We needed some extra data this year so I moved my wife and daughter lines from unlimited starter to annual unlimited premium for a year. I'm on with support now and asked that at the end of the current annual unlimited premium plan, I'd like them both to renew at on the annual unlimited starter plan.
I'm told I can't do that as they won't downgrade an annual plan. This was never disclosed to me when support moved them both from the unlimited starter to the unlimited premium. Why the heck can't I renew on the plan I want for the data we need at the end of my current annual plan?
This makes no sense. I have my whole family on US Mobile and I'll start shopping for another provider if this is the case.
Is there any way around this to get them both back to Unlimited Starter at the annual renewal?
So first things first. We have 2 annual unlimited starter that were ported from T-Mobile with a few minor issues about a month ago or so. Overall their support is as always fantastic.
So me and my partner travel enough where having a international plan makes sense. We ported from TMO to warp not knowing that we would have international issues outside Mexico and Canada.
I texted support to check if warp was available to Colombia which I was told it was not. No big deal we will network transfer one line to Lightspeed and the other to Dark Star. Both network transfered work decently fast.
We landed in Colombia and the Dark Star phone worked flawlessly. The Light speed phone had SMS and Calling but no data. I did my due diligence and reset mobile settings. Reset APN as well as a good reboot. No love. Used the working phone to contact support and after some troubleshooting my APN settings were not auto detecting. Manually put in my settings and everything is working.
Some things I miss from TMO is that everytime we land at a international destination I get a SMS from TMO welcoming me to my destination and that I have x amount of data and calls. That would be a nice feature from USM confirming everything is working on their end.
Anyway the data in Colombia was decently fast on both networks as the same with coverage was almost identical. Thanks for support for recognizing the issue, but I wish when I contacted before they could have given me a heads up that this could happen.
I have warp and I am showing i have roaming on my dashboard on the website.it shows 10 gig 500 text 500 talk is that just if I go to Canada and or Mexico or can I use that if when I go to UK? Just wondering
By way I'm using Samsung Z FOLD 4
Edit: I hope this makes sense to yall if not then I'm sorry
So I was trying to group call my wife and son, but I couldn’t and I’m on the dark star network. I was talking to my son and I wanted to add my wife and group call but dark star don’t let me do that. I don’t know if lightspeed does the same. I know it cannot be my phone. I have an iPhone 12 Pro and I know I have done it with other carriers but recently I switched over to dark star and as I was trying tohave multiple people on my line, it doesn’t let me merge the call if I want if I want the phone with my son, I’m trying to merge the call when I call my wife and it doesn’t let me
I’m considering switching from Verizon to US Mobile, and security is a big priority for me. Verizon offers account PINs and SIM locks, and it looks like US Mobile has similar protections, including:
• Never SIM Swap: Blocks all SIM swaps unless extra verification is completed.
• No Port Out: Prevents number porting unless approved after additional verification.
• Account Lockdown: A full security measure to prevent unauthorized changes.
Blog: https://www.usmobile.com/blog/making-the-most-secure-cell-phone-carrier-even-more-secure/
Has anyone actually used these protections?
What does “more extensive verification” mean? What exactly does a support agent ask for before allowing changes?
TL;DR advice going U1 from U on a presumably unlocked Samsung for OTA updates outside USA but scared of Bootloops and Knox.
Hi, I have an s24 Ultra SM-S928U that my uncle bought from the states. Now, he does not know much about phones.
When I first put in my SIM card, my local network started working. However when I checked IMEI (matches the box as well), the imei.info shows that this phone is from TMobile carrier. It did not show locked or unlocked (but I assume the device is unlocked because I can use any SIM I want and Knox is not tripper and software status is "official". I also found a Tmobile pamphlet inside the box. But I do not find any sort or bloatware from Tmobile. Not even a single option or logo at boot.
However, currently I am stuck on November 1, 2024 patch. I have checked and almost everyone is on some later patch but mine shows as everything is upto date.
Upon some reasearch, I found out that I may not get updates as the phone is a U variant which is being used outside the States. The only way is to flash a U1 firmware.
