Choice. Normally, you get 3 or 4 carriers to choose from. But the prepaid market is fiercely competitive with close to one hundred different carriers! That's a lot to choose from!
Freedom. No 2-year commitments. You can leave a prepaid carrier at any time with no termination fees!
Price. With a wide-open, competitive market, prepaid gets you the same service at a better price. It's just that simple.

Hello,
Questions
How do I find best coverage for my area?:
I looked up coveragemap.com and it says that T-Mobile is the best one followed by verizon, however, from what I understand coverage map is crowd sourced. Is there any other good sources that I can compare coverage maps to get a better idea if T-Mobile is the one I should choose
Best carrier for at least 50gb hotspot: Visible seems to be the best carrier for hotspot in regards to Verizon, I got a feeling I'm probably gonna go with Verizon, but.. what would be visible equivalent to T-Mobile?
My situation: I'm a gig driver, doing doordash, Uber, ect.. Currently using boost mobiles $60 plan 50gb hotspot.
I plan on having 4 phones. Three for work only, and one for watching videos and playing some mobile games potentially. After looking at my usage I feel confident that 50gb is all id need if I sacrifice my entertainment phone a bit, though sometimes I do go over the limit and the deprioritization is bad with boost. Unlimited for either carrier would be sweet but i think $60 is the limit
I just ordered the Infimobile-Tmobile 15GB/month plan in Amazon. Will be activating after a month when my current service expires.
Any other tips appreciated.
Price good for 2 years.
I've been using ATT for basically 20 years. Started on a family plan as a teenager and now am just by myself.
I'm currently on the AT&T Unlimited Starter SL plan which is $70.99 a month. For the record, I always buy my new iphones from apple and never through ATT, becuase I keep my old phones and dont trade them in (often give them to my mom or something)
I looked into the pre-paid plans and they ALL seem better than my current plan, actually most are not only cheaper but ALSO better.
For example Unlimited MAX® + 25GB hotspot data is $55 Unlimited MAX® Plus + 35GB hotspot data is $65
Both are cheaper than my plan. My plan only has 5GB hot spot and the same SD streaming as the cheaper Unlimited max plan. The upgraded max plan actually allows for HD streaming with NO throttling and is 10 dollars cheaper than my current plan.
Can someone explain this BS to me? Why are prepaid plans obviously better?
I figured there might be some catch so I called ATT directly, prepaid and regular plans are two different departments, so they refuse to answer my questions about which plan I should have.
So can anyone help me out? Why would I stay on a normal plan when pre-paid is so much better? Is the coverage worse or something?
Switching lifetime to paid company I'm in NY I have lifetime free phone Gen Network I finally got a job and purchased iPhone 16 through Boost Mobile . Boost cannot port in my number ! They are trying for 20 days and just can't do it . I'm about to cancel the transaction and send them back the iPhone . Gem mobile said I have no issue transferring my number to Boost they gave me the account number and the pin. I'm using Android with sim card phone and trying to switch to iPhone esim. . Should I try with a different carrier? Is it Boost issue or Gem? Any helpful idea please ! I need a new phone
I'm starting up a virtual business. My partner and I will mostly work off of mobile phones, WhatsApp, and email.
We'd prefer that other people's caller IDs would show our company name when we call them (as opposed to "Wireless Caller").
US Mobile said they can do this under their Warp (Verizon) plan.
Does anyone else provide this service?
Recently heard about redbull mobile and people using it as a second Sim for traveling? It says to use it in addition to your main service...so what's the benefit over an unlimited data plan that includes unlimited international rates from someone like Tmobile or Spectrum or any other carrier that includes international data in the base plan? I must be missing something, thanks.
Hello I was wondering if anyone can help with a question I have about sending pics from a talk and text only sim using the data from a second sim that has data. Is it possible? I wanted to get a sim from H20 wireless talk and text only but if I had to send a pic occasionly that I would be able to using the other sims data. Thanks
Looking to maybe migrate my wife from US Mobile Dark Star to Cricket. Dark star doesn't support visual voicemail and I've read about the group message issues too. She has an iPhone 11 (4G only) so using Warp doesn't make sense since she'll be deprioritized (Verizon is heavy deprioritized around here it seems). She doesn't need hotspot. I see Cricket has 3 months for $45 and also 1 year for $300.
