Hey! Looking for connections to fellow sport climbers in the area, I’ve submitted info requests to the climbing gym being built and the climb Maui website. I’m leading up to 5.10c so far. Figured I’d drop something in here as well.
I want to get a tattoo. I know there are plenty of artists here that can do nice tribals but are there any artists who can do really nice black and grey tattoos as well? More specifically I want to get a gladiator tattoo on my forearm and am wondering if there is anyone in Maui who has the skills for that or should I travel? I’ve attached a photo, what I want isn’t this but it’s just a general idea. Thank you 🤙🏼
Does anyone have any childcare leads in/near Kihei? For a 2.5 year old, so not yet 3 and not yet potty trained
I’m looking for a 2.5mm to 3.5mm headphone jack cable, :) there’s none at the stores and I’m looking to try my headphones on my laptop
Do any Maui tattoo shops take part in Friday 13th “flash” tradition?
Does anyone know anywhere that sells popmart figures just stopped by hot topic and they don’t have any
Anyone else smell a fire in Kihei? Anyone know what it’s from?
Edit: it was in South Kihei but the smell is gone now
Something stung me today while swimming at Kam II. I started feeling electrical sensation in different parts of my body and then noticed that was tangled into what seemed to be very thin transparent thread. Was it a jellyfish tentacle? I didn’t have goggles, so couldn’t see under water what it was. I’ve been coming to Maui for the past 20 years and lived here for half a year during covid, but never experienced anything like that.
Or is it possible? I’m 23 born and raised.
Bird flu has been confirmed on the Big Island. Make sure you know where any chicken you buy comes from.

I realize Amazon might be my best bet but wanted to check in see if anybody local sells these.
Aloha - My husband and I are unfortunately dealing with a terrible landlord and are looking for legal help. Luckily we’ve moved out, but we are still facing problems from them. We’ve tried the hotline and got some good advice, but they told us our case is complicated and we’d need more assistance than they can give. Does anyone know of any lawyers taking clients pro bono for tenant rights?
We are thankful for any and all information and help🙏 Mahalo
Aloha,
Target used to sell small plants that were ok to take to mainland. I remember they had plumeria and others but now it looks like they don’t have any. Does anyone know where I can get these, other than at the airport after security?
Mahalo!
Maria Lanakila will reopen on 12-11-2024, with Mass by the Bishop. I'm not a religious person--but I find this to be such wonderful news for the Lahaina community. The church is a landmark for many, many generations of all races and creeds. I've been to weddings, funerals, baptisms, and confirmations there.
The different choirs are outstanding, and the priests there "went to the mat" many years ago to keep Hula and Hawaiian language in the services. They won, and it helped spread understanding and respect for Hawaiian traditions and language. Here's an article about the fight. I'd forgotten it was in 1998! The acoustics are also wonderful there.

Looking for recommendations! Particularly in Kahului or Kihei
What are they?
