Hi I want to ask about the possibility of temporarily suspending my AT&T line while maintaining the lowest possible monthly charge during the suspension period. I understand that the cheapest plan is $50 per month, but since I am not planning to use the line at all for the next six months, I am hoping to find a more cost-effective option.
Thank you
I just ordered three phones and started the transfer of five total lines from Verizon to AT&T online. Everything went through, and I got the confirmation email. Five minutes later, I got another email saying they canceled my order because they couldn’t confirm it was me. It also said to take my ID and go to a store to reorder. Any ideas why that would happen? Is it because I haven’t uploaded proof that I’m a teacher for the teacher discount?
If I go to the AT&T store, will they be able to give me the online only promotions, like the $200 off new lines and $360 off for BYOD? That was my main motivation for ordering online. Also, AT&T store is almost an hour away.
I posted here about two months ago, asking about suspending service for a military deployment. And you guys pointed me to their military suspension which was helpful, so thanks. Anyways, fast forward to now and I'm finding it almost unlivable not having a U.S. phone number. I can't even do basic things like login to my email or banks, and I'm tired of haggling through chatbots to get companys to update my phone number or remove two factor authentication. Not to mention how hard it is to verify my identity.
I just now learned about Google Fi, and how they let you use your phone number overseas for military people on deployment. I wish I'd known prior, but I'm trying to do it now. I managed to actually pass their ID verification and didn't have any problems with starting it already overseas. What I am running into trouble with though is the number transfer.
I'm now learning that in order to transfer the number to Google Fi, I'd have to reactivate my line that's on military suspension, then transfer the number. My question is, from this point would they let me put the line back on military suspension until completion of deployment, or would I then have to completely cancel/suspend the line? At this point, I'm so frustrated that I'm willing to pay extra fees if necessary. I just want to make sure I'll be able to keep my number and rejoin my family plan once I return to the U.S.
i have 3 lines currently with the legacy HBO plan. would making 2 of those lines a different plan and the 1 line kept as the Legacy plan with HBO still keep me on the HBO or would all 3 have to be the HBO plan to keep HBO ?
I've had ATT fiber for at least a couple of years now and when it works it's lightning fast but it drops the connection like crazy sometimes. I used to have a lot of video meetings and whereas my old cable would just lag, ATT would kick me out completely, sometimes twice in a single five minute period more than once during a 2 hour meeting. Sometimes more than a dozen times. I've wasted at least 24 hours on chats with ATT over the course of multiple days and gotten nowhere. I had the gateway replaced and there was no improvement. I've been promised each time it would be fixed and it never has. I've just lived with it for a little while now and used my phone cellular connection when it wouldn't work to stream movies but tonight I can't even set up my new robot vacuum because my phone can't keep connected to the internet (like the Wifi will say connected to Wifi but no internet connection). My computer's had the same problem and I haven't even been consistently able to log into the ATT website tonight. I've rebooted the gateway twice and restarted all of my devices and it's still doing it. I previously elevated the gateway above the countertop level because a friend said that improved their issues, the power unit is 18 inches below the base of the unit itself which is another issue I'd seen cause problems on another thread. HELP! I'm completely ready to go back to Cox because it never dropped the connection even when it was slow
So had problems with my Razor 24+ and went to Apple Store online to get the iPhone 16 was wondering since I’ve had the Razr 24 plus for a couple days will ATT charge me for those days of use on the phone or will I just end up getting the tax money I spent for the phone? What can they really do since the 24 plus had problems like dropped calls and etc?? What would I have to pay back if anything at all?
Current family subscriber with 6 lines. Want to switch from S21 5Gs to iphones as suprise Christmas presents. Missed the BF Deals due to health reasons. Does ATT ever run Deals closer to Christmas? Right now they seemed to have dropped the S21 5G as a trade in option and I can't even hit continue button on my IMEI#. I was hoping for free phones after trade in. Seems like they had iphone pro deal that I missed for BF, and I'm sad now.
I had upgraded my iPhone 11 to the iPhone 15 Pro at an AT&T store. After using it for a few days, I realized I wasn’t happy with it and decided to exchange it. According to AT&T’s website, I should be able to walk into any AT&T-branded store to make an exchange.
