I'm going to the USA soon to Las Vegas (around The Strip) with family. one of them has a a Samsung A52s 5G which has frequency bands, from my research:
4G: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 20, 26, 28, 32, 38, 40, 41, 66
5G 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66, 78
From some research I've seen past posts say band 71 is very important as it's the widest coverage for carriers like T Mobile. Is this still the case right now where I'll need band 71 for it to be reasonably usable or could you get okay or decent service still with those bands listed in a busy place like Las Vegas? I'd like to get them sim cards that will work well for the A52s
I recently switched over and took advantage of the “iPhone on us” promotion for six phones on my account. Because I was a new subscriber and I didn’t have enough credit to finance all of these phones, a couple of them were paid for and now I am receiving a monthly credit. Next year, when I am eligible for the early upgrade, normally I would trade in the phone and any outstanding balance would be forgiven and I would get a new phone and a new EIP, but what happens on the phone where I’ve already paid for it and I’m receiving a credit, do I continue to receive the credits? If not it seems like it’s a worse deal because I’m out what I paid for if I trade it in. So how do early upgrades work on a phone that’s paid for upfront that is receiving a monthly account credit?
I'm new to the magenta family and had some initial hickups when I signed up for mobile hotspot via chat (was targeting the 30gb for $10 hotspot deal). Spent forever trying to correct on chat until another Redditor told me to call the 1-800 care team. I'm shocked it went straight to a person (could be 11pm) and after a quick verification the rep was able to find the problem, escalate (or coordinate with his other team members) and got everything resolved in a single call. Even the hold music was great!
Now I'm really gonna have to consider moving my phone lines from AT&T to T-mobile.
tldr: chat via imessages/web is not as helpful as calling 1-800. Their line also went to a live person asap.
For the yearly upgrade on Go5G next, can I use any phone that qualifies for the upgrade promo I want eg. a Galaxy S9 for $1000 off? Or do I need to trade in my original phone. Thanks!
Hi everyone! Welcome to the Speed Test Monday thread. This is a weekly thread where you post your speed test and see others. We ask that in your comment, you include your speed test along with phone type, date and time, location, and whether it's indoor/outdoor. Enjoy!
I went to a T-Mobile kiosk at Costco today to ask about ZB10HSTI and MI30TI (I don't have an existing account so the TE options wouldn't apply). I asked the rep to search by SOC code, and he basically said that they do not search by SOC code, and that they only have the plans that are on their tablets. While saying this, he scrolled and paged hastily through the results categorized as mobile internet plans on the tablet. He did ask the other guy who was working at the time, who repeated the same message. This was frustrating because the rep did sound annoyed that there was no way that T-Mobile would price a plan with unlimited data that cheaply, therefore he basically implied I didn't know what I was talking about. I do not think that this is universally true for all Costcos, as there is a recent SlickDeals thread for the MI30TI with someone posting that they got two lines of that plan from Costco earlier this year.
Either way, I suppose it's small potatoes to them to not even try to search by SOC code and sell a data plan, so I left, and I'll plan to go to a corporate store. But I wanted to ask this sub: is identifying a plan by SOC code in order to sell it to a customer something that Costco reps do not do?
I'm about to order the pixel 9 pro xl, trading in my pixel 7 for the full $800 credit. My 7 has a $99 remaining balance which is showing up in the cart. I thought the promotion also covered whatever balance there was on your phone that you're trading in. Is that something that has to be done in the store? I'd have to wait upgrading for the remaining 4 months if it's not covered. I'm really hoping it can be covered because this is a great deal and would probably not be around in 4 months...right? Also, if it matters, I'm still on the Magenta plan and don't want to change the plan.
Have been using and trialing ATT/TM/VZ.
When someone calls when on Verizon and one is subscribed to caller id plus you will see the name on the inbound call — somewhat. I’ve seen generic representations of who is actually calling.
With ATT, I have seen the exact name of the company and not the industry that they represent.
How does T-Mobile fare in this regard? What database does T-Mobile use for the name I’d lookup of inbound calls?
Verizon uses cequint (sp?) AT&T partners with Hi Ya! What does T-Mobile use and how accurate is it vs the other two?
Want to go from Magenta to Go5G Plus or Next (whichever is 2 years) But really want to retain that 20% discount for life.