Now I also searched and my details are:
Main version BL: S928USQS4AXJA AP : S928USQS4AXJA CP : S928USQS4AXJA CSC: S928UOYN4AXJA RF Cal : 2023.12.18 HW Rev : REV1.0
Now this CSC belongs in general to all carriers. Moreoever my SW REV or BIT version is 4 as seen from here.
Now, if I go to websites like Samfw or other sites, I see lots of variants including TMB, ATT, XAA. Now first I thought I should go with TMB U1 (same BIT version as bootloader can't be downgraded). But It seems my current phone is running XAA but there is no way of knowing.
Now If I use patched Odin, and flash XAA or TMB, will I run into a bricked device if I choose a wrong one (between XAA or TMB). Note that I plan to use the exact same bootloader version and security patch when going to U1 from U.
Some people on XDA have suggested that the carries are interchangeable. But I'm skeptical. I really want the updates to come automatically outside US.
I just want to know if I can change from U to U1 without tripping Knox and without causing permanent bricking. I have a stable internet connection, original USB cable and stable electricity connection to Laptop.
Someone PLEASE help me if you can. I will he very very grateful. I am also willing to answer any further questions and give more details.
I’m just curious why USM is not that much competitive when it comes to promotions against other MVNOs? Like you have Visible running a $35 price promo (for truly unlimited data as opposed to 1Mbps), Mint Mobile and Cricket got their own promos too. This makes customers got for the best promotions since USM is not willing to compete for customers. I feel the company is like “Take it or go somewhere else”
Had to jump over to light speed because us mobile doesn't allow one plus 13 into the system
I currently use AT&T, both wireless (phone and tablet), and home Internet (13mbps - and, nope, that's not a typo - it's actually only 13mbps - wired connection to my PC). I'm paying about $75 for the wireless and $70 for the internet. I am looking to ditch all of it for US Mobile plans (phone + tablet, tethered to my PC for home internet), but needed to clarify some assumptions I'm making. I'm looking to cut my expenses here, not create more or, even, be the same if possible. Part of the problem is, AT&T doesn't track my usage data on my internet so I have absolutely no idea how much data I use. In the 2-ish days since I've been tracking it, I've used a little over 2.5gb ...a very small time sample, but all I got right now. Based on that, I'm going to guesstimate 60gb per month.
I'm looking at getting the Unlimited Premium for both phone and tablet - 100gb hotspot (pooled) for $88. I don't really need the calls/text/etc bells and whistles for the tablet, it will only be tethered to my PC for it's internet connection. Not saving as much as I'd like to, but not terrible considering I'm also upgrading the speed of my PC connection significantly.
I guess my questions here are, would this hotspot configuration be allowed? Does "pooling" lines work like I think it does where the entire 100gb would be available to my tablet for use with my PC? And, can anyone think of a better/cheaper solution I might be missing? The only other option I thought of was Unlimited Premium on my phone and a 20gb By The Gig (which I'm assuming ALL of which is available to hotspot?) for my tablet - that would be 70gb hotspot for $79. Cheaper, but seems like getting another 30gb for $9 is a no brainer.
I may or may not use all of that and will adjust as needed ...I'm assuming I can upgrade/downgrade my line plans on the fly if paying by month? I'm retired so most of my internet use is on my PC at home so hotspot data allowance is the priority.
Wondering, when is RCS support is coming to Dark Star and lightspeed?
I had to switch back from Dark Star to Warp to get RCS messaging to work properly. I prefer using Dark Star but cannot because RCS doesn’t work.
Edit: I am on iPhone
Just started my first USM line. I selected Light Speed network. Using eSim.
Line is working for calls / texting but it's not showing WiFi calling in the status bar. Previously I had T-mobile and it would indicate WiFi calling was active.
Using S24U if that matters. Am I missing something? Should it show WiFi calling active in the status bar? Customer support enabled it and it doesn't show any error in settings.
If i wanted to get a new phone how would I do that and where would I go to get one. Does it have to be an unlocked phone.
Hello, I just recently switched over to warp on a Samsung 24 Ultra phone. It also has been recently updated to android 15.
I have noticed the data speed was slower (2 mbps down, 0.5 mpbs up) than the previous network, Light speed, and visual voicemail disappeared from my phone. I was wondering if someone can help me with reprovisioning my line for these two purposes.
