Hello, I have a 2020 Hyundai Elantra and it has 77k miles. I’m the second owner and I bought this vehicle from a Nissan dealership. If I take it to any Hyundai dealer will they fix the transmission for free? I’ve heard about their 10 year power train warranty included on all purchase of vehicles.
Thank you!
I have a 2014 Elantra and the headlights will not turn on unless the engine is on. Before I could turn them on either with the car off or in the accessories position. Can someone explain what might be causing this? The engine was replaced around the time this started happening if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help.
Hey everyone,
I think I hit something whilst on the road today, so my splash shield was half off, so I had to take it off.
As you can see it's in pretty rough condition.
First question, is it better to just get a new one? If so, any ideas where to get one that's affordable?
Second question, I live in Southern Ontario, Canada so I'm wondering about the salt used on roads if that'll affect the car underneath and how quick that'll happen?
I'm curious if it's fine if I don't get one or not
Thank you very much
Hi everyone, hope you're having a good day. I had a quick question about my lease buyout. I've gotten approved from Chase for an auto loan, but it says that the next steps are to work with the dealer to get the documentation. When I called the dealership to ask about next steps, they said they can work with me, but they'll charge a $2000 processing fee (which I feel is bs)
I know that I can make a payment for the lease buyout on the HMFUSA website but that's if I'm paying all cash. Does anyone have any experience with doing a lease buyout using external financing from the bank and not having to work with the dealership who is wanting to charge an exorbitant fee? I'd like to just work with HMFUSA and Chase directly.
Hyundai accent 2022
Check engine light came on and then it started beeping at me while driving. Suddenly started to over heat. Got it towed to Hyundai. Not sure what to expect?
Recently went to look at a 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited. Is this a good price or could I do better?
My sister's 2017 Elantra GT has about 102k miles. It's honestly been solid. Nothing has gone wrong and we've only put a set of tires, new brakes and new cats (because of burglary) into it. I've figured it has had some type of oil burn for a while but it seems it's gotten worse. My sister works hybrid so she barely drives. In the last 2k miles, I've had to add 1.5 qts of oil. Before that, about 3.5 qts in 4k miles. I know this will not pass the test for an engine replacement or will it?
A new car is honestly out of the picture right now as she's focusing on wanting to buy a house and beefing up her savings and she's attached to that car. I'm still gathering data to get a real gauge on how bad the oil burn is but I worry it will get so bad that the engine will grenade itself.
2022 Hyundai kona base At 29k km Noticed going from first to second there is the smallest of jerkiness. Also noticed when starting up the car, sometimes it takes half an extra second. Not sure if related.
But I’ve seen on here and forums about Hyundai transmission. No lights on dash but I’m scared this will be an issue moving forward.
Guessing this is a known issue and covered by warranty?
Always had old cars since I’ve had a license, talk about an upgrade! Finally got screens, 4 doors for the first time and so much more, definitely feeling blessed! Everyone stay safe out there! 😎
Ive had two elantras in the last 10 years and looking to switch up my Hyundai.
2024 SEL FWD with 7970 miles for $24300
2024 SEL AWD with 29470 miles for $22900
I live in Boston so we get some snow sometimes so the AWD might not be as necessary. However the AWD would be nice to have in case I need it. But the AWD has almost 30k miles in a year which is double the average per year. Would it be worth it still to get the higher mile Tucson since its $1400 cheaper?
I was looking under my car and I saw this sort of buildup on the driver side. Does anyone know what this is?
So I have a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. I started it up this morning , it’s started up but started idling aggressively for no reason and it was fine yesterday so I just turned it off then turned it back on and now it’s been doing this all morning . Me and my friend figured it could be my battery and that I need a new battery but idk I did get it to turn on once I put the jump box on but when I tried it my Car turned off and basically drained my jump box and when I went to charge it again it starting to light up red. Can’t be spark plugs because I had those put in 2 weeks ago. New coil packs and new starter months ago . If anyone knows what’s going on lmk
Hi all,
I see there are a whole lot of really knowlegable people on this platform and I would like to ask something for which I didnt find a answer anywhere.
I have a Hyundai Elentra - SE, 2017 model. Very recently I have started facing a issue with the key-master cylinder area.
Whenever I start the car and press on the knob on the gear shifter, I hear a clicking noise near the key master cylinder. Functionality wise, there is no other problem. Once the car starts and is out of "P" that sound stops coming untill I put the gear backin Park mode. Also for some reason, once the car has run a little bit then when I put the car in "Park" mode and then press the knob then the sound reduces, just a little bit though.