Hi everyone. I had a Samsung Galaxy S9 and I recently upgraded to a Google Pixel 9 via the TLife app. The new phone arrived. I have the old S9 and I would like to bring it into my local Tmobile corporate store so they can send it in to Tmobile and I can get my monthly credits. What exactly do I need to tell them at the store. I don’t want them to say that I need to mail it in. Last time I went that route it took 6 months for them to find it in their “warehouse”. I was so scared they would turn around and tell me they never received it. Thanks for any advice.
Looking for an affordable 5G mobile hotspot I can use in the car with my T-Mob 30GB plan. Trick is I want one that will turn on and off with the ignition (I will power it via USB). I have a Franklin Jextream 2100 but it requires the battery to be installed and so it won't power on/off as desired. Any recs? I'm currently using an Android "AI" box but it's only 4G and a bit flaky.
Ive been with TMO for almost 13 or 14 years. Overall i happy with the service but wonder if i am being limited in any manner staying on the now defunct simple choose plan) am losing value in anything?
below is my current plan with 6 lines (two were free lines added during promotions years ago.
ALSO: ALL lines have been upgraded to “unlimited high speed data” (with the chance of throttling at 50GB)

My concern i losing the free lines, the bill going up and losing the "unlimited" data. (throttled at 50GB)
When viewing my bill/account online I see prompts to :
Switch to Go5G Plus
Our newest plan with premium data and Netflix On Us.
(but that says its only 6GB per line of Data, I don’t want to lose the “unlimited” aspect of my current plan)
And I also see Magenta Status is that different plan ?
I can understand that the 8a might be too old or cheap to allow it to be traded on the current Pixel 9 deal - but they will accept the much older 4a. Doesn't make sense.
okay for some context: My family has the go5g plus plan My mom, dad, and brother all got iphone 14 pro max last year and my sister and I both have iphone 11s from 2019. Our monthly bill is $308.50
I want a new phone for christmas but my mom says I can only have one if it doesn’t make the bill go up “too much” I know the best way for that is to just buy the phone straight up but i dont know if she will be willing to do that.
On t-mobiles website it seems like that plan should only be like $150 a month, so why is ours so high? is there something I could say to t-mobile to make it lower or let me upgrade without raising it?
Any advice is appreciated, thank you

Picking up an extra shift tmrw at Costco for the first time, I'm usually stationed inside of Sam's club, can someone give me the quick GIFTCARD/promo rundown? Here at Sam's you get 75$ when you activate a voice line and an additional 75$ when you get a phone with it, so up to 150 per voice line
Looking to buy two cheap phones that we can use to trade in for the pixel deal. We have phones that don't qualify for the trade in. Best place to find cheap phones ?
I have 5 lines on this plan
Each line has Unlimited data ( Preferred Android Web) and 5 GB hotspot
Unlimited Text Message
I pay about $100 including taxes and Corporate discount on these 5 lines.
However, the plan does not come with international roaming and I can not add the latest International Data pass...
Are there any plans that TForce can switch me to that make sense?
Hi everyone.
I made a post before about how I decided I want another phone than the one I ordered at a T-Mobile store.
My entire family is upgrading, and I was pretty indecisive, so out of impulse I chose the S24 Ultra instead of the regular S24 (the one I want now).
We made the order yesterday, and the account is under my dad's name. I got some replies that I should cancel the order through the app, but I don't have access to the app or his phone.
Also, I believe we ordered all 4 at once, so is it possible just to switch mine? Or should I just go in tomorrow and tell them I want to switch phones? The phones were ordered yesterday and I believe aren't coming until another week, and they're being shipped right to the store. The other 3 are staying the same, one is being switched.
I was speaking to a T Force rep. I am on the Magenta Max 55+ with yearly upgrade. I have an IPhone 13 pro that I purchased a little over 2 years ago and is fully paid for. I want to upgrade to the IPhone 16 pro with the yearly upgrade. This is the response I got from the representative:
"Thank you so much for your patience, while I did some research for us. As we discussed, you are looking to upgrade your device using the Yearly Upgrade benefit while staying on your current Magenta Max 55+ plan. Great news! I can confirm that the Yearly Upgrade feature was added to your line ending in XXXX as of December 3, 2023!