Can we do the 3 months for $45 and then do the 1 year for $300 afterwards if she decides to continue? There is some verbiage on their website about not switching from monthly plans to multi-month plans.
I'm on total (Verizon priority) and would like to keep her on AT&T's network so, between the two of us, we have multiple networks for coverage when traveling.
I am on Visible+ and the wife is on US Mobile Warp (Verizon) Starter. We recently went to Ole Red in Nashville on a Saturday night which was packed and we didn't have useable data. We also went to the theater in Chicago and same story. In both places people all around us had data and were happily posting photos and so on.
I get why the wife didn't have data being on the Starter plan, but I thought Visible+ was QCI 8. I guess regular Verizon is the only way to have useable data in crowded places?
Side question. Is there a AT&T MVNO that would work better in crowded places?
Thanks for any responses.
Hello. I was (dumbly) an AT&T customer for many years but switched to US mobile two weeks ahead of my six month trip to France (I'm taking a class here). I have an iPhone 12 so dual eSIM is not supported.
My question is, should I get a physical SIM here in France so I can use my US mobile and French SIM simultaneously? (I believe iPhone 12 allows dual use of one physical sim and one eSIM, but not two eSIMs). Or would that be screwing myself over when I return to the US? When I switched over to US mobile, did that "overwrite" my AT&T physical sim? (When I look at my avail sims, the top one still says AT&T so I assume it did not overwrite).
Thanks for any help or advice you have!
Has anyone had their eSIM stolen? My mom's phone was hacked. I figured out they were using it for MFA and had initiated wire transfers out of her investment account. We've locked her accounts.
We called Mint Customer Support to move the account back. I was told we need to verify her identity and we'll get a call from the 2nd level support within 4 hours as they can't fix it, but no call. I called again after 5 hours. They opened a 2nd ticket and claimed they called my number we provided (since her phone is hacked) but didn't. I can show the call records. No calls. No voicemail.
Once I discovered the fraudulent wire transfer, I called in a third time (7 hours later) and demanded they either shut down the line or get it transferred back immediately. I was now in contact with a supervisor. Great I thought. She took her verifying information (again), and said she's submitting a VIP case, and opened yet a 3rd case. I can't understand why they don't just escalate the first case. She told us it would be up to 8 hours to get a call back... 8 hours? And still no call - even when they know there is criminal activity.
Any advice on how to get this resolved ASAP?
Target isn't working for me anymore 😢 so I'm looking for another site I can buy wireless refills without any fees
and no throttling.
Hi, I stream movies a lot and have used 300Gb in one month.
I'm familiar with Total Wireless and Visible.
Are there others?
Currently I have an S23 ultra with a physical sim (US mobile), I am looking to port over my google voice number onto an MVNO E-sim so I can keep my business number and use it on my phone.
(google voice does not have RCS which is important for me)
currently on my physical sim with USmobile I have the unlimited premium, this includes unlimited talk, text and data.
I was curious to see if there was a cheap MVNO that I can use for calls and texts only for my secondary work number, I have read that data is required for receiving MMS but I was wondering if I can share data from my primary plan to the secondary E-sim without needing to purchase a data plan for the secondary sim.
if anyone has experience using the same phone and using a dual physical sim / esim I would love to hear recommendations and thoughts.
I have an extra phone I want to use on wifi, but need a sim card. What is the cheapest one I can get?
I'm shopping for a new phone and the listing say both Verizon and unlocked, I'm wondering if the phone would work on other carriers well or not?
I've been using US Mobile for a while, and I’d like to share my experience to help those considering porting in. This post outlines what you should expect to avoid potential frustrations.
My experience is based on using an iPhone.

to enable Caller ID (learned from this Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/USMobile/s/FUleUNt0JL).🚨 Recommendation: If you rely on AT&T’s coverage, think twice before switching to Dark Star. The cost savings might not be worth the hassle.