The idea to ask for visual voicemail reprovisioning was from this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/USMobile/comments/1hv8zw8/visual_voicemail_still_not_working_with_warp/
I just saw an ad that Verizon now supports texting via satellite in rural dead zones. Do us warp users have/will receive access to this?
I’m going to Mexico next week for six days. I’m currently on the unlimited starter monthly plan on warp.
I’m curious what the best way would be to get international calling while I am there.
Would it be better to switch to unlimited premium monthly for a month and switch to lightspeed? if so, it seems like it is trying to charge me $44 when I still have 21 days left of this month. If I do go this route, am I refunded for the remaining amount of time on the unlimited starter plan?
Or would it be better to switch to light speed and add the international add-on?
From what I can tell, that would cost me $15 for a less amount of data versus just upgrading to unlimited premium for a month which would cost $19 but would come with substantially more data, minutes, and texts.
I’ve chatted about 10 times with customer service on activating my watch plan. I semi-regularly teleport for signal due to travel. Every time I move from Warp (w/ Apple Watch companion plan) and back to Warp, my watch continues to show in my account and will not allow me to activate. I have had about 10-15 chats with real but they just keep trying to push an eSIM, which does not activate.
I have had the plan on this watch about 2-3 times. In the past, the rep had to manually remove from Verizon’s rolls. Unfortunately, no rep since that one has been able to figure this out. Any tips?
Edit: Malak and FixitMir have helped get me set up. Truly appreciate the support! Consider it closed!
Has anyone encountered this issue and have a resolution?
Hi, I'm trying to submit an insurance claim but it is requesting proof of my device on my account and I'm not seeing that information anywhere. Is there a way I can obtain this? I tried chatting with support but they claim they cannot provide me with any information regarding my account.
UPDATE: Thank you /u/FititMir for helping me obtain the documentaion I needed.
I'm trying to start the free trial on my Pixel 6 (model G9S9B) using eSIM.
For both of my device IMEIs, I get Error DE106: "Looks like this device is not compatible with Warp. Please continue activation with another one of our eSIM offerings."
I have been using this device on Verizon since late 2021 so it seems to be compatible with Warp (Verizon). I purchased the device unlocked, new in person at a local Best Buy. It was activated by swapping over the Verizon SIM from my previous device. To the best of my knowledge, the device is not on any locked/lost/stolen lists.
Could a US Mobile rep get in touch? I'm happy to send over IMEIs and any other required info not already provided.
I'd like to narrow down the possible issues before contacting Verizon. I've been with them on the same number since 2007 so I wouldn't be surprised if there are weird legacy settings they have to fix. I'd love to avoid an afternoon on the phone with them if possible, and posting here seemed potentially useful for other users in the future.
Im currently in Barbados, activated Roaming with Lightspeed before leaving US (i have the unlimited premium plan) first day i was able to call perfectly, i did not need to call until today. I get a message saying my account has been barred from making calls. Ive been with support and they have not helped me, not only they did not help me, i was instructed to delete my esim and install a new one, and now not even wifi calling works!!! This is crazy! My friend who is with me in the trip has tmobile and he is able to call without a problem, they are teying to tell me is a coverage issue when its not
Hello I have a family of five I'd like to switch over to US Mobile. We use less than 10 gb per month across all devices. We are currently on Verizon and would like to stay with that backbone (warp speed I believe?).
What would be best to go with?
Are there any family plan like deals?
Would I have to pay the annual fee of $210 for each of the five lines? (210*5)
Any help would be greatly appreciated in helping us get from big red.
I switched over to USM (Warp) from AT&T a few months ago and love it. My wife currently has AT&T for both her iPhone and Apple Watch (cellular). We realize she needs to port her phone number to Verizon (Warp) in order to also have a companion plan for her watch. However, she wants to be able to leave her phone home for short jaunts, like a run or shopping, and have calls/text/etc that are sent to her phone number show up on her watch while she's away from her phone. She will not switch over until she's assured that will work like it does now with AT&T. However, we've had several chats with USM support that keep telling her that her phone have to be paired via bluetooth or wifi for the watch to receive calls to her phone number - if they are too far apart, the watch won't get the calls. This is ludicrous.
