I use an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and other than some battery degradation it’s still a great device and in great condition. I considered trading it in this year because I want to trade it in while it still has value (before it becomes worthless). That said, I’ve noticed all the best current trade deals apply to iPhones as old as iPhones 11, so I figure it should retain its value for another year or two. What’s the sweet spot to get the most value out of an IPhone Pro Max trade (3 yrs, 5yrs, longer)? Will I still be eligible for the max trade value on iPhone 17 or even 18?
Swear everyone that knows what's up has called me a drug addict now I address my addiction... Swear it's funny as fuck even hooked up at a secret Santa from the girl I think is a fox
So for a little bit of context, my wife and I are on AT&T currently, we currently pay about $130 a month for two phones. Her Samsung S22 is paid off, but still paying on the next up. My S23 Ultra is still being paid off, has over $500 to go still. Question is, we are really getting tired of AT&T, the whole next up thing is a complete load of trash, and even though her phone is paid off, she still has to pay over $130 for the next 5 months to get a new phone, or pay it off. Here's the kicker, they only let you get that steep discount IF you go with next up, and starting the whole process again. I've been with all the companies in the past, but AT&T is really annoying us. Is there a better option? We both have decent service, and my wife has a nurses discount through AT&T. I'm wondering if it's worth it to look into either T-Mobile or Verizon, or just stick it out?
Hey All!
I currently have a OnePlus Nord N30 5G and it's ok. I've had it for about a year, scuffed up the screen, and the camera isn't really what I want. I'm trying to justify buying the Pixel 8a. Someone convince me to buy it and switch!
I am looking to get a second phone number for a business I am opening and I had a few questions.
First, when someone calls this new number does it show up differently when I receive the call so I know to answer the phone differently?
Second, is this quite a simple process that can be canceled at any time?
Thank you for your inputs!
My daughters phone shows this “1” in the battery icon. And the phone wont charge. Its not the battery-% cause that shows up with a “%” behind the number.
Do you know Whats wrong? I cannot find anything at google.
Thanks 🙏🏼
Hello, I am in Canada and I am hoping someone might be able to tell me the best way to get my kids on a cell plan.
I am in the process of switching phone companies. I am currently hoping to get my kids onto my plan. I have old cell phones I plan to let them use. I mostly want them to be able to call or text when they're going to a friend's or something like that. What is the best way to get a plan that hopefully doesn't cost me $200 a month for three cell phones? Is there a way to just have them share my data? Help please
Good Evening and happy Thanksgiving to 🇺🇸 on here.
So I have a problem I am looking for a good budget phone 150$ CDN or around there. My problem is I have tiny hands 😆 I have been using the Galaxy A14 it's huge and Heavy. Anyone know of any unlocked prepaid phones that are like 6.2 or under screen size that is affordable but good. Samsung preferred.
Thanks.
Hi all! So for few more days there's black Friday deals in my country and I am looking for a new phone. There are few that I am considering, but I don't know much about phones. So maybe you can help me, would appreciate it! The options are:
Samsung galaxy S23 (128gb) Price €499
Samdung galaxy A55 (128gb) Price €359
iPhone 13 (128gb) Price €569
Nothing phone 2a (256gb) Price €333
I will primarily be taking photos and videos for social media, watching YouTube and using it as GPS device when hiking. So decent battery life is a plus. I don't care about storage as I will store everything in cloud anyway.
I buy abandoned storage units and come by a lot of cellphones. Is there any way to get past the pass code lock on these phones. I've tried doing factory resets but still ask for password.
Hi!! I know there are better options but right now i can only choose between those two products: Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 and Samsung Galaxy A05.
I intend to use them just for social media and communication (calls, whatsapp, etc) so i don't really care of heavy performance. However i've seen a lot of bad reviews particularly about redmi note 12. So it would be awesone if someone can give an opinion about it. Thanks!

I'm trying to decide between the Poco F6, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Poco X6 Pro. I play games occasionally (some TFT, rarely maybe PUBG) and don't really take too many pictures. Still I have trouble deciding between the better camera of the Redmi and better processor of the F6 with promised AI benefits. Currently the Redmi and X6 Pro are on Amazon for around 260€, while the F6 is around 315€. I've been using the X3 for the last 3+ years and have been fairly satisfied. Please help. 🥲
I recently updated from iOS 17 to 18, and since then all my voicemails are being transcribed, and the transcripts are being added to the VM notification. My voicemails were not being transcribed at all on iOS 17.