Using the “Find a Store” tool on AT&T.com, I entered my zip code, and a list of local stores appeared. I called several of them, but every single one told me I could not exchange the phone there and would need to return to the original store where I made the purchase. Eventually, one store said they’d try to help, but when I got there, their system wouldn’t allow it either. The employee informed me I’d need to go to an AT&T corporate store to make the exchange if I didn’t want to return to the original store.
This experience was frustrating and confusing. Why does AT&T’s website say you can exchange at “any” branded store without clarifying the distinction between corporate stores and other types of stores? Even more frustrating, the “Find a Store” tool showed all the locations near me, none of which could process my exchange.
AT&T, please update the language on your website or add fine print to clarify the policy. Customers like me rely on the information provided, and this lack of transparency led to wasted time and effort.
So we transferred the account under my name last July, we had an ongoing phone installment, but around october we decided to pay it in full. Now we are paying like twice the amount, last payment we had to do was 1300+ it shows on my account transaction history but it keeps being paid on his old account which does nothave our numbers anymore. Anyone know what I could do?
Everything I read on ATT Video calling says it can be used between an Android and iPhone, but it never works. I have an Android and my family has iPhones. The video calling button shows up on my Android, but when I "video call" it only goes through as a voice call. How is ATT video calling suppose to work?
My parents pay $66 for 50 Mbps home internet (AT&T says this is the fastest speed for our area).
We have a data cap of 1536 GB a month (since we got rid of our TV/Internet package. Now if we go over our data cap we have to pay $10 for every 50GB we go over.
50 mbps sounds insanely low. I get 400 from Spectrum at my house. Is this only in certain areas?
I tried a lot of different things to get signal for my AT&T Line on iPhone 15 Pro Max in India. But, I am getting No Service. I contact AT&T Customer care and then couldn't solve the issue. I reinstalled the eSim multiple times. If I have to escalate the issue to the highest level of AT&T, how can I do It? I am so frustrated right now, because I wanted to get a OTP from a bank in US. I can't get that. The AT&T Customer care rep is telling me to use India's local service provider eSim. But, that doesn't solve my issue. Any help is appreciated
Anybody know where a list of these might be kept? There's a 27-month old CNET article with the following list but surely there are more devices available now..?
Samsung's Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 4
Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 4
Apple's iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max
Netgear's Nighthawk M6 and Nighthawk M6 Pro hotspots
Do I need to activate in order to setup a new iPhone? My 16 Pro just came in but I can’t activate until my T-Mobile expires in mid December. Will it let me bypass the eSIM process or does it force you to activate? Thanks.
Hi all,
My business was previously quoted for AT&T Fiber for our business located in a 12 story office building and we were interested, but we are now being told that the fiber for our building is at capacity.
Is there any way to reach someone about somehow expanding capacity? Comcast recently added service in the building, which is great, but they do not provide the fast upload speed my business requires. Dedicated fiber is too expensive since it would be at least 7x more expensive. The building has added a dozen new tenants this year, and it seems like it would make sense for them to add capacity, but I am having an impossible time reaching anyone about this.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Our WiFi has been working fine until last night. Our WiFi shut off randomly, our router shows that the broadband is a solid red. I had unplugged it, even reset it. But still have yet to have the WiFi come back on. Are there anymore things I can do before having someone come out here to look at it?
I need to check my bill and download a copy but I can't because I'm redirected to https://www.att.com.mx every time, from my phone, from my computer or else.
Please help.
12/1/24 got new iphone se 3rd gen that ended up being defective right outta the box. alotta work to get it to actually take a charge; then once it took a charge, it drained REALLY fast (went from 100% to 30% in about 7 hrs) w/ absolutely no use whatsoever; then lost all cell service (sos only) which ended up being no "e-sim"??. so now i have no cell phone while caring for my terminally ill 90 yr old father w/ dementia. returned to store the very next day (about 19 hrs or so) he was unable to help cuz mgr was off - told to return the following day. came back the following day & was told mgr still off. i told him i need a phone due to my father's health & medical issues. he tried to fix the se 3rd gen he sold me but was unable to do so. they did not have another se 3rd gen so he sold me an iphone 15 but said i owed a "$55 restocking fee!" seriously... for a defective phone right outta the box?? needless to say you guys had me over a barrel as i have to care for an elderly compromised parent - so i had no choice & took the iphone 15. look... this is not right! selling me a defective phone (which the at&T rep confirmed!) & then charging me a restocking fee is absurd & nonsensical! i believe you should reimburse me the $55 restocking fee because of #1. the phone was defective & #2. i didn't just return the phone & cut 'n run - i actually bought another one from you guys. i woulda bought the same but you did not have it in stock. i would appreciate you guys researching this & reimbursing me the $55. i have all the necessary info if you need it to do the work.