I had seen in a very short reel that it could be a relay/solenoid near the master cylinder that is stuck.
I would really appreciate it if any one of you could let me know what the exact problem is and if I can fix it myself.
Thanks a lot.
I had a Hyundai Tucson with just over 100k miles. On my way home from an hour drive my motor went out and I was stuck on side of the road. When I towed to repair shop they told me this has been happening to a lot of Hyundais in this year range. They said Hyundai will pay for repair since it’s so common.. When I called Hyundai they said there’s nothing they can do. Is this true??
I already traded my vehicle in for a new one, but feel I was screwed as I had $6,000 left on my loan that I had to pay off
I am going to take it in tomorrow see what my local dealer tells me
My Elantra Hybrid’s front brakes and rotors are up for maintenance and the following question came up in my mind: Since this car has regenerative breaking, are the brake pads/rotors any different than a regular car? Do hybrids with regenerative braking have special break pads? Along with that, is it normal for cars with regenerative braking to have brake pads last a bit longer? I drive quite a bit and they only recently began to get to 2/3 mm after about 75k miles.
Original owner of a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD V6. It’s got about 192,000 miles on it.
We’re at a decision point with this car. After some recent repairs, the mechanic says if we want it to run a few more years it really needs about $3k to fix the suspension and a few other things. It’s driving fine at the moment, but basically these issues are weakening everything else (i.e. had to replace a cracked axle earlier this year).
I don’t want to throw good money after bad, and it’s certainly not worth much…. but seeing the prices of new or even low-mileage used right now, I’m really wondering if it’s worth the repair anyway.
The car is paid off, I still like the way it drives, and it’s the right size for our family. Cosmetically it’s a piece of junk 😆 But that doesn’t bother me much.
WWYD? I’m considering getting a second opinion, and I’m wondering if there are any particular areas I should have them evaluate for red flags.
To preface, I work at a dealer. These are little pieces of information that Hyundai is giving to us over time to prepare for the launch of the car.
On the surface this car is basically going to be an electric Palisade. Similar in overall length but a longer wheelbase and a significantly higher amount of passenger room due to it being on an EV platform. It will have the bi-directional center console rom the Santa Fe as well as the drawer in the second row. They recently showed us a video where one of the guys at corporate who is 6'10" can easily fit with plenty of room in both the first and second row. The ambient lighting is going to be similar to the other IONIQ's which is great, they have the best out of the Hyundais (though the new santa fe's is also cool. There will not only be the standard drive mode selections like Eco, Normal and Sport but there will also be a new "terrain" mode setting for Snow, Mud and Sand. What these will do we don't know yet, but if this is anything like the incoming Palisade it should feature proper electronically controlled suspension, possibly even with the "road preview" from some genesis models.
We don't have a proper trim breakdown but we have some info that I'll provide here. Trims will be a little different than other vehicles. They'll be as follows: S, SE, SEL, Limited, Calligraphy.
The S model is said to be RWD with 215 horsepower and 7 seats. It will have the HDA 2 and Smart Cruise Control 2 systems and 19" wheels.
The SE model is said to be AWD with 303 horsepower. It'll add an 8 way power passenger seat with 2 way power lumbar. It shows a picture of the memory seat buttons here but it doesn't actually say it includes this.
The SEL is going to be akin to the SEL Premium Palisade. You'll get the 360 surround camera, blind spot camera, ventilated front seats, heated wheel, ambient lighting with the IONIQ 6 style steering wheel lights and 20's.
The Limited will bump the AWD power up to 422 horsepower. Seating for 6 with 1st AND 2nd row relaxation seats (from the Santa Fe), digital key 2 premium and V2L capability.
The Calligraphy gets special interior and exterior accents, massage drivers seat (which has been improved from the palisade), rear view mirror camera, remote smart parking, HUD, 21's and matte paint options.
Colors on offer are going to be Abyss black pearl, Serenity white pearl, Snow white pearl, Cyber Gray metallic, Atlas white matte, Ecotronic gray matte, Nocturne gray (matte and metallic), Gravity gold matte, ultimate red metallic, Biophillic blue pearl, Celadon gray (matte and metallic), ionosphere green pearl, sunset brown pearl and cosmic blue pearl.
Interior colors will be Black, Dark gray and light gray two tone, black and light gray two tone, teal and light gray two tone, mud gray and beige two tone, cognac and beige two tone, wine red and light gray two tone.