Honestly, I don't really want the phone to transcribe voicemails at all. If I don't have a choice in that regard, then I don't want the transcription added to the notification. And I really don't want it to show me spam VM transcripts in the notifications. Does anyone know how to turn off either aspect?
I have already turned off Live Voicemail and it didn't help. These are carrier voicemails that are being downloaded and transcribed by the Phone app.
Thanks!
So, I’m exchanging my iPhone 16 Pro Max because I’m more of an Android fan. I’m stuck between getting the Samsung S24 Ultra (I had one before and loved it) or the Pixel Fold Pro (I love the Pixel UI, but never had their fold). Any advice experience and usage, would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks!
Thinking of switching from iPhone to Motorola and the razr really caught my eye wanna know if it’s worth it ?
I bought a Galaxy from an ebay seller who said it was unlocked. It is not. It is locked to Xfinity, but Xfinity shows no information for the phone.
I'm in a jam because my regular phone just died and I am counting on this phone to work. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm looking to upgrade my phone and in doing so, I'll have to get an entirely new plan. I know a bunch of cell phone companies say they have black friday deals right now, but I've heard from a friend to wait at least until the actual black Friday when they all have the best deals. Is this true? Also, I'm leaning towards switching from Telus because ever since switching to them 6 months ago, I have the worst mobile data. Even if I have full bars it will say I have no data and nothing loads. Anyone else experience this? Who do you recommend, especial in rural areas. Thanks!
Hi,
I recently ordered one of those micro Xiaomi SD cards at a very very low price for my new phone. I just learned that the real space I will be able to use won't be the one expected lol
Do you know any app to check the real space and how healthy SD card will be? Maybe I decide to keep it if I realise it still has some decent space.
On the PC there is an app called ValiDrive, do you know any android app to do the same?
Thanks in advance!
I have an Alcatel Joy Tab 2 tablet (Android Tablet) with my current phone number on it. I lost the tablet 6 months ago, but it's still in my house (somewhere).
Fast forward to today, I just bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S20 (Android phone) with no device plan.
When I get the new phone, how do I transfer my tablet's number to my new phone?
Hi guys! Been thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I'm usually seeing deals from carriers tho, and I want an unlocked unit since I currently already have a no device plan. Any ideas where I can get an unlocked Samsung phone at a discount? Thanks!

i'm a verizon user, i still have a grandfathered unlimited data plan that i used to use with foxfi on my 3g phone. this was used to provide internet for my tablets and game consoles. as cell tech has advanced foxfi has fallen to the wasyside and no longer works due to newer phone operating systems.
BIG Shout out to FoxFi company for a great long lasting product. i'd still be using it if i could
now the area i live is is pushing 5g with 4g as default, it tends to fluctuate all day.
i have a samsung s42 currently, but i'm in search of a new cell phone that is compatible on the 4g/5g network, that does work on verizon and has a program that i can utilize my unlimited data as a hotspot.
due to my grandfathered data plan, verizon will not authorize a paid hot spot on my phone, i've tried several times at several different stores
any assistance is appreciated
I am new to cell phones. I've only had a cell phone for 2 years and 4 months. I'm with T Mobile, and have the Samsung S20 FE. I want to get the new S24+. I don't know why it has to be so complicated. When I got my first cell phone, I just walked in, and got a "free" phone, and walked out happy. Now I'm comparing cell phone plans, and my head is swimming. I'm thinking about staying with T Mobile. I can get an unlimited plan for $75 per month. Plus they will give me $800 trade-in value on my S20. The S24+ goes for $1000. So that's a $200 difference, which I will pay 8.33 a month for 24 months. Is this a good deal? Verizon is offering something different on their S24+. I can keep my old phone (it's only worth $40, not sure what I would do with it). Their unlimited plan is $70 a month (after a $10 auto-pay discount), plus $5 a month for the phone for 36 months. This sounds like the better deal, but not by a whole lot.
Can anyone identify this phone by the x-ray? Not sure which side is the top. I did not the large and unique looking microphone/speaker grill.
Thanks in advance!