Has anyone else received their $100 Costco Gift Cards from the iPhone 16 Promo? We did the upgrade well over a month ago and have yet to receive any of our $100 Costco/Ship Gift Cards in the mail. Is there a phone number or process with which we can follow up? Thanks!
Wanted to share my absolutely ridiculous experience.
I ordered the Pixel 9 XL on black friday, including the free Pixel buds that come with a new pixel order. I received an email requesting ID verification, which I submitted immediately.
The next day my order still hadn't gone through, I was concerned so I called customer support, waited 2 hours (twice) and was disconnected both times. I eventually got through and was reassured that ID review takes 24 hours, not to worry, it would be fine.
A few hours later my order was entirely cancelled.
Then I messaged customer support (ref#17331818419107798) with my concern. At first I got the message 'do not worry, I'll recreate the order, it'll be totally fine'. Only for the charge to be $230 higher than it should be, customer support was attempting to charge me for the buds. I caught this, then customer support realized the mistake and pivoted to 'go to the physical store with your cancelled order, they'll be able to honor the promotion/order'. I asked specifically if it would be an online order issue, the feedback I got was 'No, that will not be an issue'.
So I go to the store the next day. Only to be told it was an online order only and they cannot honor it, but not to worry. Order the phone today, call the customer loyalty department and they can honor the promotion.
So the next day! I call customer loyalty dept, they say it is an online only promotion and they can't do anything about it. The only thing they can do is point me aaaaaaaall the way back to online order/chat and see if they can do anything about it.
I've gone full circle, wasted 6 hours of my life, and will probably just cancel my AT&T line. This is insane levels of customer mistreatment before I even have a phone in hand.
Had a tech come out to repair internet and apparently there was a sales person waiting out. Chatted with this person and was told I could get a good deal and well..
Signed up for wireless under the guise id get a deal along with my internet service only to get hit with a $200 solo phone bill. Now im getting calls ignored and no one knows what im talking about. Who do I even get in touch with to solve this, is there a higher up that can help? Can I even cancel and get my number back?
I was trying to move out of ATT to another provider but their Fraud Department is not allowing it to happen and they rude as fcuk and disconnect the calls even if you utter a single word different from what they want to hear and they will not give you any reasons and say they cannot continue the call. I have been having this account from the past 10 years. They ask you questions like what documents you submitted 10 years back or how many times you called the helpdesk if your answer is even wrong or even if you mispell words you are disconnected and they say either you answer the questions or stay with ATT keeping your number like in as hostage situation. So friends cancel your contracts before they make you go crazy. Like 10 years with ATT and they are showing us hell now.
I've had a corporate phone plan with AT&T for 10+ years, the only downside was that I had to buy my own devices.
My tenure at the company has come to an abrupt end - and I have 2 weeks to have them release the number and set up my own service account. I just bought a new iphone outright a few months back.
Is there a smarter financial play here vs just signing up for an unlimited plan? Is there anything special to "porting" a number from AT&T corporate to AT&T personal? Are there any pitfalls to trying to do this online vs in a store?
My priorities are 1) not losing my number which seems straightforward, and 2) not overpaying for service and 3) making sure I'm taking advantage of any promotions that would apply to my unusual (?) situation
People from India do not get into contract with ATT their wifi calling does not work in India and they will enable the international day pass or roaming which will jack you you bill above $1000 so dont get the ATT phone lines
So for the past 5-6 days, our hot spot devices disconnect randomly and them sometime take up to 5 minutes to reconnect. This happens 5-10 times from 6 AM to about 9 AM, but rest of the day it may only happen once, if at all.
We try our phone hot spot and it works just fine.
I called ATT and have a new SIM card coming thinking that could help but I am just out of ideas other than this, anyone know what could be causing this?
Only change is the cold weather 5 days ago but I am not sure this can effect anything. WE DO ONLY have 1 tower in our area, very rural!