Still no confirmation on pricing or a proper trim comparison sheet yet. It's said to drop sometime in "the first half of 2025" but Hyundai sucks with this type of stuff. They told us the refreshed 2024 Elantra N would be on our lot no later than March/April of last year. Then May. Then June. Then July, and it finally came at the beginning of August and they haven't sent another since lol.
If you're in the Southern New England area shoot me a message, I'd love to get some new customers through here especially when this car finally drops.
Need some advice.
Background - I bought a 2024 Kona Limited in August of 2023. One of the first things I typically do is with a new car is an aftermarket audio upgrade. In order to do that I tapped into the speaker wires. Everything worked fine for the first 6 months when I started having the intermittent green screen issue when my surround view would come on. I took it to a dealer. They replaced the rear camera and that fixed the issue for several months.
A few weeks ago the problem came back. I took it to a different dealer this time (a new one recently opened up a few minutes from my house vs the other options about 40 minutes away). They did some diagnostics and their suggestion after a few days was they could splice my speaker wires back together for $2000 or replace my wiring harness altogether for $4700. The person I was talking to couldn't explain how that would fix the issue. My guess is they didn't know what the problem was.
My thought is go back to the original dealer but being without a vehicle while I wait and hope they don't come to the same conclusion isn't great. It's worth noting I'm pretty sure it's a wiring harness issue but its the part going into the SVM module, not the speaker wires. I exposed the SVM module and by wiggling the wire harness I was able to get the camera to come on momentarily. I also replaced the rear camera myself but it didn't make a difference this time.
Bought an i10 2011 127k miles and drove it for 2 years. Had some minor issues like clutch and indicators needing fixing which I did but now it’s started to have black smoke when i rev and starts bumping when just in neutral. Any one know how much the fix will be or any probable issues.
I bought my 2016 sonata sport in December of 2022. The knock sensor came on and went into limp mode at 53k. The dealership i bought the car from has a lifetime warranty. (Not hyundai) I had it towed to the warranty company shop. They deleted the light for whatever reason, and said drive it to the hyundai dealership. So I did, the light was already deleted from said shop. They drove it for 25 miles, said nothing was wrong. Fast forward a year later, the light comes on again. At 61k. The dealership now tells me since I'm the 2nd owner and it's over 60k miles, they aren't going to cover it. So I called the warranty company and they said I didn't change the air filter at 60k. So my warranty was voided. I still have the loaner car from hyundai, but I'm guessing they will be asking for it back soon. Thoughts?
I'm trying to find a replacement part for my 2016 sonata. The part is the twist clip that keeps the access cover in the trunk closed, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I might be able to order one?
I checked on the OEM parts site, but it looks like only the panel itself is available, not the locking clip.
Any help is much appreciated!
Hey! I have a 2025 Sonata and I’ve noticed that when I’m reversing and get closer to another car or object, there is no proximity beep. I checked in the settings and all warning lights are enabled. Does anyone know if there is another setting I should be looking for? Or if the feature is even on the sonata? Thanks!
Be aware, there has been reports and now I can confirm that if you have a manufacture towing harness installed in your Hyundai, 4 pin, it can cause an issues with your tail lights that doesn't give you any dash warnings. Harness would short out a relay in a fuse box. Running tail lights wouldn't work, break light worked, just one side. Good luck
2022 Hyundai Kona Nline.
I got this car used from the dealer. Im glad I purchased the extended warranty. In colder months ive noticed the noise in the video. Its not the belt rather from the transmission. It goes away when it warms up and you notice it go away when you toggle in and out of drive. Reverse or neutral has no impact. A few other issues I've noticed
Random lurching when in Reverse, one time just all of sudden it locked up like I hit something with no warnings on dash.
I was in sport mode once and pinned it to make acleft turn and the car didn't shift into 2nd rather bounced back due to rev limiter.
I feel like the torque converter is misaligned or faulty in some way because it has a hard time grabbing 1st gear.
When coming to a stop and the car downshifts to 1st I get a judder like its about to stall ( this is very consistent)
Just like everybody else I'm pretty busy with work and I don't want to just take it in and waste anyone's time. I already took it in for reason 1 and was told it was a characteristic of the dual clutch transmission.
Should I take it in again or just wait until these develop into something more consistent?
Any advice would be appreciated.
I'm interested in these cars because of the massage seats and other features, and the affordable price considering the features. I'm wondering if owners could give me some advice on what red flags to look for?
I know certain parts have to be imported to the US so I'd also like a list of those so if I do get one I can stock up ahead of time. I'm also not rich I made 70 grand last year before taxes so if you have reasons for me to avoid the car I'd also like to know that so I can make an informed decision.
