married in the next year or two. No kids. I rarely use the back seat in my Accord, so I don't need a huge passenger compartment.
These are my use cases for the car:
I'm not a fast or aggressive driver, but I don't want something that's too slow to keep up with traffic - I have to deal with Houston drivers that ARE fast and aggressive!
So far I've looked at:
-- Honda CRV, EX-L Gas and Sport Hybrid. I was very comfortable in the seats (they remind me of my Accord seats, which I do like). Good visibility. Gas-only powertrain and CVT was alright, Hybrid was awesome. It bothers me that the Hybrid lacks a spare tire or even a place to put one though.
-- Mazda CX-5 Premium Plus -- awesome handling, GREAT deal for the money. Tried the turbo version. Still considering this one. But the Honda that I tried right after it felt more like "home" - maybe it was the seats?
-- Acura RDX Tech. Nice seats and good performance. But I need to get past the non-touchscreen infotainment. It's still better than my Accord "infotainment" - a phone mounted to a holder. And how's the MPG?
-- Lexus NX 350 CPO (2022 model). I think this one may have had a few issues, I don't think the dealer totally refurbished it yet. I will be revisiting this one. My GF has an RX350, so I'm familiar with the brand. Hybrid is intriguing.
-- Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium -- a little "meh" all around. I wouldn't mind giving the Hybrid a shot though.
-- Genesis GV70 -- gonna try this one tomorrow.
Except for the Lexus, all of these are new. I'd consider getting some kind of used vehicle too, but I don't have a huge amount of time right now to be scouring every corner for one.
So for those of you who have owned one of these, what do you think about how they'd fit my use cases? Am I missing something (maybe Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Subaru Outback/Forester)?
As my friends know, I'm very subject to "analysis paralysis", perfectionism, and making mountains out of little flaws. For pricing, I'm looking to keep it under $50K, but I would be willing to stretch a little if upping the ante is worth it.
Thanks!