✅ Pros:
❌ Cons:
🔹 AT&T-dependent users: Carefully consider whether Dark Star’s issues are worth the cost savings.
🔹 Verizon users: If you don’t need native international roaming, US Mobile’s Warp network is a solid choice.
🔹 T-Mobile users: If US Mobile’s pricing and data offerings align with your needs, it remains a viable option.
If you have any questions about US Mobile, feel free to ask. I hope this post helps those considering porting in!
I have moved to Japan and need to call my bank in my home country of Sweden.
When I click “View rates” on the page linked below, a window claiming that calls from Japan to Sweden are 1.9 cents per minute. Is it legit? Is there a catch?
unfortunately a lot of the services I count on don't recognize a google voice or other VOIP number. What is the cheapest option I have to maintain a "real" US number basically to receive authentication texts on?
Hello, To start I don't have an account with Visible. I have an unlocked at&t netgear router and a Visible sim card. However I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this all to work. Do I need to use my laptop to get this going? I have both apps for netgear and visible already. But visible wants the info for the phone but I'm not setting up a phone. I'm very lost with all of this. Please help! How do I get this working? Thank you!!
I'm considering switching to Visible+ and I'm wondering about people's experience. I had been with Verizon years ago, and had a series of bad experiences and terrible customer service. So I'm hesitant to go with a Verizon company.
Also, any difficulty porting out, just in case I decide it's not for me?
TIA
Consumer Cellular has apparently made some changes to their unlimited plan this week:
Single line unlimited $50 is now age restricted to 50+ only.
Unlimited for ages 18-49 is available for two lines at a rate of $70/month. Each additional line is $20/month.
Unlimited two for $60 and two $55 with AARP are still available for ages 50+.
Interesting development on the unlimited plan. Anyone have any rationale why the highest paid plan would now be restricted based on age/line amount?
I have a 3 week trip planned to a location with only Verizon coverage in a few months, while there I will need a phone with data plan, preferably hotspot data. Can you suggest a reasonably economical option? I only need this for the one trip, as I don't have Verizon signal at my home. Thanks for your suggestions
Need all recommendations as i will be using it as a wifi router in a spare phone for my google hub and gaming at times.
So what’s up with total? They have good pricing and deals but I see a lot of people have negative feedback. Before switching I would like to know what the possible issues would be that are common with total. Thanks guys.
Verizon and T-Mobile are pretty comparable in my area although T-Mobile is a little faster. Which mvno is going to be my best bet?
I received a message from someone who wishes to remain anonymous the other day. They said that they were told by Tello that the new number they signed up for cannot be ported out for 7 days. I had previously read someone else say they had this issue but dismissed it as they had an account with little post history and ignored all follow up questions (post - https://www.reddit.com/r/NoContract/comments/1hrusxp/comment/m561ccv/).
I asked if they could send me some proof so they sent me this email that they got from support (I blanked out their case number)
I decided to ask Tello about this directly and this was what was sent in return.
Hi there,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! After consulting with the relevant departments, we can confirm that setting up new lines with Tello may occasionally experience delays, which can also impact port-out requests, potentially taking up to 7 days. This is due to the time required for the synchronization process and finalizing provisioning. We are committed to ensuring a smooth experience and have not received any customer complaints regarding this matter. However, we are always ready to provide any additional information or support you if needed.
I feel like they're doing this to try to prevent people from hitting them up for cheap numbers to port out but don't want to say it. Anyway, I thought I would share this here so people know to expect delays if you want to port out from Tello right away.
Hey everyone! I am going to be filing a chapter 7 bankruptcy soon and figured “hey if I’m ever going to kick this $300/mo ATT bill now would definitely be the time!”
Anyone have suggestions on what carrier I should look into? I’ll have to get a new phone because I believe I owe on mine still but I’m not too worried about that but any the whole process honestly seems overwhelming and I’ve been with att for 12 years 😩 Anyway if anyone has any tips or advice from switching carriers, especially anyone who still owed money I would greatly appreciate your insight! Thank you in advance.