Here is a quick break down on how that look so for you. To qualify for the yearly upgrade this year, you need to upgrade your device after the date of December 3, 2023. Once you complete the upgrade, you will be eligible to use the yearly upgrade feature again next year. The great news is that when you upgrade now, you will qualify for a full promotion with your trade-in and your eligible plan every year."
So I have to upgrade now without the yearly upgrade and then after I pay off 50% of that one I can then upgrade with the yearly upgrade?
Is this how you understand this plan?
Have an iPhone 12 that I submitted an unlock request through chat on T-Mobile's site(phone was Sprint originally). The representative that I spoke with said it would take "5-7 working days." This was on Nov 18th ~3pm EST. The phone still says SIM locked in settings.
Do I need to have the phone connected to T-Mobile's towers to have the unlock reach it or would using it only on wifi be sufficient for it to receive the signal to unlock the SIM?
Asking this as I've just let it sit with wifi on since then, I use Verizon now and don't have a T-Mobile SIM readily available.
Attached photo of representative saying the unlock request was processed successfully.
Has there been any recent trade in promos that offer this up?
Have a few aging iphones but they all have some cracks on them.
I decided to try to hunt down any working phones to see if I could qualify for the Pixel 9 deal. Unfortunately, the only working phones I found are old:
OG Pixel - This one has a single crack on the screen. The battery is shot and it won't connect to a computer via USB.
Pixel 2 - Seems to be in proper working order
Pixel 3 (64GB) #1 - Seems to be in proper working order
Pixel 3 (64GB) #2 - Cracks on screen, but works fine.
Google is offering $160 for a Pixel 3 in working order (no cracks), but I would still have to spend $498 to get a Pixel 9.
Tmobile doesn't offer any value for any of these phones on a trade in.
Do I have any other options that don't involve adding a line if I want to upgrade any of these phones?
I thought I saw somewhere that it ran through 12/2 but I can't find that anymore. Also unsure if that means 12/2 would be last day of the promo or it is over starting on 12/2.
So its an oldbplan and the plan says unlimited 2g/3g On my phone settings, specifically there is an Allow 5g, and also a 2g switch. Should I have the allow 5g switched on or will it charge roaming?
I don't want to get a giant roaming bill 😅.
I got the text message T-Mobile: Welcome to ______! Your plan includes coverage that gives you unlimited data On Us now at faster speeds up to 256Kbps, plus unlimited texts at no extra cost! Calls are $0.25/min. Visit t-mo.co/intl-roam1 to learn more and view additional calling/data options. Enjoy your stay!
So yes, there's the usual trope of "I'll give you money if you just change this sim bro, just one more sim, just one more SIM card bro"
But there's also people that ask for things, you try and be nice and help them and do something fair, and they decide to screw you over $25.
A couple weeks ago someone here asked for the tvision hub. I had one, sealed and unused. I offered it for 25 bucks, a good deal. I don't need it, so might as well put it to good use.
Guy gives me a label, I want to be nice, tell him not to scam me and just give me $25 after he receives it. He says "I'm not a scammer! I for sure will!"
He gets the hub, says it works great, and... Doesn't pay.
I don't care about the $25. I was going to toss the thing eventually anyways. But it's the principle of the matter.
Moral of the story: don't be nice on reddit, don't listen to what someone says. They are scamming you, lol.
Just for fun, let's see if he responds here. He's frequently here on this forum and on the MetroPCS forum.

/u/lethaltoilet19, happy thanksgiving bro.
I have a relative that I help with this stuff, they want a 16 PM, they have magenta 55 plus - its the middle of the road magenta plan - and are aware they need Go5G Plus to get the promos (atleast thats what the tmobile store employee told her) if we change the plan today will it be "active" to go and get a promoed iPhone today, will this activation happen immediately if we do it via the web or app or is it only immediate if its in store?
Second, I always get my iPhones from Apple because I buy them outright, is there any benefit to going to the Apple Store and using the promo vs going to Tmobile?
Third how long is the promo active for, I kinda don't want to go an Apple Store or TMobile store on the weekend, because they are equally packed. But I will if I have to. I am aware they have to be with me.
Thanks!