So, today I got on to chat to see if I could explain it better to the agent and got the same ridiculous response. Here's a short clip of our too long chat:
"M. Ahmad
Ok, her phone number is with AT&T right now?
correct and we understand you only support the watch on Verizon. She would be switching both her phone and watch to Verizon.
M. Ahmad
Yes, you have to transfer your line on warp network with us then she will be able to use the Apple watch with us.
understood.....what she is getting conflicting info on is whether or not she has to carry her phone with her all the time or it has to be close enough to the watch to be within bluetooth or wifi range of each other - which is stupid
14 minutes ago
M. Ahmad
Ok, then i recoommand you to activate your watch on standalone mode then.
you guys need to get your understanding of how an iPhone and Apple Watch "pair"....your standalone watch plan means the watch has a separate phone number. This is true on AT&T too - BUT - AT&T does something behind the scenes that pair the phone and watch together so that they both use the PHONE'S number - the separate watch number is for all intents and purposes non-functional (if you try to call the watch number it won't connect).
I'm sure Verizon has the same feature, but maybe you guys don't?

M. Ahmad
Ok, please tell me you want to use the same number on your apple watch?
yes - we want both devices to respond to calls to a single number (the phones')
M. Ahmad
Ok, then you have to transfer your number to us on warp network which is powered by Verizon and then you have to activate your watch on companion mode and if you buy a premium plan on your line then you can get free companion plan for your apple watch you can not be able to use companion mode without transferring your line.
I know that both devices have to be on Warp....
however, she's being told by a rep that both devices need to be within either bluetooth or wifi range of each other to use the same number.
which means you can't go shopping or on a run and leave your phone home
1 minute ago
M. Ahmad
No, you will not be able to use apple watch when your phone at home."
That last line is what she's been told over and over by chat agents...which contradicts the description of the video on the Watch Plan page which says "An Apple Watch plan lets you leave your phone at home for a quick step out, to go on a run, hike, or swim, or just to have some time offline and distraction-free. Without losing touch"
She's not real impressed so far that her watch and phone will work seamlessly on USM/Warp like they do currently on AT&T for her. We could save a lot of money by moving to USM - but the chat agents aren't making it possible. So - what's the correct story??? Thanks
Total technophobe here - I'm based in the uk, have an iPhone 14 and a UK SIM card/number. To cut a long story short one of my credit cards is American and when I make purchases in the uk it asks for a code (which is sent to the phone). Capital One will not allow a UK phone number to be attached to this American card. So the only work around I can think of is somehow getting an American number for this purpose only, but I don't want to buy an entire handset to do so.
Is there any way I can attach a secondary US SIM card with number that would be able to recieve SMS messages to my UK (1 SIM card slot) iphone. Or any other ideas. Having just spoken to capital one they have said I can also verify payments on the app but the initial app set up needs to be done in the US (but, I'm currently in the uk).
Hope that makes sense - many thanks!
Can I get assistance with a home phone activation? I'm trying to port a phone number to usmobile.
You will wonder why no matter what plan you pay for or how much data you actually use about ten days before your data resets every 30 days you are throttled to 1mbps. It's because they spike your usage numbers. Look for a day with double the normal in data on website. See where you were that day and if you were connected to wifi most of the day. Bet you were. This company is shady.
Hi. In the process of migrating 7 lines over.
Can a number share Apple Watch plan be added to a phone on the pooled By the Gig plan?
Does anyone know why my iPhone 16 says my sim does not supports 5g standalone , and how to fix it. I am on warp.
I just got the S25 ultra. I connected with US MOBILE immediately upon inserting my old sim card from my S24. I'm on WARP (Verizon) and the phone indicated that satellite SOS communication would work for me during the initial startup. Plus I am able to run through the satellite communication demo on the phone. Does this mean that I actually can take advantage of Verizon's satellite service? (I can't test this in real life until I have to make an emergency communication from an area without cell service.)
Like really basic stuff supported on the other carriers. I've had to start moving all of my numbers to Cricket.