I sat down looking at my trucks dashboard. I then glanced over at the radio and thought how cool it would be to have some kind of tablet instead of a clunky radio. Then I thought about how I can provide said tablet with internet. I could get a mobile hotspot. But that would make it complicated. I like to simplify things as much as possible. And on top of that, I would have to get a SIM card anyway, so why not just get a SIM ready tablet?
Hey we’re getting somewhere, I thought.
But then I started thinking about the SIM card. What if you wanted to change carriers? Now you have to take apart the whole dash to change the SIM. Or what if you wanted to sell the truck? Now the next owner would potentially have to take apart the whole dash.
I started the ol’ Google machine to look for answers.
The question is this:
Does a royalty-free/brandless/unlocked/standalone/blank SIM card exist, where all you would have to do is provide the next carrier with the ICC number (or something) and leave the current SIM in the tablet without having to change it?
Like, instead of changing the SIM card from Verizon to T-Mobile or from Sprint to Straight Talk, etc, etc, etc, why can’t the carrier just input the ICC number and use my SIM card with their service?
I mean, say you wanted to open a phone service company. You’re not going to go to your nearest AT&T and buy 200,000 SIM cards from them. You’re obviously going to get blank SIM cards and then program them remotely to work with your service.
So it begs the question: why can’t Mr. Average Joe buy a blank SIM and just have whatever carrier program it remotely to work with whatever service he chooses to?
Sure, I understand companies use their own SIMs to try to be the biggest monopoly, but why can’t it work the other way around?
I’ve searched and searched for a blank SIM card using several different phrases and nothing is coming up.
(didn’t try the phrase “blank” as it just popped up in my head, and lo and behold, I found them)
But now what? I buy a 5 pack for a few dollars and then what? Would it still work the way I’m imagining it?
I’ve tried doing research but to no avail. I see these are “programmable”, but how? What? Where? Who?
I feel I’m just opening a can of more questions here.
I want a flip phone with : 4g Wifi hotspot A browser Who can work in France. What do you suggest to me ?
Looking for a durable phone within a reasonable budget max 300$, still good for low-end gaming but can last for a long time (easy to repair / after sales). If not, any tips for a durable case? I can't stop dropping my phones. 120hz is nice but not necessary, a mediocore camera is enough.
Hi.
I need a recommendation for a cellphone for my mom who lives 16 miles straight line from nearest ATT cell tower.
my mom lives way out in the middle of nowhere where Septic Slough empties into Great Toxics Swamps. The landline phone company discontinued service out there last year. Not that it was worth paying for in the first place. And of course she's not going to move.
I'm on an ATT GSM plan. My coverage when I'm there is 0-1 bars, and operationally spotty. I drove around using a couple of apps to see what the cellphone towers were and that's how I found out where the ATT tower was.
My phone is one of the discounted second hand oneplus 2003 Nord phones. Pretty cheap but it's fine for my uses. Most of the time. I know that there are better phones with better transceivers and antenna so if anyone has known good suggestions for such a phone I'd like to get it for her and add it to my plan. I'd really prefer one that's unlocked and that I can get root on, that I can load something like lineageOS or AOSP or similar on, or just has the basic Android that doesn't have any crapware or spyware on it. I guess I could get her an iphone if that's the best choice, but that sure wouldn't be my first choice since I know nothing about those and I don't want to get locked in as a cash cow in Apple's eco-system.
Thanks for listening.
I'm a bit of an outlier when it comes to technology - I've been using a 14-year-old Galaxy S2 and a Galaxy S4 for emergency use only. My phone habits are pretty simple: powered off with the battery removed most days.
However, my workplace has just introduced new security requirements, forcing me to use Duo Authenticator and Signal for messaging. This means I need a new phone that can handle these apps.
I've researched affordable phone plans in Ontario, Canada, and found a 4G plan that fits my needs.
Here's where I'm stuck: I have no idea what phone to buy at a decent price! In the past, I've always managed with discounted phones costing less than $100. The thought of shelling out $800 for a new phone is just extortionate, don't you think?
So, fellow Redditors, please help me out!
**Can anyone recommend phones in the $300 price range that would be suitable for my needs?**
TL;DR: I've been keeping my phone off most days, but now I need a device that can run these new apps. Help me find an affordable solution!
